I woke up this morning feigning for some nic. My second battery wouldn't work last night when I went to sit in my bed and study (I'm in College) and my first battery was on the charger. I could have sworn my second battery was charged from last week.

When I woke up this morning I took my battery off the charger and put on my eVod. I tried to unlock my spinner and all it would do was blink as if the battery was dead. I had JUST taken it off the battery from overnight and the light showed it was fully charged. I took the eVOD off to try to turn it on without it and it STILL would not turn on! By this time I'm getting frustrated and am about ready to find a stale cig. I put my ce4 on and try that, nothing. Put the eVod back on, nothing. Then I take the eVod off and for the first time ever unscrew the tube instead of the base and get juice in my lap. Luckily it only about 1/3 full.

Since the eVod was already opened I decided to soak it in hot water to clean. That's when I noticed the clear rubber piece was missing on the head. Put the ce4 back on to try again thinking maybe i'm doing something wrong and nothing. Finally I try my last possible option and screw on a BLU cartridge. It WORKED! No clue what changed but it worked. So, I put my ce4 back on and now IT works. I'm at a loss, any clue what may have went wrong here? Is this a sign that my spinner is going bad after being charged only twice? I'm worried I may not be so patient next time.

Things I have noticed:

My clearos have been leaving small amounts of juice on the battery (I clean this off as well as I can before I charge it).
At first this was only on the top where it the battery contacts the metal clearo, but recently it is getting further down the inside of the battery.

My T3 actually flooded the battery and started leaking out of the screw on portion. (It is retired till I get more parts)

Questions:

Is this liquid from the clearos destroying my battery?

Is the liquid coming from the clearos because the parts need to be replaced or cause they need to be cleaned?

Are there any better options that won't flood my battery? (And don't require me to deal with punching, filling a carto - I'm not ready for that yet) I know I need more clearos and parts but I'll have to wait a few weeks before I can afford that.

I'm only 11 days into vaping. There is no way I can afford to get new batteries if they are the problem since I have dropped around $150 into vaping already. I can't even get parts till maybe 4/19 but could be as long as 5/3 (My tire just went bad on my van, having to get printer ink for school, and bills are heavy this check). I didn't think I would end up having trouble this early in.

Any suggestions are welcome. I'm thinking I may have to stick to the BLU cartridges till I can get some parts (luckily I am only on 1 of 5 but not sure how long they will last).

My setup:

Starter Kit MVS:
2x 1300mAh spinner
1 Kanger eVod (Soaking to clean)
1 Kanger T3 (flooded my battery, not using it now)
1 Vision eGo (the wick fell apart)
1 CE4 (Actually has not given me trouble!)
USB Charger
Wall Adaptor

BLU Vanilla HIGH Cartridges (It was that or no nic)

4x Juice from Vaporbomb (5ml Cowboy, 10ml Strawberry Waffle Add Whip, 5ml Churro, 5ml Hazelnut 50/50 12mg)
1x Juice from Smokecignals - local company (10ml Strawberry 50/50 12mg)
1x Juice from Blackvelvetejuice on the way (10ml Purple Dinosaur 70/30 12mg)

Used the CE4's awhile but switched to the Vision Vivis. Your head on the clearo may be slightly unscrewed allowing juice down the air way. T3's a friend and wife bought them and they also leaked- lots of tinkering but many LOVE them.

Is this liquid from the clearos destroying my battery?
The batteries are sealed and are "less" susceptible to damage from juice.

Is the liquid coming from the clearos because the parts need to be replaced or cause they need to be cleaned ?
The points at which they can leak:
Between the drip tip and the silicon cap.
where the head is connected to the air way.
at the base.
All the above have small O rings and if they are damaged or missing leakage will occur.
Where the plastic tank screws on to the base can also leak

Are there any better options that won't flood my battery? (And don't require me to deal with punching, filling a carto - I'm not ready for that yet) I know I need more clearos and parts but I'll have to wait a few weeks before I can afford that.
I've been using the Vision brand Mini Vivi Nova for 7+ months without any issues. My heads, with proper cleaning, are lasting 10+ weeks. Heads are inexpensive ($2.00) and easy to replace (10 secs). If buying make absolute sure it's the Vision Brand...knockoffs are problematic. My Vivi operating costs are 15 cents per week. I didn't have any issues with the ce4 but decided the build quality was better with the Vivis. Realize many problems encountered in regards to batt lights flashing is related to a short in the delivery device (holds and vaporizes the juice). The excess juice may have been shorting out the + and - connections.

