IMO vaping and smoking together is fine....in the end you most likely will smoke less and that is better then smoking the full amount you did before....i am struggling my .... off with being at 7 cigs a day and using the ecig...so i ordered a mod, see if that will help with the umph i need to kick the habit,,,,,,but its your habit and you gotta do what you gotta do....and vaping will always be there :) I have noticed a lot of people still have an occasional cig when they vape.....and what i noticed is that when people actually stop smoking its out of mistake not intention to quit.....there is a lot of pressure when a person says immediately they are quitting.....and then, when/if you smoke that first smoke after a month it feels very defeating...but hey, get back on and start vaping, if you need a cig here or there or even everywhere...go for it.... :) am done babbling

Just an after-thought since my last post here.... (a couple things actually)

Second, and this is only *my* experience, but I think the reason e-cigs have worked for me is because I never *expected* an e-cig to replace my analogs. For me, when I was smoking, even the THOUGHT of quitting stressed me out so much that I would actually smoke MORE (lol even talking about it now I've been hitting my pv pretty hard).

I know exactly what you're saying here because that's the way I was also. lol. But I managed to get off analogs completely within six days. I just concentrated more on vaping than I did the ciggies. So, Mike, hang tough buddy, you can do it. Just keep firmly in mind that vapor has no carbon monoxide so you're not robbing your blood stream. ( no one wants to be a robber do they? lol.) It's also has no tars to coat your cilia, so the more you vape, the more you'll be setting them free. ( everyone likes to be a liberator don't they ) Later, JD :vapor: File:Bronchiolar epithelium 3 - SEM.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hey, Mike!

I can't really say anything that hasn't been said. Just know that all of us here at ECF got your back, so don't beat yourself up. The important things are that you're dusting yourself off and trying again while seaking the advice of ECF.

... and look at all the great responses you've gotten! Quite the support group you have in place, huh? :)

+1 to Mike for fighting the good fight.

Meh, don't be sorry. Cigarette addiction is one of the toughest things in the world. Don't push yourself. It takes time. I've been vaping for 3 months, quit smoking 2 months ago, but my wife still smokes half of what she used to. Half of what she used to. I'll say it one more time, LOL. Half of what she used to. She is kickin' .... in my book!

I think there is a lot of pressure to "quit" smoking with electronic cigarettes. The truth is that this is an alternative to smoking. You're doing great. Don't beat yourself up for the great success that you've had. :)

Don't let it get you down, Mike. No one said you have to quit cold-turkey when you start vaping. Everyone has their own pace, and there's nothing wrong with that. This is my second time around, and I didn't come back to the forum in the meantime. However, I'm glad I'm back now, and I'm giving it another go. Do what feels best for you, and if you eventually quit smoking down the road, then hoorah for you. If you smoke and vape, then hoorah for you, too. Just stick around, though.

You guys are all so silly. Quitting is easy. I've done it at least 100 times. :)

Hang in there Mike. Like everyone already said. We all hit a rough patch once in a while. Don't beat yourself up about it. Use it as a learning experience as to what your weaknesses are and possibly you can avoid whatever it was that made ya slip in the future. At least you can identify it now before it's too late. You'll get through it. Stay strong.

the worst thing you can do for quitting is assign a strict timeline to it. if you're not 100% ready to give it up and do it anyway you're much more likely to relapse. it just creates too much anxeity. on the flip side you have to try not to validate the habit. i personally just kinda fell into vaping and when i realized it could curb my urge to smoke i just immersed myself in it. i still allow myself to burn a camel when i'm really feelin' the need, but i don't kick myself for it. i'm actually still pretty stoked that i could make it from a pack a day + down to a single cig every 2-3 days. good luck man, it's not a step back, it's more like break time for the process.

Thank you All.. I appreciate the support, what a great bunch of people we have here.

I was just dissapointed that I had a relapse, but better days are coming and I know it.....Just felt the need to apologize for those that had given me support initially.
Hardest part was apologizing to my Children...

The line about " Quitting is easy" thats a good one and I have said that many times in my life.....dang if it isn't one of the hardest thing you have to face...

Again thank you for your support and Merry Christmas to all and to all a Non Analogue life! Vape On!

I know it's been said before, but hang in there and try not to be too hard on yourself. It took me quite a while before I quit, but now I'm at day 21 and going strong. What helped me, and what you could try, is to set a condition to when you can have an analog. For me, I decided that if I had a strong craving I'd first give myself 1/2 hour of vaping only. Then if I still had the really strong craving I would be allowed to have an analog. Since I've started doing that I haven't had a single one and I've noticed that by the time the 1/2 hour limit is up I've totally gotten through the craving.

I wanted to be in the "got my first e-cig and never smoked again" club but it didn't work out for me, either, Mike. I'm in the "smoked and vaped for a few months" club. I think somebody earlier in the thread mentioned how if you put pressure on yourself, it can make you smoke more. That's what happened to me, so I took a piece of advice that is handed out here on the forums to count the cigarettes NOT smoked. That turns discouragement into encouragement and it worked great for me. Eventually, I liked vaping more than smoking and switched over completely.

Just keep vaping. That's all. Just keep vaping. :)
