Miss ya @Jerms, but hope you are doing well and happy. You have talent as an artist, keep it up!
Thanks clnire! Here's a lighthouse I sold to a local church and my last portrait commission. (I'm an endless self-promoter ;-) ).

Hello, NETizens.

Just wanted to offer up my intro and maybe learn a thing or two.

I quit the stinkies 7 months ago. My first ejuice purchase was a dark rum coffee and an "American" style synthetic tobacco. I loved the first and dumped the second. I figured tobacco vapes weren't for me and went in other directions.

A few months ago, I tried some Nicoticket Virus and Wakonda. I really liked both and began rethinking my exclusion of tobacco flavors.

Then, I got a number of RBFS NETS. I finally opened the Poet & Scholar and have hardly put it down.

I kept looking at this thread and thinking, "I'm not reading 600 pages..."

I jumped in on the reading about 5 pages ago.

I'm a tootle puffer grade vaper, 7-9 watts on a bottom coil clearo at 2-2.5 ohms. Although obsolete by the standards of many, it works for me.

I bought enough of the RBFS at the most recent price reduction to keep me busy for a year or so. By the time I exhaust those, maybe I'll know my way around the world of NETS.

I remember a post about some of the flavors diminishing in some of the RBFS flavors. How long do I have to get through my stash before they go south?

Happy Labor Day. Look forward to getting to know you and finding time for another invasive megathread....

Thanks.

Jay :headbang:

@Magaro, @Vicman, @Henry Etta, are folks who got me to vaping Excalibur ..like right now :D
Finally bought myself the 60mL bottle! It's my special treat because I never pay that much for juice, but this one is worth it. I'm not the one with the broke bottle, though.
And since I was ordering, I got the Raven, Oak Cask, and a cig sampler (NS Dark, NS brown, and Big Spirit-- NS was my brand when I quit). Got E-MC as a sample too. So far so good... I REALLY like Oak Cask. But as it's only been about 2 weeks, it's still hard to tell...

Really guys, just three respondents? All these NET extracts will be going down the drain. Don't be afraid that you'll seem greedy by asking for too many. You can get a max of 10 and that limit is only because I'll probably run out of bottles.

If your not set up for DIY I can mix some juice in your preferred base. This is for the old timers on this thread and the limit will be 3 - 30 ml bottles. You will have to chip in for supplies.
Wait, what??! I just found this!! Sending PM...

I am SHOCKED at the results. Patriot...LEGEND...and O#1. Good grief. None of the three would be in my top-5. But hey, that's just me.

A few things I noted:

Best Overall - The top 3 are embarrassing. Seriously.
NOTE: I have been around the block with most vendors and more DIY guys than I can count...and until the gunk comes in I still say W2V Louisville is the top production NET on the market.

Best Sweeter - Shocking yet I am not shocked at all that VB finally went down. With CWW proven to be a synthetic the field was wide open I suppose. TPR Candied Cav is a fantastic juice...though due to NANNERS I couldnt finish a tank...but I respect it. It says something 'bout you evil nanner lovers that this got more votes than the more broad based Burley & Candy. I am not sure WHAT it says but it aint good. I must have got a bum bottle of RBFS PDST beacause I get no flavor from it, and in fact only a barely passable amount of flavor from Fab & Burl.

Best Drier - another head scratcher. For what it is I enjoy Southern Gent very much, but to me this is a very excellent entry-level juice for someone wading into English Blends. That alone is OUTSTANDING, but BEST drier??? No comment on Huntsman. I am really surprised some of the Latakia blends didn't make this list. NETCOM SCT is a favorite of a lot of people I know outside ECF as well. More later. The NS Dark might have been my most disappointing juice of the year. I had super high hopes and this one left me flat. Maybe I should try it again.

Single Varietal - RBFS SJP is really a fine juice. I said it long ago, it is a perique done by a true and knowledgeable perique lover and it shows. That said it is just baby steps better than NETCOM's offering. Those babysteps are GIANT LEAPS on some miniscule level, but still. Surprised the NETCOm didnt make it if perique lovers were voting. The NETCOM SCT is really encouraging to see. This is a juice old fart lifelong smoker guys I know use as a ADV after many failed attempts at other NET's. It is pretty damn good all by itself.

Best Fruit - REALLY? I just can't get behind Pendragon. I tried REAL hard but it turned on me. IT IS NO UNCLE BJ...which finally gets the praise it deserves! Legend...gross. Wasn't there a debate at one time if this should even be considered a fruit bacco? NETCOM Black Cherry is lacking, and from what I hear nowhere near the same stratosphere as some of NETCOM's new fruitbaccos, let alone their Mango Vanilla. I can only assume many voters had not sampled the new offerings late. A special note that while I am not surprised that TPR Honey Fig missed the list...it does not READ like something you may like and I guess many haven't tried...that juice is a real accomplishment and one of a kind.