Here's an in depth video by PB on the Vivi. Quite long but explains everything perfectly. Realize he using the larger 3.5 ml Vivi. For looks you may want to add a sleeve to hide the threads:

If I am already having a possible shorting problem with the battery is there any way to fix this or am I doomed? What is the best way to clean it if juice goes past that flat connector (near the screw ridges - sorry brain fart at the moment)? I can't reach it with a q-tip.

For cleaning the battery I just "roll" up some toilet tissue and clean it out. Always a good idea every 2? weeks to clean threads, battery connection and charger connection. I just had a fail on my PV which is only 2 weeks old and it turns out it was a bad/ dirty connection. eGo class batteries have a short protection BUT it not 100% fail safe. Battery will either flash or turn off. If you know someone with a digital multi tester they could test your batts and delivery devices...

THe edov's issuse was prolly the coil was loose. Each time you refill a edov check the coil to make sure it is tight to the finger.

i don't use the device(s) you are using, and this probably has nothing to do with your issues, but
the general consensus here is that you should not charge batteries overnight, or when you aren't home. you should watch them and once charged take them off the charger. this is a safety issue

It sounds to me like your battery shorted out.

I was rebuilding the EVOD last night and the wire can definitely short you out - sometimes they even get intertwined, and an eGo type batt may suffer unrepairable damage from that.

Have you tried plugging the battery back into the charger?

Do you have any other battery? Its usually good to have a solid and protected device like a VAMO (can be had for $30, not much more expensive than an eGo) for a fail safe backup.

If you really have no other options, PM me. I have a Warrior mod that is basically a large eGo so it fits your evods and mt3, using replaceale 18650 li-ion battery and has short protection. Just let me know shipping address and i can give it to you for free, just cover the shipping for me. i dont use it anyway and its not that good an item to be worth a sale.

sounds like that is not the model for you. i would go for a different unit. mechanical or upgraded V/V. no price is to big to remain cig free. and never charge your battery's unattended. with all the misery in Boston, we don't need to add to the national paranoia regarding potential explosive devices. it would not bode well for users of e-cigs.

This is exactly what both batteries were doing! That second battery took less than an hour for the charger light to turn green. All the button did was flash everytime I would press it or attempt to lock or unlock the battery. My husband does electrical work, IT, all around electronic guy. He has one of those testers. I'm about to go pull it out and test these batteries. I hope I don't lose these batteries. :( If I do, I'm not sure how long till I vape again. I'll end up back on analogs and I really don't want to do that.

My stepfather passed away from stage 4 lung cancer 2 years ago and I have 3 kids that are 5, 5, and 3. Not to mention I would like to quite for my own health and I made a pact. Started smoking at about 14 and I'm 26 now, so about 12 years. It's time to kick to cancer sticks to the curb!

Yeah its a really solid reliable piece and newbie friendly, and now that i have a ton of mechs and know how to build my stuff its not seeing a lot of use, while it sounds like she could benefit a lot from it. And i like to believe in only keeping whats enough for yourself.

When I clean my stuff I use isopropyl- evaporates very quick and cleanly. If not able to get into crevices do the best you can and then run a hair dryer on cool to dry it out.

I've been reading that this chemical tastes horrid and is hard to remove from a clearo, should I only use this on the battery?

I'm wondering if maybe one of your clearo's pushed the connector down on your batteries ... this is a known problem and there are few videos out there on how to fix it if it is indeed the problem. Good advice on the vivi's but what you already have should work well also.

Vape On!

Thanks! I will check on this. When I can afford it I will invest in a vivi and see how I like it/if it is a good fit for me.

THe edov's issuse was prolly the coil was loose. Each time you refill a edov check the coil to make sure it is tight to the finger.

I'll keep that in mind next time. For now I can't use it unless I find the clear rubber piece that fits between the head and the vape tube. It came off when I accidentally opened it trying to take it off the battery. :(

I didn't know that thank you! I'll have to be more vigilant about charging.

I'm so very sorry about your Stepfather...I'm sure he's looking down right now and feeling VERY proud of you  My wife's side of the family has also been ravaged by various forms of Cancer...a horrible disease.
And your kids will be thankful.
As for the batteries it's possibly a good sign that they're still turning off/ shutting down as it may mean they're still functioning properly. Usually when they fail nothing on them will work. I would also test the delivery devices (holds and vaporizes the juice) for shorts.
Glad your DH is a tech guy...we are sometimes useful :D

Yes only on the battery because it evaporates quickly and cleanly. As for clearos either warm water or PGA for the inside. Clearo threads can be cleaned with isopropyl.

Did you get any extra coil heads with the evod? They are about 1.20 to 1.50 a peice and some people even rebuild them
