My friend ordered a V2 ecig as her first one. As a veteran vaper, I have never heard of this brand. Any feedback?

I am not sure why she didnt order an eGo from the many companies that sell this ecig. But she says she got a good Black Friday sale on a V2 ultimate package. And having been on this forum for over 2 years and never had even HEARD of this ecig, I had to investigate. So i looked at the website:
How V2 Works
From what i see, it looks sorta like a 501 or 901 so i am to assume the battery life will be nothing like the eGo, also, it appears that it is only a 2 piece and therefore restricted to use of their 12 flavor cartomizers. Which is a shame because half the enjoyment of vaping is being able to experiment with so many supplier's ejuice flavors etc.
Can anyone else review this website and let me know what yall think? I am just praying that she didnt make too bad a decision and end up with a bad vaping experience and wasted her money. I sincerely hope this doesnt end up being a "i told you so", "you should have listened to me" situation. but the fact is that i am pretty well educated on ecigs.
Thanks.

V2 looks like a re-branding of the kr808 D-1 manufactured by Kanger. Not a bad starter but the same model can be had for a lot less. Here's one with a PCC (personal charging case) for $29.95 http://www.ecigsupply.com/Starter-Kits/KR-808D-PCC-Kit-p278.html
Buying that and a spare battery would have probably been a better deal. She still did better than I did on my first ecig purchase. Good for her! :)

thanks. feeling a little better for her. not sure about kr808 vapor production/draw/battery life. hope its decent enough to give her a decent first vaping experience. yeah. i definitely knew that regardless of what kind of ecig it is rebranded as, she could have gotten it cheaper elsewhere. thank you so much for reading and replying.

I started out with the V2. Had zero problems with it. I liked the cherry cartos. Yep, it was a bit pricier, but it served its purpose as my starter PV. the V2cigs batteries are KR808-D1 and are compatible with vapor 4 life cartos, or any other D1 cartos for that matter. I used both brands interchangeably. I DIY my own juice these days, but I still use my V2 batts and cartos when I am not using my mod. I would, and have, recommended V2 to other people. :) The only negative I ever had with them is shipping is a little slower than other vendors.

I love the v2! And I do refill my carts with juice using the condom refill technique - tell her to keep the caps, plugs and carts as she uses them so she can reuse them. I am getting about 4 refills per cart. Simply take the end cap, fill it with about 6 drops of juice, put the mouth end down into the juice filled cap, if it starts coming out the hold on the other end (the end that screws onto the battery) raise the cart a bit and it'll go away. If no juice comes out, remove the cart, add a few more drops into the cap end and repeat until the cart is full. Wipe all juice away from mouth piece and screw side of cart, screw on and vape awa! Tell her to be sure and watch the charging of her battery - only charge when the LED blinks and put the charger where she can check on it's progress and remove as soon as it's charged. She will want 2 batteries for sure so she can rotate.

The v2 passthrough is awesome but the standard batteries are nice also. I was told the batteries are KR808D-1 's by folks on this ECF forum, couldn't get v2 to confirm that.

Actually, I should have said initially add about 9 drops of juice. One thing that is important with this type of Ecig is to not let the cart dry out as it will start to burn the wrap around the tiny atty inside - better to refill more often than not. I like to fill several carts up at once so I can easy switch without hassle during the day.

texastumbleweed,

I started with blu a year ago, returned that promptly and waited another year before deciding to try vaping again. This time (just this past Oct) I ordered the couples kit from V2. They are a small company who took off quickly and are having a bugger of a time handling the load of orders. Tell your friend to expect quite a wait....at least 2 weeks. If you go to their site and read the forum there, it's still going on. (tons of backorders) Their customer service is very nice and the pv may have been a decently good one too, but I didn't keep mine for very long. (I coughed my head off every single time I tried vaping their stuff)
I then researched and found this site. I learned that you can get a much better deal on pv's than they offer so I sent mine back and bought an eGo and juices. I am not sure if it was the PG juices in their carts, or new atty oil or what the problem was, but myself, my boyfriend and my Mom choked half to death!
My advice to your friend....either a) give them a shot and make sure to buy some juices to refill while waiting on future backorders. or b) buy somewhere else and cancel the kit she just ordered
(I like my eGo so much more than the v2...it is a KR808D-1 btw)

You are a good friend to post your concern. =) HTH!

thanks. i am forwarding this info to her. gosh i just wish she had ordered an eGo like i have....the fact remains that most people who order any other type of PV end up buying an eGo eventually.

well well.........update.........though i had warned my friend to research the forum before ordering her first ecig, or just order an eGo like i have, she ordered her ecig from V2 about 2 weeks ago...........cuz she said it was one of the highest rated ecigs in the reviews she read online (i dont understand that, since this is a company almost NEVER mentioned on a big ecig forum like ECF.....someone please explain).............and she still has NOT gotten her ecig. i have never waited more than 4 days from ANY supplier i use.
feedback? thoughts?

My buddy ordered from v2. as others said, it is a kr808d-1. i also got an 808 (well a couple 808s) from other vendors, for way cheaper. I did find the 808 to be a great pv to start with. It treated me well for 2 months. It was still treating me well then, but i decided it was time for a mod. My friend with the v2 said the same thing as your friend, about it being "highly rated." My guess is that they both read the "reviews" and the comparison chart on v2, and that info just got mixed in their minds with all the other info they read.
In a "premium" (standard) 808 cart, i can usually fit 20-30 drops in a new one. this will obviously vary, as drop sizes are not consistent, but its a pretty good guideline. when filling 808 cartos, put the plug in the battery end, pop off the white end cap, remove the rubber ring inside, and drip onto the filler. When it appears wet, flick or shake it vigorously like a thermometer. Drip again till it looks wet, and repeat until it still looks wet after shaking. This way you get the filler as saturated as possible and avoid premature burning.

I have had an earlier experience with V2, and let me tell you the wait time is absurd. All one has to do is check out their forum to see the frustration with shipping orders in a timely fashion. The delay generally occurs because a particular flavor is not in stock. The only option in this case is to contact their customer support, and request the shipment of the 'partial order', which usually includes the hardware and a possible substitution of flavors. The standard response to fullfillment date is "some time next week". As a caution to anyone else looking to order from V2, please note that they do not provide an "Out of stock" indicator on their site, so better to check with CS before hitting that SUBMIT button.

Or you could cancel and order from a better vender and save a couple bucks to boot.

V2 is where I got mine, they are pretty high voltage for what it is 3.7-4.1 something like that. I have 2 pass-throughs from them and I can use them in my car with the adapter they sell. There is a pretty good video on you tube that caused me to order from them, but I have noticed they arent the cheapest place. You can drip with a 901 atomizer...you can add your own juice to the cartomizer, and there are the lovely ceramic CE2 carts that fit them also....They ARE slammed, probably due to the good reviews on you tube. Dont worry, they are a decent company, just cant handle the business they are getting. Its true that you can get the KR-808D1 cheaper elsewhere though.

A standard KR8 carto holds about 1ml of juice when empty.

For my V2 (KR808 D1) I like the XL CE2 cartomizers and they hold almost 2ml....also the voltage is perfect for that carto...better than higher voltage (also without the yucky fiber filler that burns if you drag too long or get it hot).

I'm getting a Provari for Christmas and I'm so glad because of the longer battery life and voltage flexibility :) For what it's worth I will probably still be using my V2 cigs as they work great, but the batteries are smaller...and I'm chain vaping.

I understand how you feel about your friend, I was worried for someone I work with, they showed me an ad for a free trial, and I had already told her not to do any free trials...I gave her a personal free trial already....sigh. You can lead a horse to water...