Best Flavored - Were the ORIGINAL Ahlusion NET's not eligible? MAPLE BURLEY anyone? Otherwise I would honestly only try 2, maybe 3 juices on this entire list and a few I think are just not good, period. It seems the voters didn;t really know what to do with this category. Clearly, and I cannot believe I haven't already, I need to order Count Caramel stat. I got the whole line when RBFS launched but haven;t tried the second round of juices yet.

Best Cigar - Interesting. I said it when it first came out, 3-Crowns was worthy of being the NETCOM "flagship" cigar, and was the best production cigar I had other than Managua to date. Since then I have had a number of DIY stogies that take the cake, but as for production juices 3-Crowns holds it own and I still vape it. Managua's disrespect is upsetting...but maybe that makes me a traditionalist. I am guessing many voters aren;t really "cigar guys" because the Dagwood and P&S choices are not for the cigar enthusiasts. Don't get me wrong, I think both are really well done, P&S in particular is a real accomplishment and a totally unique juice, but there are so many great cigars out there...REAL cigars. This list is just weird to me, but to each his own and the vote shows that. Curious not to see any MVJ selections on there given all they offer. I still havent finished any of the original batch of juices I got from them, they were just all too lacking in power, but I heard they upped the % of extract so I would have expected to see them get a vote or two. BTW Gypsy Blonde is NOT a cigar. It is NETCOM's take on a 1980's version Gitanes, I believe

Best Pipe - OK, don;t take this the wrong way, but this vote tells me all I need to know about the voters. The first two for my money aren;t even pipe blends...and Dat Caramel? REALLY??? OK, maybe I need to try it if it gets this kind of love but I still dont think it belongs in this category. I think Admiral's and Southern Gent are out of their league here, just my opinion. I get the ap[peal of O#1...there is a sweetness to that vape that is all its own. Porch Rocker is a respectable choice. So many snibs for those other far infeerior, not even traditional pipe juices. W2V Louisville & London, A+ Bluegrass Burley, NETCOM Black Cavendish, QNJ Grandpa's Nightcap, even EV King's Crown. I mean how does not a single TRUE English Blend make this list?

Best Cigarette - Big Spirit and Organic Spirit are aces. I am vaping some OS right now. With all the supposed Perique lovers around here I am surprised Speaking Spirit got no love...that is a really nice vape. To leave Paris off this list is criminal, period. I get it, I cant vape it either...but that third hit of a fresh coil with Paris is HEAVEN. Thus is should be no surprise that NETCOm Poilu was snubbed here. Poilu is a real gift for Paris lovers, about 75% of the flavor impact of PAris with half the gunk. A really good take on Gauloises. I can only think many haven;t tried this, because not making this list is criminal.

Best English/Latakia - Apache reigns supreme. That stuff really is good. That said, I would dare anyone to take the Pepsi challenge with NETCOM Balkan and tell the difference...it can be done, but not by all. And yet Balkan gets less than half the votes. LOL. Bombay does, which believe it or not I havent had. I still vape Apache and Balkan though. Apache holds it own over time, and here even in the newer vapers eyes, and that is why it is a hall of fame NET...like the Ty Cobb of NET. The all time latakia king is Devil Dog! of course. Now that I see A+ juices not on here across the boards I am guessing that though they were still in production part of the year they weren't eligible for this. I might have had NETCOM Smoked Latakia on here. That stuff is freaking precious.

Best NET RY4 - WOW! OurWhy4 finally unseated??? WWBHS? I havent tried this year's champion yet...and I may not. RY4's have turned on me for some reason, even the very best. Nice to see clay get noted here. That NETCOM whether by design or luck is like the perfect marriage of traditional and custom RY4 profiles. A solid B or B+ on the BIG list, I believe.

Best Synthetic - I admit it...I still vape more CWW than any other juice. That said, my last bottle even after a long steep was just missing something. Anyone else have a similar issue this year? There are a few juices that are MUST tries in the synthetic world for next year's ballot, take it from Uncle BJ. Good Life vapro - Deadly Sin is really something. Their Pop's Pipe - a artibacco fused with chai tea latte and vanilla bean is in the mail to me as we speak. Also Stout Vape Co. BROWN BEAR - Cavendish, Cigar, Graham cracker, and bakery. I have heard GREAT things from DIY NET guys. No joke.

Honorable Mentions - OK, I have heard this NETCOM grilled pineapple is quite something. Sit on old Uncle BJ's lap and tell him all about it.

