I just filled a brand new XL royalsmoker e2 cartomizer. I removed both sealing gaskets. Cut biffer wicking holes. Filled it, dripped some onto the wick and middle coil. Let it set for a couple hours. Blew it out to clear the inhale tube and I am getting a bad throat burn and nasty burnt flavoring.

So far I have tried this on 2 different ones and they are bother doing the same thing.

What the heck is going on?

There are multiple reasons why this may happen. Pinched wicks is one but you already enlarged the slots on the ring so...

What ohm level did you get and what device are you vaping on? Mismatched ohms/volts/wattage can give that. Also; did you clean/dry burn them first? Sometimes there's factory fluid on them but that usually gives an off taste not burnt, but still good to do.

Priming the coil is good to do and I see you did that. Are these the metal or clear CE2's?

I had this issue and the only thing that set them free was to perform the Pyramid Tea Bag Mod (search ECF for how-tos). After that, they were amazing, really amazing. Eventually stopped using them when I went to Cisco LRs but now there's word of the the CE3s finally coming out in mid July (I think they've been in the works for a year), it's showtime!

From what I read, the 2.4-2.6ohm versions of the CE2s just couldn't wick fast enough on a 3.7v device.
