Mike, I've extracted a few tobaccos that had already been done because I liked them a lot but most of the time I'm looking for something different and previously untested. Given the vast array of good tobacco blends available, it is easy to stay original.
Just so someone doesn't get the wrong idea, Perique exrtracts beautifully and easily in blends or alone. In addition, Virginia is a wonderful part of the flavor profile in many blends and it also translates very well when extracted.

I agree about Perique extracted wonderfully for you home brewers, especially VA/Per blends. Oh myyy.
