The problem is the wick should go down into those little valleys... Remove that metal ring right below your wick. Put your cotton through then pull the it down into those valleys out the metal ring back on make sure to tuck the cotton all they way into the valleys so not to block the threads screw the ring down. Once the ring is down screw the rest of the tank down into place. I had the same problem when I go mine. Those valleys are where youre wicking from.

When I tried putting the wicks down into the juice channels I got massive dry hits..the cotton actually closed off the little hole in the port...
Solution for me was to cut the ends of the cotton just long enough to touch the deck, tuck behind the ring making sure the top of the juice well is covered..no cotton should show below the ring at all...been vaping great, no leaks and no dry hits even chain vaping...just sayin :)

The Alleria just got here. I'll do my best to take pics of wicking for you, but I'm ver sick

Crius/Griffin/Alleria all wick the same. They differ slightly in size, but otherwise are nearly identical. If you can do one, you can do all 3.
Hope you get better! And don't sweat it, I think I've got enough help for now to give it a few more tries (hopefully 1 is enough).

Is your wicking touching the air flow channel? It looks like it is in the pics. That could be letting some juice in the airflow.
I think this is the main issue (and the most obvious one): some of the cotton was touching the airflow at the inner side (i.e. not very visible).

Ye that's what I've tried, when I compare it with the vids on youtube I don't think too much cotton was below the ring.

Its hard to tell from the pictures.... but it looks like your chimney section is missing the smaller o-ring at the bottom.
I see the bigger green one on there where the glass meets the chimney, but the small one (unless its still clearish and Im just not seeing it from the picture) looks absent. Should block the flow from where the bottom of the chimney section threads into the deck cover (the section with the griffin name, logo, juice holes)

After a complete rebuild it just started leaking again ... now I made sure I took every tip into account, so I guess missing an o-ring could make sense. But to make sure what you are talking about, do you mean 1 2 or 3? or another one? I only noticed number 2 now, I might replace that one as well and see if that was the reason.

Update: so I did a new build, taking all the advise into account. I was hopeful, but unfortunately this m^&**&^^%^&* tank leaked again. So I took some more pictures, made sure the wick is staying away from the vent holes. The only thing I can think of is the o-ring in the middle (see 1 post up for a pic), or that my coil is somehow causing the issue (no clue how). Honestly feeling like throw it out of the window (if my car wasn't parked out there I might have by now).

I'm sure you've already heard this, but are you making sure your airflow and juice flow are both shut off when you have the top cap off?
Yes absolutely making sure about that. It started to leak now as soon as I started vaping (with airflow / juice flow slightly open, and and 2nd attempt full open.
