On a KFL I used 28 kanthal at 10 wraps with a 2.7 mm ID. It metered at 1.3 ohms. It's being wicked with cotton and fired on an SVD at 12 watts. Vapor is great and taste is good.

Very nice coil! you must have done your research properly on learning how to make those, because its very well made.

I dont use micros anymore on my kayfuns (or any other for that matter), because no matter how hard i try, what brand of cotton i try, how long i boil it (or not), i just cant get used to the taste of cotton.
I have tried just about every build i ever saw on my kayfuns. And the one that works best for me (and i currently use), is just a normal 4-5 wrap coil of .32 kanthal, arround a single strand of 3mm silica, Ends tucked on the sides being carefull not to obstruct the juice channels.

Yay for you! On my kayfun I usually do micros. IL do a 6 Wrap On A 3/4 In Drill bit, Compress AND Torch The Coil AND I Get A Lil micro. That's my favorite. What a great job you did!! Enjoy :)

"a 3/4" drill bit"....... dang! Will that even fit in the juice chamber? That's as big as my pinky finger! What kinda resistance?

Well not as big as my pinky but BIG!

Did you buy that Kayfun used? From the looks of the dings on the build deck it looks like this Kayfun has been around for awhile. So either it is used, a ....ty build from whoever made it, or your not being honest in it being your first build :)

Looks like just some juice and cotton threads to me. To the OP, nice build. Did you mean circumference and not ID??

Pretty nice looking coil, but, I would raise it up a little more above the air hole & I would trim the excess wire off your negative block a little more. It looks awful close to touching your positive block. Other than that, all and all a good looking coil.

I agree with this post and nice work on your first coil. Now you have to deal with the wick. If you have thinner juice use more wick. If you have thicker juice use less wick. I always use as much wick as I can since I prefer the the flavor that "more" wick provides... I bottom fill mine by tightening the fill hole and the air hole and removing the coil/wick section. I inject around 2.5mls of liquid than tighten slowly. I back off the air-hole 2 or 3 turns and voila---No leakage!

Send us your wick photo and juice type for this build if you can! What MOD are you firing it on?

The kayfun is brand new. Looking at the pic now it would look like dings. It's just juice I was cleaning the coil and replacing the wick.
