OK, I thought as my first weekend as a vaporer closes, I'd give my thoughts on what I think of vapeing so far, and maybe I could hear about your earlier experinces and how they differ, if you agree disagree.
First off, I have two Smoking Everywhere GOLDs. Yes I know, SE, lets get that out now, but one of these kits was free which made the price slightly more reasonable. I only payed 103 for both kits, and about 25 cartridges.
When I got my package I was excited, I had been trolling this forum every hour I was awake for the last week waiting on this thing, and I pretty much destroyed the packaging to finally get to it.
There was a slight learning curb to actually smoking them, but honestly not a very high one at all. My learning curb to learn how to smoke regular analog cigarettes was way higher. It took me a week of smoking before I actually got a buzz because I wasn't inhaling without realzing it. When I finally did, my innocent ... thought there must be weed or something worse in the cig because I "felt funny". Anyway, a few practicie draws in the mirror and I had it.
The wierdist thing to me about vapeing is that you don't even notice the transtition taking place. After the first day without analogs, I was taking walks and doing active stuff I hadn't done sense smoking. I wasn't craving nicotine, and I didn't notice any transition.
But subtlty comes in many forms. If there is a downside to vapeing for the purpose of dropping the analogs its that it doesn't feel quite as much like smoking as you'd think watching videos of it being done before you try it. For one thing like an ignorant cave man you slowly begin to form the scentence: "Smoke dry. Vapor wet." This makes it feel sometimes like your not really inhaling anything because its so tame, even with a strong flow of vapor and a high yield of nicotine. You can get what the veterans call a 'throat hit' but that doesn't feel anything like the harshness of an analog. Which in the long term is a good thing. But in the short term, its a bit like using a condom. Its no where near as pleasurable but its a hell of a lot safer.
The trick there is to just keep puffing. No matter what. Every time you think your sick of puffing air and you want an analog, drag on that e-cig like its your last meal. Because when you get over this hump the high yield nicotine liquid will catch up to you, and I've found the result becomes very different.
With this high nic stuff I can no longer puff and puff away. A couple of decent drags and I am good for a while. This may not be appropriate for some people, who should go with a lower nicotine dose so they can vape for as long as it would take them to smoke. And vapeing around smokers I didn't want an analog at first but when after two puffs I was ready to quit and everyone else was still enjoying there first cigarette, it was a challange not to ask for one. However for convince sake, the high output juice does kill the physical craving in a hurry, but a lower dosage might be better for getting rid of that psychological craving to hold a cigarette and make love to it for five or ten minutes.
The best part by far though is this: I'd almost recommend any doubting newb vape for about three days, and then smoke an analog. Go ahead, you know you want to, do it.....Who do you hate more yourself or the cigarette? If your like me its a hard debate. After trying an analog after three days of vapeing, sure I felt a little guilty, but far stronger than that was how disgusting the cigarette tasted. I felt it was actually good to try the analog one more time, just to realize what I am NOT missing.
