I think she might be referring to a CE2 (although I might be wrong):

510 CE2 Cartomizer XL

I've never tried them, but I did try a CE2/poly-fill hybrid carto thingy from Vapor Phoenix that I did not like at all. What I especially didn't like is that he doesn't state on the site that they aren't regular poly-fill Smoktech clones (which is what they appear to be in the picture). I emailed him and said they were burning at a much lower temp than they should be. He said they do much better on an eGo. Heloooo! I bought the higher resistance to use on a mod.

For me, the best flavors are:
Dripping
Bottom-feeder with a dripping atty
Carto-tank
Bottom-feeder with a carto (the flavor might be more than a carto tank, but I find the carto tank easier)
CE3 XL clearos (but they only hold a little bit of juice)
Everything else. I use a Protank a lot, but because it's easy, not because of the flavor

Wow...that just looks like a headache waiting to explode!

There are the ce2 cartomizers that are essentially a clearomizer head with tiny wicks inside a carto steel casing. I've tried those, didn't care for them like MimiKim and Ocelot were talking about. IBTanked used to offer them along with regular filler cartomizers on their website, but when I looked to link them here they no longer list them - probably didn't sell enough to offer them any more.

There also are what are essentually submersable atomizers which are being advertised as filler-less cartomizers. Called the Smoktech Nickel Meshed Cartomizer. Tried those too, they didn't work either. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartomizers/418052-smok-tech-nickel-mess-dct-cart.html.

The one I had was a weird CE2 hybrid though, if you recall. It had a horizontal coil/wick, inside of a sock, wrapped in poly-fill. The sock started burning almost immediately, while the wick was fine.

For consistency, flavor, ease of maintenance and no dry hits, nuttin' beats a carto tank!!!

Have yet to try a clearo/RBA/etc. that hasn't disappointed me. Ergo, carto tanks fer dis ol' fart!

I guess I've been lucky in life. I found early on what I liked and I've just stuck with it. I may be missing out on something but, if I don't know I'm missing out, then it's fine. Aah, sweet ignorance...such bliss. :)

One came pre-installed in a cheap little polypro tank they had on sale. I bought extra cartos thinking they were Smok clones. Oh well, I don't like the tank either. It looks like something from the $ store.

So once I've used a carto for a certain flavor, is that it? That carto is only good for that flavor?

I have tried different cleaning methods; Busardo's seems to work best. Multiple boilings and drainings. Stuff with vapor towel and let dry overnight. Sometimes does not work. Works best with similar flavors...

Ah. Yeah. Sounds like work. Multipacks of cartos it is then. :)

At the price, I just keep filling the tank with the same flavor until the carto dies, then throw the carto away. If something gets in the polyfill that tastes weird, you'll never get it out.

I think you've about got me convinced to give them a try. I'm still trying to figure out the different carto brands and types, but I'm sure I'll have that nailed down in the next few days. One question: flanged or no?

About the tank tools, does the IBTanked version work well enough, or should I buck up and get the Slap yo mama?
I've never tried the Slap Yo' Momma tool, but the IBTanked tool works fine for me. Attach it to the carto, push the carto about halfway down in the tank, fill with juice from the top, push carto back up into place. Done in about 1 minute. Much easier and faster (and less messy) than the Smoktech tank tool I previously used on my Pyrex DCTs.

I use flanged cartos on my IBTanked tanks. I just order the Smoktech 3.2 ohm single-coil pre-punched cartos from them. They offer a discount if you buy over 10 cartos (which I always do), so it comes out to $1.35 per carto.

Carto tanks take a bit more setup than a clearo (i.e., properly priming the carto), but once that's done they're very simple - refill liquid when it's getting low, change cartos when they go bad. IBTanked's "thingy" even takes the hassle out of priming cartos - put the carto in the tank, fill the tank with juice, put the tank inside the "thingy" and twist the thingy's lid open/closed about 20-25 times. Your carto is now fully primed and ready for use. Top the tank off, put it on your PV and vape away.

Can anyone recommend an affordable carto, pre-punched preferably? I mostly use 50/50 juice.

tank lengths.jpg

Use the above graphic to know what cartomizer brand to use, and what length of cartomizer, depending upon the length of tank you get.

Here's a huge list of online vendors that sell pre-punched cartomizers. I include which brand and other options offered that each vendor sells with direct links. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...nched-single-coil-cartomizers-cartotanks.html

And here is my cartotank setup guide: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3710-5-cartomizer-tank-setup.html

The IBTanked pyrex cartotanks are an ideal tank for new and veteran users alike. A complete tank kit can be purchased between $25 -$30 depending upon the size of the tank. There are of course less expensive tanks on the market, but I'm a firm believer that you generally get exactly what you pay for. Paying a few more dollars can help ensure a more satisfying first tank experience. Here's a review of the IBTanked:
