My first DNA30 wood mod

So this is what I've come up with for my first DNA30 mod. Took a lot longer to make than I expected and ended up rushing the end of it. I ended up gluing the up and down wattage buttons in place before I was done with polishing the brass and had to work around them for the rest of the build. Had some extra epoxy during a step and decided to mount the buttons without thinking ahead.

My inspiration comes from a guy that goes by "devine33" over at The Vapor Shed forum. My biggest design change was in creating an easily removable battery for charging opposed to having the battery permanently mounted inside. I made my own positive battery contact out of copper folded over and dimpled to accept flat top batteries.

All work was done with 97% hand tools other than soldering and some drill press work. The rest is all hand saws, hand planes, files, etc. the wood finish is shellac buffed out with steel wool and wax. Any questions just ask. Any criticism is approximated for future ideas.

Oh and this is my first posting pics with Taptalk so I hope it works.

Thats probably the lowest depth in 12mm vandal because of the raised deck area. I did a quick scan for ya and nope< -- ya know there's one out there..

ya could chop a switch up and insert a tact if it bothers ya that much without finding a suitable replacement.

Check out suzukiv6's work he does just that, makes switches for his mod and uses tacts under..
YIHI SX350 Mini Mod build with Max Power | The Vapers Shed

Check out his other eye candy post too he fabricates parts for rolls royce and bentleys he is a master.

Thank you for all the compliments. Thanks to places like this I gained a ton of build ideas and learned the tricks to placing the screen and chip in place. So I thought I should at least post what little build pics I took to help others along. Wish I had taken the time to take more pics in the process of working the wood and figuring all that part out. Woodworking is second nature to me so I didn't think much of it.

Very precise woodworking and I admire your joinery. As for the protrusion of the switch I really don't think it takes anything away from the looks, it complements the protrusion of the atty. And you can rest your finger next to the switch when just holding the mod. I'll take a protruding switch with a smaller overall mod silhouette any day. Note: mine are mostly protruding, very little interior space for that, so I'm rather biased. ;)
