Did this happen to anyone else? I'm going to contact them as soon as they go online, they hired new CS reps.
Not going to lie, pretty sad right now hahaha

I feel for you, the last one I got from them was dead on arrival and no answer from them yet. Hope you get the problem fixed. I myself are probably done with them, just not worth the frustration and headache anymore. Looking at it again it looks like your board might be jacked and you may have to try to move the printed circuit board to try and get that button back in place, unless like you say it's a totally different button style which would be very strange to say the least.

Roger that. Mine looks like that also. Looking closer I also noticed that one of the buttons appears smaller and a little more rounded than the other just like mine. I had thought it was intentional to serve as tactile feedback (you know...during a power outage or some such so you can tell which button you're pressing :) ).

Got mine from smoktek and it works flawlessly despite the odd button appearance. One of my co-workers bought his from Vapor Break also. I'll take a peek at it tomorrow to see if his is the same.

Regardless it appears to be a minor cosmetic issue. Shouldn't effect operation (at least it doesn't affect mine).

Interesting that you got yours from a different vendor and have the same issue. Do you both have the V1? Or V2?

One is flat the other is round and longer. I have a Black Chrome VAMO I got from VaporBreak and ExhaleVapors as well, and they both have the long round button. VaporBreak has been pretty good with their CS, very responsive, I'm sure they'll come through. Also I wanted to mention, aside from the bottons, the build on VaporBreak's VAMO is better than ExhaleVapors, my tanks actually sit flush, and the thread isn't bent.

Edit: Oh yeah, the right round button also doesn't click like the left, it sounds like its not sitting properly

Those are the same buttons, at least looking at the pic. It just means the board is slightly twisted - there are threads about fixing it, but basically you can reach in from the bottom very gently and twist it back into place. Mine will shift if it falls hard, but it has stuck pretty well otherwise:
Woo! Fixed it pretty easily, didn't have to buy a hemostat. GENTLY reach up with ic extractor tweezers (part of most cheap computer toolkits) and give it a twist. Be super super careful or you can cut traces on the board (rendering it useless) or pull parts off (rendering it useless) or even break it (rendering it ..you get the idea.)

You can also overtwist it, making the problem shift sides or breaking the buttons themselves (thereby rendering it..yeah.)

I don't think the vendors will swap it for that, but you never know.

Mike,

Thanks for the second picture, now everyone should be able to see that the left button has a flat surface and the right button sticks out like most of the previous Vamo buttons. What I believe is happening is that they probably are switching to the type of button that is on the left, which does not stick out as much, but whoever put that particular Vamo together did not bother to see that he did not have the same type installed on both sides. UNLESS this particular manufacturer decided to make them different so that they have a better tactile feel to differentiate the functions, which is kind of weird looking to say the least. All Vamo's are knock offs, they are produced by over 5 manufacturers in China. Distributors obtain various batches, at various times depending on supply and pricing, so you actually never know who manufactured your particular Vamo.

..or it looks exactly like every single vamo that has had the board twisted slightly, complete to the fact that (for whatever reason) it always twists to push the right button out farther..

(I took pics - any vamo will 'stick out' if you hold it horizontally, buttons down, and shake/tap it - but its hard to see that they stick out 2x as far horizontally as vertically.. When the board is twisted, 1 will go completely flush and the other stick out quite far.)

We both have the V2. And I mispoke earlier...he got his from Exhale Vapors. He does have one button that sticks out further (like mine) but both buttons are identical (unlike mine).

That's what mine looks like except the buttons are switched. My left button (looking at your photo) is the rounded one and sits lower and the right button is flatter and sits higher. Both have the same click to them. I think it looks kinda cool...certainly different.