Vendore Reporting - Like a Phoenix from the ashes, NETCOM goes from most bashed to far and away #1?!?! All the while turning out like 72 unreal interesting NET offerings. WOW.

Good call on a lot of these BJ and I will add my two cents.

1 cent) I agree with Patriot being number 1. Though it might be a schizophrenic juice to those of us who are hardened veterans it still remains the most wide appealing flavorsome net for the masses. Even now, mich like yourself, there are days I MUST have Patriot. There are so few other juices I must have. As a guide to newcomers I think Patriots reign as the top NET serves the Net vaping community well.

2) this NETTY award was not as highly represented as previous instalments. There wasn't the same number and depth of voters this time around with many veterans not even being around for it to add the same level of depth and discernment. I do believe this is why some of those old classics like W2V didn't make a big showing.

3) the market has expanded and become more competitive with new vendors out there such as Black Note and EThervapes. Though they may not have figured greatly in the top 3 categories they would have created greater dispersal in the voting. There is also a much wider selection of juices from the established and we'll known vendors which would have also dispersed the voting.

Ultimately, the voting lacked depth and I believe one reason for this is because those who may have a more informed and developed palate for nets are creating and vaping their own home brews so what is left in the market is newcomers, intermediates and people like myself who don't have time to make their own NETs.

I just placed a big order with www.Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco.com, e-liquids for electronic cigarettes, as someone here informed earlier, they have a 15% off Labor Day sale through Monday 9/7/2015. My old standby's Organic Sprit, Anthony's Rum Rebellion, Izmir-Oriental, and a Peaches and Cream NET hybrid I've never tried before but sounded too good to not try :D

I'm new to NETs. I've been vaping a couple years or so. I got so terribly bored with eliquid that I went unflavored 100% vg for a long time other than an occasional bottle of Bobbas Bounty. I've got several cigar and pipe tobaccos I ordered from P&C cold macerating. A few of those I rushed through the crock pot method. I sampled them a little at full strength and they were surprisingly good. I'm letting them age a bit though.

Do all NETs have that grassy flavor on top? Will that go away with ageing or in increase?

I ordered both NET offerings from Steamy Vapor and they have that strong grassy flavor too. The flavor intensity from those liquids was really strong while the RBFS was much milder.

I also ordered some RBFS from Vaping Watch. The Porch Rocker didn't have that grassy flavor but the St James Parish did. Is it the type of tobacco (I think it's called Perique) that contributes that flavor? It's something I'm getting used to but it was off putting at first.

As for Vaping Watch he was great to deal with. There was some problem with my two orders due to the credit card processor. "Watch" doubled my RBFS order for free and also threw in a free bottle of Monkey Spunk and Clockwerks. Plus it all got here quickly.

Some of you were asking about custards. I have vaped several of those.Clockwerks from VW is different but impressive. It's a touch "drier" and a tad less sweet than some others. "Watch" calls it a "proper Bristich custard". I know nothing of of that but the juice is really good. You might try it if you're ordering some RBFS and want to try a custard.
I totally agree, Clockwerks Custard is probably the best juice I ever vaped period, lol. Including my beloved NETs! :D It's my desert vape of choice, but rather pricey... if I find another custard as good at a better price, I will be surprised, and happy.

A question regarding extract:

I'm teetering on the edge of DIY but, not quite ready to leap. i should probably ask this in the DIY forum but, thought I'd try here first. Would y'all suggest I order something like MVJ's nic base pre-mixed or should I go ahead and get the seperate PG, VG, nic?
Unflavored Base - Nic Juice, ~DIY MIXING Supplies~, MyVapeJuice, LLC

I have a lot of reading and studying to do before getting started but, wanted to take advantage of sales happening now.
Wizard Labs is having a sale and have some good prices on PG, VG, and nic.

Should I get 100mg nic or something closer to my target level?

Thanks!

Get separate nic, pg and vg. 100 mg nic is more cost efficient. You will also need a good eliquid calculator. I use ejuicemeup by breakthrough software (would post a link but on my phone), but there are several out there.

Gonna try some of Boomer's stock. Pretty pumped. Currently just freeze filtered my own ethanol-extracted 1792 Flake. Got a H&H Burley Kake coming up next.

Anyone have a good tip for a starter deal on 1-2 micron filter paper (or felt)? I don't feel like I need to be buying 50 or 100 sheets until I know whether this hobby is going to "take" for me. Everything on Amazon seems to be bulk packaging

I agree 100 mg nic is more cost effective, however it is rather :danger: dangerous for beginners because of potency. I would recommend 36 mg nicotine to start out with.
