I desperately want to quit smoking; so decided to try e cigs. I should have joined this forum first and asked for recommendations.
I ordered from Zerocig (after some internet research into prices, options, etc.). Since I always smoke menthol that is the flavor I ordered.
My first drag was horrible. The taste was absolutely awful--but I thought, "Maybe I just have to get used to it and I really want to do this."
I smoked a little off and on for about a couple of hours, and just HATED the taste and the after taste in my mouth. Got sick to my stomach. So, I stopped. It is now 5 hours later, am still sick to my stomach and still have the after taste. Taste just won't go away and it is making me sick.

I am sure there are better brands/options out there for me than this horrible experience.
ANY, ANY, help, ideas would be really appreciated. I don't want to stop trying to quit smoking real cigs just because of this awful experience.

Thank you to anyone who can help me and offer suggestions.

I'm a menthol smoker, if that helps.

The PV I use is a Joye Ego, purchased from Liberty Flights. You can get a Riva ego for $29.99
20% off your whole order!

I get my juice from nhaler - Nuport nhale/xhale or 555 menthol. Also like Backwood Brew menthol. If you get 'light' or low menthol, you can taste tobacco and menthol mix. Strong menthol is mostly menthol. Depends which one you prefer.

Also like Vapor Bomb Artic Ice. This is straight up menthol, no tobacco. Many people really like Halo menthol.

No one usually gets a great juice their first try. And the juice that comes with most kits is pretty bad. You need juice from a good juice vendor.

Good luck!

I made the switch in January of this year and had to try three or four different ecig's before I finally got to "satisfaction" - I started with an 801 but got tired of filling up the stuffing - I also bought a "Green Smoke" - pricey, but I did like the taste - the problem with them was the cost of the cartridges and they aren't refillable ----- so on to the Ego - satisfaction almost there and then I purchased two different types of tank systems and for now my biggest problem is finding the ejuice that will be an all day vape.

Bottom line - you will end up spending quite a bit of $$$$ until you find what is good for you - but not nearly as much as you would smoking analogs - it was worth it to me - I am now about $400 into it - but I haven't smoked an analog in almost five months and my health is so much better. I have settled on a coffee flavored ejuice and alternate between my two tank systems - I think I am a vaper for life!!!! I hope you become one also!!!!

I don't know what kind of pv Zerocig is. You should be able to get blank cartomizers for it and fill them yourself. Don't spend a bunch buying extras for this kit. It's a mini so it's doubtful the batteries will last very long. Once you find a juice you like and know if you like vaping, get a kit with a bigger battery.

I agree with the previous posters. We get a lot of people here who find us because they bought an expensive knock off of a real e-cig and it ends up not working out so they search and find us. Take a look around here, read the tons of reviews, and I'm sure you'll find something you like that's within your price range. And all the suppliers here have their own forums where people discuss their products. Just go to the main page, scroll almost all the way down and you'll see the MASSIVE list of suppliers from the people who became companies to the people who haven't company-ized yet :D

Is it a 3-piece? If so, the atomizer probably had primer on it - that tastes awful. Do you think it is primer? And it is probably Chinese eliquid - not the pinnacle of subtlety. What model did you get?

OK I looked at it. So you got some mystery model and don't like the cartomizers. It's a 2-piece? Hard to tell. the carts look like cartomizers but there is also an atomizer shown...

Looks like a 2-piece. Male threads on the battery? If the diameter is a bit more than 9mm then it is probably either KR808D-1 or KR808D-2

ONLY if the diameter is a bit larger than 9mm:

Vapesafe.com sells single KR808D-1 cartomizers - buy one of those and see if it fits and works. Do NOT force it. If that works then you can get cartomizers at Vapor4Life.

If that does not work than try KR808D-2/E9, the incompatible rebrander model - get some cartos at AZSmokeFree or Greensmoke and try those.

If the diameter is less than 9mm then it could be Chinese wholesaler model E8. In that case, not much to do about it.

I don't think it's a 3-piece, Dormouse. It looks like a 2-piece mini. You are probably right about the juice. They are a registered vendor here, but I can't see on the website what type of pv it is.

+1 on the primer! You have to blow out an atomizer before use and get all the clear primer fluid out. If you don't, it will taste bad for a long time.

Buy a commonly used ecig. Here on the forum, people like the 510, Ego, KR808, 306, and a bunch of mods. You can get a Riva 510 "Lite Bundle" starter kit from Liberty Flights E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings for $29.95 after clicking the 20% off icon at the top of the page. They ship across the country for $2.98. That kit comes with two batteries, a charger, two 510 style atomizers, and a cone.

WOW-- I can't believe all you folks responded so fast with your advice and help. AWESOME!! I'm still getting the hang of all this Vape lingo.
It is a 2 piece. I didn't see any place on the site that had empty cartidges to fill your yourself.
Will continue to monitor this a try to absorb all your wonderful suggestions.
Thanks sooooooo much.

I really want to become a life vaper. I didn't even know the term "vaper' existed until today! LOL. But sure am confused.
What is a tank system??? And an "analog"?? A "real cigarette" maybe??
Also I always thought all e cigs simply had a cartridge you just screwed on the battery and simply re-ordered the cartridges. Looks like I have a lot to learn before I spend any more money.

It's late afternoon here and I still fell sick.

A tank system is a little tank you fill up with juice that fits on your atomizer. Analog= real cigarette.

A cartomizer is a cartridge and atty combined. This is what you use on your particular unit.

Check the post that Dormouse made

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/194823-my-first-try-e-cigs.html#post3383813

Once you determine the type unit you have, the numbers refer to battery type, you can order your own cartomizers and fill them with juice you like yourself. It's very easy to do and you'll save money.

If you can't figure it out, send an email to the supplier. Ask him what type of battery you have. Is it a KR808-1, KR808-2, 510?

Did you mention what nic level you ordered? Sorry if you did, I don't see mention of it. Too high a nic level could also make you feel sick (aside from the awful taste). You may have to adjust your nic level down, depending.

I chain vape at 6mg. If I tried that at anything higher than 12mg I think I'd feel pretty green for quite awhile.

I think the kit she has just comes with prefilled cartos.

Here's her kit

http://www.zerocig.com/

It doesn't look like a bad pv. Lots of people start out with this type and really like it. My mother started with a similiar model with prefilled cartos.

But if you're unhappy with it, according to the site they do have a 14 day return.

My brother gave me his old E-cig which was this one ->Wicked Tornado E-NIC Compact Starter Kit Available in 3 Colors
which I liked but for some reason gave me a horrible headache that lasted 3 days solid. Now I have this ->TORNADO TANK E-NIC KIT and I LOVE it. Im still trying to figure out what flavors I like but I know I dont like any tobacco flavors which suprised me because I was a pack a day marlbro red smoker for years.
Good luck :)
