My latest mod, inspired by all of you.

I've not had any luck testing with a single 1.5 AA battery. Since I'm in the same boat of waiting on my lithium batteries, I've been testing utilizing my 4 AA box w/ 3 AAs in them to give me 4.5 volts and it works well for me.

I thought it might at least produce a whisp of fog! No use for real vaping of course.

Wildsky - if your 4xAA box has only 3AAs in it, you have shorted the fourth space, or connected to the third?

Its the N I believe. THe atomizer fits on there really well.

Wildsky, this could be pretty important to be certain of because the 901 atomizer screws onto both perfectly and you can't tell the difference until you don't have any vape (found this out first hand). The center post in the Size M switch is smaller in diameter and doesn't always make contact w/ the positive part of the atomizer.

I put 4 batteries in it, closed it up and used the wires sticking out to connect to the battery points in my mod.

It says N on the little baggie it came in from Radio shack.

I have read this from the begining and am waiting on the "It works" post.
I must say that I am very Impressed that it looks so nice. I will have to give this a go this weekend, I found that a metal valve cover fits my 4081 threads so I might give that a try as I have no 801's or 901's. I have a DuraC but my wife might strangle me if I tore up a new battery to try this mod. The guy at staples must have thought I was trying to steal something trying to thread my attys on all of the different ink pens, kept checking on me every few minutes. I still could find no threads that worked.

You go girl!

The only other thing I can think, other than battery issues at the moment. I messed around with the switch (on/off) ALOT to try get it to fit in there. I could not place it in the center as Nico had as my box closes and has a little screw in it, smack in the middle. SO I had to get the switch to the side of that, and to do that I had to mess with it alot, I had to bend in the sides of the switch - it stuck out too far, so I bent the metal ends down and inward to fit in. I also could have messed up the solder point for that black wire, with all the messing around trying to get it in.

It's always possible, Wildsky....but the only way you would truly be able to tell is to conduct a continuity test w/ a multi-meter. Any chance you or your hubby have one?

A simple one is: battery box, LED and 100ohm resistor, all in series, plus 2 crocodile-to-crocodile leads.

Make it a BIG pot of tea! LOL my 2AA box is a little different, it has a screw to close it up, which causes a little trouble placing the switch.
I have two tact switches, now trying to figure out which one to use.
One is the very big one Nico used in the second mod post. The other one I got is very very small, but I like it!

EDIT to add: I used the big one, I think bigger is better when its your first time.

All of the boxes that I've built have a screw ,
but I never use them
Doesn't yours also kinda snap into place?

I've not had one come apart without the screw...
so far. :p

It probably wouldn't just drop open without the screw, and I'd have to leave it off if I went anywhere and might need to open it up!

I got the multi-meter thing, I have to figure out how to use it later, right now I have to feed hungry animals!
Any tips on using it please post! Thank you...

Thanks ahead of time,

Walter.

Watch out for this link. It's apparently a popular way to get a virus. He did a hit and run link drop in IRC that earned him a ban on the network.

But was totally inspired By Nico and how fast she learned by doing.
I too just picked up my very first Multimeter,it's a
"Powerbuilt" # 648349

So far the only thing that I've been able to figure out is that the setting for checking voltage continuity is in the top left corner of the dial and the setting is 20.Good luck!
