I have an Itaste vv v3 and I love it... but not it's 800 mah battery. It has served me well, and it's feature rich-ness in the size and shape it's in is great, but it not being able to last more than half a day (i tend to chain vape when i do pick it up, though I usually set it down for half an hour an hour in between) So I started searching out my next mod. I wanted to pick the right thing so bad I was stressing over it. Was looking at all different types of mods from the vamo to telescoping mechs and due to the suggestions I got from you fine folks I went with the Nemesis clone from hcigar.

I know, a fair number of you already have it most others will have already seen it so these pictures will be whatever, but I'm pretty thrilled so far, and kinda wanted to share my short Nemesis story with you's guys and gals.

I went in search of the elusive mod about a week and a half ago. I started reading everything I could and watching videos I'd already watched twice two more times. I made a thread asking for some advice and read other's threads. I settled on the HCigar M16 clone. Thought the look of it was very military and that was cool.. I read around on it and slept on it, woke up and went to work with the intention of coming home and ordering it. the intention. Instead I found that the place I was looking to get it from had sold out while I was at work. The horror. No problems though. I had a short list. I would simply go grab one of them instead. I had vetted them the night before along with the m16 clone.. they were similar, both telescoping.... and both sold out!

What was I to do? I couldn't find any of the three anywhere but fast tech for under 50 dollars, when where I had seen them had them for around 30 (no wonder they sold out huh? I'll not make that mistake again.) So I came here. I went through conniptions trying to figure out what to do, I wanted a mechanical, but none in the price range I wanted to spend looked like what I wanted. After going through I don't know how many pages one thing became a constant "get the nemesis"

At first I thought, "that looks unimpressive." The finish seemed like a fingerprint magnet and the mod itself looked pretty plain.. I wasn't a fan. But it seemed like everyone was suggesting it. they couldn't all be wrong right? I slept on it and the next morning I ordered my Nemesis from 101vape. I also ordered a charger and batteries.. all three from different places. I have to say 101vape was impressive. I ordered it on a Thursday night and Monday morning there it was.

The mailman handed it to me with a big smile and a bit of a chuckle as we seem to be getting to know each other much better lately :D
I ran inside and tore the package open. A nice thank you note on the invoice made me feel like I had picked the right company to order my neme from. I pulled it out of it's box and played with the different tubes for a minute (took me forever to figure out the kick ring was there HA!) after a few minutes of putzing with it I decided to see what it would look like with my igo w. I started to thread it down onto my new mech mod, ready to be proud of the look of it all, when it stopped. No matter what I did nothing I had wanted to go all the way down and I wasn't about to try and force it without knowing what would happen. After further inspection I saw that the airholes drilled into the top cap had been drilled into the threads and never cleaned.

A rasp, a dremel, a cheap 510 cartomizer and 5 minutes later my igo w was slipping in like.. well, yeah.. It looks like a beauty, except for that protank drip tip... and so the wait began. I had a mod but nothing to power it  one day went by.. then two.. and pow. My batteries are here, from halfway across the country and it only took 4 business days.

The batteries come with their own "these guys are awesome" story. I ordered my batteries from RTDVapor. 2 of the 2000mah 18650 aw imr's, I wanted to get one of the green sonys to play around with sub ohms at some point in the future, but they were out of stock. I winced and put my order through.. I'd just get that later. Well ECF's own baditude pointed out that they had the aw imr 18650 1600 mah batteries in stock, and they would be sufficient, at least for my needs. I was overjoyed, but had already placed my order! A help ticket and overnight reply from Randy later and the 1600 mah was added to my order. Without a doubt RTD vapor will be where I go for batteries now. Oh and thank you Baditude!

So now I had batteries and a mod! Woo Hoo! I used my multimeter and all three batteries had charges around 4 volts! I was able to vape a little off of my neme, but I really wanted to wait until I had a charger and could get them a full charge. so the wait went on. The mailman let me down very nicely the next two days when I ran out to get my charger and found he only had crummy adds for burger joints and furniture stores. On the third day he rang the doorbell and waited for me to run downstairs and get to the door (normally they like throw packages from the truck as they're driving away, I swear.) "Here's your... charger" he said as I plucked the package from his fingers and closed the door.

Xtar gets two thumbs up from me. most of the people on this site should own one. 40 dollars is damned worth it. just saying... So I run upstairs to what is now the vape room and start charging my batteries.. Wait time once again right? WRONG. Like I said the batteries already had a good charge and this Xtar made quick work of topping them off.

