I'm putting this out there for my fellow Reonauts to help me troubleshoot... I have had my grand for several months now and have enjoyed it immensely to this point. It, like any device, has its quirks and as most of them are workable I have found one that just drives me crazy!!!

First a little background on what I do... I do odd jobs that consist of either some type of landscaping or remodeling of some sort and both are usually very dirty jobs. I have found whether I keep my grand in either my shirt or pants pocket, I just can't get away from most of the debris that is in or around me. I have had my grand fall out of my shirt pocket on several occasions and fall drip tip first into flowerbeds and have had to take the tip off and blow it out numerous times or from running any of the saws, weed eaters, blowers, trimmers, or other power tools there is dirt, dust, or anything else in the air that just seems to find its way into my atty's... For the most part this is workable as I just take off the top cap and just blow everything out and keep on vaping. The part that drives me crazy is the button seems to get slightly sticky occasionally and unless I take everything apart and pull the button out and clean it, it just stays kind of sticky. Is there anything I can put on my button that will fend off much of the debris it picks up? I was thinking maybe a little graphite on the button or something... I though of putting a little bit of oil or plain VG on it, but afraid that would just compound the problem. Anyone have any suggestions? Getting a desk job is out of the question btw...

I have never given my grand a bath to this day, but that is because I take it apart usually once a month for a good cleaning. Usually just a thorough wipe down and cleaning of the delrin insert and firing pin. Deoxit Gold and put it back together. I dry burn my coils usually every other day and only have to re-wick it when I change my coils because I use Ready X Wick. That stuff is the greatest... I only vape one liquid and it is not gunky, per say, and don't have any leaks inside or out of my device. I think the silicone spray might be a possibility as long as I let it dry completely before putting it back together. Great responses so far. Thanks guys...

I do a lot of the same type of work and I have to agree with the "bath" suggestions. I usually just run them under a hot tap for a few minutes, dry everything off, shoot some compressed air inside the delrin block, and I'm good to go for another week or so.

I can't think of anything to put on the button that wouldn't just make things worse.

I also work doing a lot of the same stuff. I am constantly wiping down the top side of both Reos of dust and debris. About once every couple of days, I just take out the battery and the atty and five it a hot water rinse. Dry off as much as I can, then lay it on a clean paper towel open side down, and am usually good to go in an hour or so. Of course I only do one Reo at a time!

I had the same issue but only for about a week and a half. What I did was take the button out and cut a small piece of sponge out. Then I cut a slit in the piece and wedged my button back through it. You have to play with getting the right width to push down.

The dirt and the dust weren't a problem on the button anymore. The more firm the sponge is the more it filters out. I used a kitchen sponge that had a bunch of little holes instead of a natural one with large spaces.

I only needed to use it for that week and half, then removed it. Don't know how long it'd hold up for constant use though. Rubber boot type thing would probably be better. I needed quick, cheap and temporary.

I would like to thank everyone for their suggestions. I am going to try the graphite first to see if that is a short term fix to my problem since I have it readily available. I am looking into maybe a small case of some sort that my setup will fit into and be able to close. I may just have to live with the problem I have all together and just take it apart and clean it as needed. I will post my results after some usage...

@supertrunker, where did you get that case from? Does the top flap come over and close with your setup?
