I was having trouble with my button sticking as well. A good cleaning would help for a couple of days or so but the problem would return. While concerned about it becoming a dirt magnet, I took the button out, cleaned it up good and put a thin coating of white lithium grease around it. This was couple of weeks ago and I have had no more sticking problems at all. Hope this helps.
