zmauls, I don't know. But I just wanted you to know that I'm going to be right here waiting for the answer right along with you. ;-)

Sorry. No offense meant. Just funnin' with you. I couldn't resist. Actually, have you read the sub-ohm kit thread? I think it has been mentioned.

EDIT: start around post #1850 or so on the Mechanical REOs are getting some upgrades thread.

So far from what I am gathering on here it seems as though below .5 or .6 that sparking is occurring. Above 1 ohm reports seem to indicate no sparking. Reports of sparking with button tops and flat tops.
This is what i condensed from posts that mentioned sparking:

rjeatkrconley .39 ohm..sparking on flat top

jazzguy .6-.7 sparking on flat top and button
1.0 intermittent sparking

Doots .9 no sparks flat tops

SuperXdrifter 1.3 no sparks button top

waho .4 sparks flat tops

zmauls probably very low ohms sparking

Just thinking out loud:

Have y'all with sparking filed all the paint off your mod in the area where the spring sits?

Not sure that it does anything but I filed all of it off down there and can tell you that silver hammertone is harder than black wrinkle to file off :)

No sparking no arcing just plain rockin :)

use noalox no sparking for the super sub ohm guys

So Rob, you're saying us super sub-ohm (0.20Ω here) guys should use Noalox? What about filing and such? Or just apply Noalox every so often?