A little bit later I was fiddling with a new coil, a few minutes after that...

put the cap on my igo w and

Yeah, I'm somewhere behind that cloud.

FYI I used 30g kanthal a1 on a 2mm screwdriver shaft.. I think 6 wraps maybe 7.. With cotton wick. It reads 1.6 ohm

I'm sorry for making such a long thread for such a mundane topic but I absolutely love this thing. I have gone from settling for something because it was in my price range and I couldn't get what I actually want to being in a place where I couldn't be any happier with my purchase. Maybe something I said in here will help someone when they go to buy an upgrade from something to something else. Maybe not. Who knows. Vape On.

Edit

I almost forgot a couple questions.

Suggestions on a good 22mm rda and rta. Would like one of both that look good on the nemesis. Would like a brushed stainless finish.

Suggestions for mechanical mod maintenance?

There were others that ive forgotten now.... dangit

Nice and congratulations. I got my first mech last week, also a Nemesis, though in the brass variety. I've used both a Kayfun Lite Plus and an Origen V1 clone on mine, both of which are 22mm and have brushed stainless finishes. They both sat perfectly flush and looked great. I image they'd both look better on the stainless Nemesis though.

The kfl+ would be more of dream.. I would be more capable of affording a clone right now, and I can't find them. When I do see them in Stock the price hurts... some day maybe *sigh*

That origin looks sweet though. The post setup is interesting. Who is your clone by?

Anyone know where I can get a good straight sided wide bore drip tip in stainless?

Often, my choices don't concur w/ the crowd. I have several mods and have to say the 101vape SS nemesis is hard to beat.

My nemesis upgrades:

Polished machine marks off switch post.
Made a few different length firing pins from M5-0.8 bolts.
Deal extreme magnets.
Flattened lock washer switch throw shim.
Coke can magnet shims.
Anti-spin pin delete.
Stealth top vent hole drilled.

It works like a dream.

Very interesting. Is there a thread explaining these upgrades, or a video.. or sumthin? I've seen Todd show how to put in the magnets. I understand the concept of shims and the locking washer but not 100% that im right about where they would go.

Doesn't the nemesis already have venting at the bottom? Is the stealth hole for extra insurance? For venting from the top of the battery?

Mine works like a dream without the upgrades, can't wait until next month to have a budget again so I can see it upgraded

The $ 24 Russian clone from fasttech has been working really well for me. They also have a $ 21 version and a $ 14 Kayfun Lite ( no airflow control ) that have gotten very good reviews. If you don't mind the three to four week wait, they have some very affordable and well reviewed clones ( i have Taifun Gt and two other Russian 91 % clones on the way ).

I was scared when i saw the title of your post as i thought it would be a horror story. Glad to hear you ordered from 101, because i expect the exact same mod by Saturday ! Charger, batteries and magnets are ready !!

No thread or video that I know of.

Coke can shims under magnet to make switch actuation any desired firmness.

Bottom vent will likely be blocked from swollen batt. Batt more likely to top vent. Any small vent hole could plug w/ debris. If you want to overkill safety then choose mod w/ massive vent holes in tube. Chance of batt vent is slim if choose good batt.

If your nemmy works to your liking then vape on:)

I got mine from vaping tech. It's made by yeahsmo or something like that. I really like it, it's my favorite atomizer so far - the flavor from it is fantastic and you don't need to drip even half as often with the juice wells.

Just got my Nemesis from 101vape last week as well. Like you, I'm really enjoying it. It hits like Mike Tyson in his prime. Haven't made any changes to it yet, still just really enjoying the vape. Right now I'm just using an iClear 30 on top but even with that the difference is amazing. Couple things I've noticed:

1. This thing hits like no other. First mech so not sure if they all do this or just the Nemesis. HUge difference between this and my regulated mods

2. Smaller than I'm used to. Even in 18650 mode, it's much easier to tote around than my regulated mods. Prior to this I was carrying an eVic (also in 18650 mode). Standing them side by side makes you appreciate how much smaller this is

3. Well made. Can't compare it to the authentic but no issues with threading, finish, etc. Also really like that it's built like a tank - no worries about longevity/durability

So yeah, you could say I'm digging the whole mech thing. Starting to see why so many use them. It took me a minute to figure out the kick ring too. When it didn't fire I immediately thought "Oh God there's a short and I'm holding a pipe bomb! We're all gonna DIE!" Finally got that figured out before I freaked out and tossed it, grenade style, into the woods behind my house.

Once I figure out what gauge wire I need for my RBA, I'll be getting into that as well. (Not sub ohm though - at least no foreseeable plans).
