That's great news - our doctor approves too...But even more important, my mother approves and she is a "nothing worse then an ex-smoker" that faints at the sight of a cigarette.

I use to know an ex-smoker and a lawyer. LOL He was the worst I knew. He had statutes and signs around like this. "I don't care what it is don's smoke it here" and "smokers will be cheerfully beaten to a bloody pulp".

Good for you. I take care of my aging mom. She is a neat freak and a non-smoker. Plus I smoked cigars. So i smoked under the leaky patio cover, never in the cars including mine. With my PV I can smoke almost anywhere. She loves the smell and that I'm not smoking. I have on place I go that you have to smoke 25' away from the building and I split the difference with vaping so as to not tick off the very vocal tenants of that business office building.

The only question my doctor asked was "where do you get them' and he wanted to know the brand and the different names for them. Like Personal vaporizer (my preferred) E-CIG etc..
I left him a sheet with the names and a local place and a note that The internet had them all over. Forgot to list ECF(drat).

I told my doc that I had stopped smoking and started vaping instead. They told me I was still a smoker, and listed me as so on my paperwork. I was honestly pretty ...... off. But on a good note, usually my heartrate is out of control. At a rest, it was always 90 and up, usually over 100. When they checked my pulse at the office it was 62! I about fainted, and my blood pressure was down. Hey, I feel better, and my body is showing signs of things improving, so the doctor can kiss my ...:)

As long as it does not affect your insurance rates.

One thing to keep in mind. The difference between God and a Doctor is that God does not think he is a Doctor.
Make sure to polish up you behind real good and mark the spot so he can't miss it when your tests keep showing good.
You have to mark the spot because its sound as though he may have trouble finding it.

My first post vaping appointment with my doctor was about 2 months after I stopped smoking. I vaped in the waiting room (packed, no one said a WORD to me LOL) and then I vaped through the BP/heartrate check. The nurse was mildly interested, but never told me to stop. The doctor walked in just as I was blowing out a cloud, and stopped dead in her tracks. "WHAT is THAT?" I told her, and she wanted to hold it, and had many questions. One was what was the suspension. When I told her (mine is a 60/40 PG/VG) she said, "That is GREAT!" I mentioned that I was thinking of opening a small shop to sell them (it never actually happened. LIFE happened. *sigh*) she said I should bring her a stack of business cards, and she'd give them to patients who asked her for Chantix! How awesome that would have been, getting referrals from a doctor!

*edit* I forgot to mention, she did notice that my BP was lower, my heartrate was better, and my lungs sounded clearer!

You say their supportive of it rather than smoking which I can fully understand. What is their opinion of vaping just straight up? Not as an alternative? Were you able to get a read on their thoughts?

Couldn't get much of a feel for what my dentist thought...he was just impressed that my throat looked so much better than my last visit after only 3 days of no smoking and only vaping. My docs only real concern was that I'm still getting the nicotine (hey, one step at a time here doc). I believe he'd prefer that I not smoke or vape anything...but if I'm going to do something, he'd prefer I vape. I got the impression that the "jury was still out" for him, but he does consider it to be a far safer alternative to my previous 2 PAD habit.

I have another appt to see my doc in a month...I have HBP and we're both curious to see if a good month or so off the analogs and vaping only will have any impact on my BP and heart rate, either in the negative or positive. For now, he's just told me to keep a close eye on things...he's mostly worried that my BP will drop too low with the meds I'm on and the absence of analogs.

I hadn't see my doctor for over 2 year and I had started back smoking before that. I decided I needed to get a check up and fess up. When I told him I had gone back to smoking way back I got his squint eyed look of both disappointment and like he was staring through my head. Before I could say I was Vaping i reached for my PV and I was looking at his eyes. They went very bright and he pointed and said, "GOOD THAT WORKS".
Thought this was useful info.
Won't know the results until Firday or Monday. But had to share this.
I'll post the results of the checkup later.
I already celebrated with custom tip and a new flavor. Cranberry.

Almost fogot got my ViviNova today. He he Very nice.
So got 1.5 good news.

Good share brother!!!! My lung doctor said the same thing to me last week. I love it when a specialist says what I'm doing is not going to hurt me any more than a cup of coffee.

My B/P went almost back to normal after I started vaping. Next time take a few bottles of your favorite juice with you. If it list what's in it that is. I did and my doc just kept smiling. Let em see what's in there that is gonna destroy the earth like a lot of em think.

As long as it does not affect your insurance rates.

IIRC she is new to vaping. I am pretty sure insurance won't even change for a cold turkey quitter for at least six months.

Personally...the rates aren't my problem. My health is. I'll worry about rates when I can tell them I went a year without a cig.

I remember my doctor, also a two pack a day smoker, lecturing me in my early twenties as he blew his brains off. My former fiancee, a pack a day smoker had a stroke, and when he asked me if he was smoking again I said we were vaping. So in his diagnostic for the stroke put "flight stroke". My doctor knows little about it and was unsympathetic about it. I haven't been in yet, we'll see. The one that doesn't like it is my neumonologyst because I'm alergic to something in the juices I'm using. Strange, but I don't cough when I smoke but I do cough when I vape.
