Got my Magma setup too.. Beast mode, on the Panzer!

I finally have something solid that I can test RBFS juices on. :)

Wait a minute...I never knew (or I just totally went brain dead) on the fact that a Magma is a bottom-fed airflow! Man, I have been wanting a good atty with bottom-fed airflow. Now I want one.

Yeah, it was that plus the fact that the well can hold over a ml or more of juice thus requiring far less dripping in an almost completely leak free environment that made me get one. It's not been disappointing me thus far.. chucking out flavour and vapor galore. Get one!

That's why I like the SCAR. But the Magma has adjustable airflow (unlike the SCAR), and holds lots more wick/juice. After a year of vaping, I have began to enjoy the performance of a looser inhale. Lower the nic, airier draw -- yes, you are a vaper now ;)

The Magma or the Veritas (or the Plume Veil) clones are on my wishlist.

Which Berry flavors have you found to be good? I've only tried a few and haven't cared for them much.
So if you would be willing to share that info i would be very grateful.

lavender,

I currently have 81 bottles of fruit flavorings in my flavorings cabinets. Replying to your question would be more work than I want to take on. Suffice it to say, however, that half of them will never get used, because the only fruit flavorings I like are those that taste like real fruit. What I can advise is to get yourself a bottle of LorAnn Tart & Sour, which is very helpful in "rescuing" certain fruit flavors that are artificial-tasting or don't pop with vibrancy.

I have been wanting to try a Vanilla Skye can you give a description. I like MOV White leaf and AGL VWW but they are kinda similar just one I'd heavier on tobacco and the other is the opposite. The Peoples Vape makes a good sweet Creamy coffee vape.

Still trying to figure out how to get some of the dryness out of one of the NETs I have without diluting it farther which does seem to help.

Lavender, I edited your post to just address these for now.
EtherVapes describes Vanilla Skye as: "Vanilla Skye is a mixture of Burley, Virginia, and Black Cavendish as the basis for one of our most outstanding liquids. It is sweet and creamy with an amazing tobacco base." I am sure the vanilla and creamy are added flavorings. It is a sweet tobacco, with a creamy vanilla flavor. Clear as mud, eh?

As for the dry NET you have, if you are referring to my Lane RLP extract, well, it is dry!!! Not that the extraction process was bad, just the tobacco blend itself makes for a very dry, meh (technical term) vape. I am going to play with some flavors, see if I can make it more enjoyable (I certainly have enough of the extract!), but I don't have high hopes. I fear it is just one of those tobacco blends that does not translate to a nice vape to me. The extraction process is a learning process, and now the hardest part for me is finding the right tobaccos to extract!!!! But I find the RLP rather boring... The Lane BCA is another kinda boring one. A nice black cavendish, but just that, just another black cavendish. I have had better...

So I diss my own extractions! Not that I did a bad job with the process, just for a first attempt did not pick the best blends to extract. Go figure? A newby has to learn, sometimes the hard way. But it sure motivates me to learn more and try more and keep going! I think I understand the extraction process itself, which was my goal. Goal achieved (so far, still more experiments to do).

Since you guys are talking RBAs, I highly recommend checking out the VLS Vulcan. It's a great (non-clone!) atomizer for the money. The SoCal crowd has been bugging me lately, with a big emphasis on collectibility. I get it, but it's not really my thing.

On a NETizen note, I've been vaping some True Leaf Tobacco NETs. They're good, but not quite great. Still, compared to most of what's available at retail in SoCal, they're a superior choice.

No complaints from the peanut gallery, vaping the BCA right now matter of fact found I had to add a little back to the little bottle I diluted down I am enjoying but I wouldn't know "just another black Cav" if it smacked me in the face lol. I think it's pretty great, want to add a little something but I don't want to play with it and potentially ruin it. The RLP I have to go back to. I cant find the little dilute bottle I had it's only a 3ml REO bottle they are very easy to misplace!

I wasn't asking for a review of all of your favors just which are good, like you said most won't get used. I was simply trying to save myself from the "most" I am looking for a good Raspberry for something I'm working on. Thanks for the additive info

For my first sampling of RBFS's newest NETs I decided to go for... Caven Fever, a pure black cavendish, which I've been vaping for several hours in a rayon wicked IGO-S.

Black cav differs from other cavendish in that it's, well, black, but it also goes through more processing and fermenting which results in it's dark color. I don't have a bunch of info on black cav, but I know it's steamed with water that often contains sugars and flavorings (I think the steaming is process regular cavendish doesn't go through, but I'm not certain on that), is pressed into cakes and allowed to further ferment.

