Ok so after running my V1 though the ringer since August of 09 I finally decided that I was tired of having to worry about switches failing and sending them off to get fixed (though I'll probably be sending in a couple anyway to keep it's backup status available)

Don't get me wrong I found the V1 to be a great device and viewed the occasional switch replacement as a very minor thing. I'd tried several different penstyles including a couple kissboxes before the V1 and those tended to have lifespans measured in weeks.

In fact it was that positive experience with the V1 that caused me to come back to PS now that I'm ready to retire it as my main smoke. So Last Friday I finally bit the bullet and ordered a V3.1.

Got it yesterday and thought I'd comment on it. It sure is nice to have a new smoke again. My V1 while a serious workhorse from which I easily got my monies worth out of. it was getting a tad anemic (switch failing again) this thing however steams like a locomotive.

So thoughts, I admit to being a bit apprehensive over the bottom button at first but I'm kind of liking it in practice. Its no where near as awkward as I thought it would be and the fact that it's pure mechanical just seems better to me from a reliability standpoint (lets face it the switch was the V1's only real weak spot)

The first thing I noticed was the size difference. This thing is positively tiny next to the V1 which is rather amazing considering it is using the exact same 2 134s that the V1 used I swear it looks like you could damn near fit the v3.1 tube inside the v1 ;-).

Next it's gorgeous I went with the media blasted option and it looks really nice with the silver BE112s I use. The size is a nice fit in my hand.

I was also somewhat concerned with switching to 6v from 5v but at least my beloved energy cow tastes good. It will be interesting to see what some of the more fruity flavors I have that didn't do well on 5v do on 6v if they'll be better or worse.

On that note you guys ever going to get a new clove flavor?

My only real nitpick is that the 801 adapter has a really shallow overflow well. I suspect this thing is going to be a bit more messy when I get those atomizers that just like to bleed out. So my one design request on the V5 or what ever the next one I buy is for a deeper overflow well.

Nice solid device that seems like a worthy successor to the V1.

So glad to hear you're digging the V3, Skex! Have you tried Casey's Clove in the Tonic line?

Oh hell if I'd seen that when I ordered I'd have totally gotten that instead of more batteries to get me over the $100 shipping threashold.

Oh well just have to wait for payday.
