I have the three French oriented liquids being Poilu, Gypsy Blonde and Gypsy Brunes which I will be trying in the next few days. I am sure there are going to be a lot of winners in the new releases by NET.com.
The French-cig style blends are amazing fresh OOB. I've found that they don't even need a steep and that the flavor has been relatively consistent since I received them (wow, been over 30 days.8/19 mix date) up to now, however, the receipt of the magma recently has really brought out the enjoyment factor and crispness of the juice (I did drill double-twisted 32awg; wrapped around a bigger bit whose dimensions I cannot recall at the moment). Using a contact coil, working really great through and resisting gunk admirably (all twisted wire seems to resist gunk better. I wonder if it has to do with the slow heating and cooling process that twisting creates? I tried triple but it was 'meh' as far as the heating times, so I just pulled it) so I'm going with a ....am I on my 6th refill or 7th with this wick? I forget.
Anyhow, it has FC Blackberry Burley in it and the next fill will have something to do with Smoked Latakia. I find that it has a bit more "smokey" presence over the "Latakia 'bite'" most are experienced with, in its single varietal form. If you like FCB, the single-varietal Smoked Latakia is right up your alley: especially if you enjoy Latakia.
I don't find fire-cured to make a flavor too intense, in fact, I find the Blackberry Burley to be relatively mild in comparison to Balkan, or even Poilu.
Seems to "smooth out" the flavor by imparting a more smokey smoothness right off the bat.
NETCom makes what I would consider to be the best fire-cured / smoked tobacco offerings around.
NET tRY4.1 has some fierce competition when it comes to GJ4, though. I've had both and I'm teetering towards throwing some other extracts in there, just to see what happens. GJ4 is a bit of a gunker compared to tRY4.1, and if my memory of appearances is correct, looks to use some kind of fire-cured tobacco in its base. It's awful dark stuff, but vapes well.
tRY4.1 from NETCom is a light juice, in comparison. It's also a lot easier on the coils; I'm going to do some tinkering around with the flavor and see what happens.
But yeah, honestly, I can't really tell a difference between steeping and not, except with synthetic tobaccos and flavoring.
Once in a while, I get a juice that has
some change while steeping, but I vape them as I go, so it's harder for me to tell. A drastic change is obviously more of a green leaf in a white forest; it's a telltale sign that that juice needs to be given some time in the "tobacco tea timeout" bin.