The product can be very different depending on the maker. It can be made with different varieties of tobaccos, the selection of flavors used for casing differs, and the processing used can differ. Because of that, I've tried to avoid saying I don't like black cav, just that my limited experience with it has been underwhelming. That's mainly based on my experience with a couple NETcom blends that contained black cav. Not that I found the flavor bad, just not something I was really attracted to. There was a funky note I didn't care for that distracted me from the other flavors

Many people absolutely loved NETcom's black cav offerings, so it was disappointing that I didn't enjoy it the same way they did. I was hoping RB's version might give me a better experience with black cav, and well, it certainly does.

This tobacco is made with all fire cured tobaccos, though the processing pretty much erases the spice and smoky kick from fire cured leaves. It's sweet and very smooth and full. While the flavor is largely the same as I've experienced from other black cav, it's just much more palatable for me here. The overall flavor is downright tasty and highly enjoyable. And that distracting funk I've experienced before? Nope, seems totally absent here.

Brian has introduced me to a black cav I can get down with. He said it's one of his favorite sauces, and I see why. I'm not sure if it'll end up being one of my favorite from the line, but I'm very happy to discover I enjoy this so much.

Hey, I've used one of those before!

Ask all those "collectors" what matters to them most regarding to vaping. If they say collectibility, then they are first and foremost a collector. If they say the vape itself (flavor, nic, TH, clouds or whatever), then it is just part of their thing. Frankly, I prefer to roll with vapers who are first and foremost vapers.

I can see it now -- one day the vape gear collectors will be buying mods and attys and leaving them in the package like action figure collectors. "Look, it's not even used, and never been touched -- not a single finger print! It's such a great mod." :?::vapor::facepalm:

[Edit: in this post when I am talking about collectors, I am almost positive that I know what RPad is getting at (though I am not immersed in that culture). It's not merely people who buy up a lot of mods/gear, it is something much more persnickety than that.]

boomer,

In June, I made extract from an ounce of Hearth & Home Signature Berry Nice pipe blend, which is supposed to be Green River Black Cav steamed with the essence of wild betties, black currant, and blackberries. I wasn't sure I'd like it, but I wanted to try a fruity tobacco.

Well, I can taste the berries, but not much. It's more like the aura of fruit than the taste of fruit. I've got oodles of fruit flavorings, however---some of which are quite authentic tasting (rather than little-kid candy artificial jolly-rancher-type fruit flavors)---so, I think I'll whip up a bottle of Berry Nice with a couple of additional fruit flavorings like blackberry and raspberry. I still don't know for sure that I'll like that, but when I want fruit with my tobacco, I want FRUIT with my tobacco, dammit!

I made an extract of berry nice and didn't enjoy it either. If you really want a Cavendish with a strong berry flavor try this Black currant Cavendish, it takes a lot of filtering but the currant is fairly strong:

Peter Stokkebye 45 Black Currant Cavendish - PipesandCigars.com

On the commercial side there is Down east vapes blue mountain, they really know how to do it right, the blueberry is just right.

One of my good friends has around 30 mods, including several that have never been used. To be fair, he's a collector of many things -- comics, videogames, toys, etc. I make fun of him all the time for buying really expensive mods that he never uses. That said, the gear that he does use, he uses the hell out of.

Well, I guess I can understand where people like that coming from. After all, I got plenty of liquid I never use!

Been vaping a couple from EtherVapes; came in Monday and steeped for the suggested time by them. Have to say I am enjoying the two opened first. Very smooth vapes.

The first is Midnite Lite. I can't seem to put it down tonight because it's just tasty as all heck. It has a slightly earthy? taste to it (almost musty, like what the forest smells like in the morning if that makes any sense to anyone) with a light chocolate taste on the exhale. I don't taste the honey or vanilla yet; has only been steeping for three days. Also, that's quite okay with me not to taste the honey as it has never been a taste that I like to vape. Also, I like the way this one makes my office smell on the exhale. Think that is called room note (not sure bout the lingo yet, just hoping to make some sense, lol). I was hesitant to order this one cause the chocolate and honey but am glad I did.

The other one I had last night and this morning was Nomad. I liked this one as well. It has a more of that earthy taste mentioned above but has some other stuff going on I can't quite explain. It kinda reminds me of a cigarette a little. Think that is why I enjoyed it so much this morning with my coffee; brought me back a bit. By the way, that was the first time in about a month that I didn't have a menthol liquid with my morning coffee; didn't even notice till my get up and go got up and went. Nice. Still have four more to try and hope I like them as much as I did these.

The other thing I liked about this company was the customer service. Vash sent me an email to thank me for my order about a half hour after I placed my order. Never had that happen in all my orders with all sorts of different vendors so far and felt kinda like he really meant it. Was a nice touch to say the least.
