That's sensible. Like you, I'd eventually like to ween myself off of nicotine. In an ideal world, anyway.

But if I were the OP, I wouldn't be too hard on myself. If whatever he's doing now keeps him away from tobacco, then that in itself is a huge victory. An indescribably huge victory. Only when you're 100% certain that the major victory has been secured should you worry about the smaller ones.

Oh I agree a million percent! My comment was to the person going off on those of us who are focused on reducing it. :)

I started with 36MG a bit over 2 months ago and was off smokes in 3 days...I always use higher nic in the mornings and taper down as the day progresses ..this prevents the acid indigestion that used to wake me every night. (yes I did the same with smokes) Now I start the day with 24MG...taper to 18MG for most of the day then down to 6MG after 8pm...I am not buying the 24MG in the future will use 18MG in the am(and during extreme cravings) 6MG during the days and dilute to 3MG evenings.
I am doing this not to quit nicotine but simply to rid myself of the annoying effects nicotine tends to give me. I also have cut down from 3 pots (yes pots) of coffee per day to 3 cups a day(over 6 months)...caffeine started making me jumpy after I passed 50....getting older is not for woosies. Pay attention to your body and use whatever level of nicotine and caffeine as it tolerates
