"My Posts"

i know this upgrade has not been an easy task and, over all, has gone fairly smoothly. thanks to everybody who has been working on this but ....
besides the problem of chronological order, which seems to be getting better, having to look for 'my posts' under the 'what's new' tab is really getting tiresome. yes, i know it's only one extra click but this is what i use constantly and so the clicks add up. i can't be the only who gets around the forum this way and i was hoping 'my posts' could be moved to the uppermost navigation bar, next to the facebook button since there seems to be no room on the bar where 'what's new' is located.
is there any hope??????

There appears to have been some change made to My Posts since late last night. The sorting still isn't right ... but, it appears to be slightly less random. And it appears to be updating a LOT more frequently.

EDIT: hmmm. Maybe it was an illusion. But, something appears to have changed.

EDIT: On closer inspection, I see some anomalies. Still, big improvement ... if that isn't an anomaly itself, LOL.
It appears somebody did something, and it appears to be an improvement.


POST EDIT: Dang, I don't know what happened. For a while there it seemed to be working. False hope apparently.

Good morning Alex. It really had me going last night when it appeared to be working right for a while.

It would be so nice if the search results were sorting in ascending order chronologically, like "Today's Posts" is, but having in common the fact that the user logged in has posted in the thread. This was the case for a short time before the software update. And, has not been true since then.

i had to start all over again when alex fixed search, lol

I love it. Now I don't have to wait hours to see new posts I've made show up in there.

It's a vast improvement.

after alex fixed the search function i had nothing left in 'my posts'. i'm not saying that is a bad thing just curious if others had to start all over again, too

What do you mean by lose history? There was a problem with the indexer so posts weren't showing up correctly, however they should be now. We're talking about My Posts under What's New right?

yes, alex, but all my old 'my posts' are gone. remember when you posted you had search 1% fixed? at that time when i went to 'my posts' it only showed the 3 most recent threads i had posted in. by now, i've posted in most of the threads i'm interested in, putting down new foot prints. i'm up to 14 threads showing in 'my posts' but before i had 6 or 7 pages full. like i said, it's not all bad but some of the lost threads only get a new post occasionally and it'll take some time to come across them again

Tiburon: I did not see my history disappear at any time. Kinda strange that you did. hmmm.

What I am seeing in the "My Posts" results is a great improvement!

It may not be possible to match the response one gets from the "Today's Posts" link. Dunno, I've never been on your side of the forum.

But, here is a side by side snapshot I just took...
This is "Today's Posts" .......... and .... This is "My Posts"

If you check the order of the posts, you'll see it isn't totally correct (assuming sorted by chronology is "correct"). But it is a huge improvement, it appears to be updating much more frequently too.
I, for one, appreciate your attention to this.
I'm sure lots of other folks will too!

I can't begin to guess what happened to your history. Odd! I just checked mine.
13 pages with 317 threads going back to mid February.

Maybe the snails ate your history?

My Posts history has vanished also.....

Let me go tell the indexer to reindex more frequently...

Reindexed, I also passed My Posts through a search filter let me know if that's any better.

My history had disappeared (maybe the snails did eat it), but was working nicely as it was rebuilt. This morning the rebuilt version is gone and there's a whole different 6 threads in my history.

I tried advanced search yesterday- and if i searched by post they were all there, but if i searched by thread it only pulled up the limited history.

My history was built back up yesterday & was all gone this morning...Tibs I know what you mean by history...It seems you can only have history when you post in threads & its kept through the time you are on...after you log out its gone except for maybe a few threads...

i had rebuilt my history - by last night i was back up to 17 threads. this morning i'm down to 11, some of them from the rebuilt history, some from the old history, lol
amazingly, the snail thread - response on threads - where i post every day does not show up anymore, omg. here i go searching again
