Yep. I made the mistake of loading up some Backwoods Brew Maple I got from Juicy in the Magma. I forgot it was 18 mg. and I'm at 6 mg. trying to go to 3 mg. Man, talk about heart palpitations and the sweats. I diluted the stuff down to 3 mg; much better.

Boomer,

You mean you diluted it 5:1 with unflavored PG/VG? (1ml @ 18mg/ml = 5ml @ 3ml/ml.) I'd think that would pretty much dilute the flavor to almost nil, but apparently not.

Petner's Pipe from RBFS loaded in the Origen. I really think this is going to be one of my favorites of the new Fog Sauces. Less cased with flavoring than the delicious Count Caramel and Admiral's Pipe that I vaped yesterday, more of a grassy, dry tobacco lightly topped with rum raison with. Those other two have an extremely enjoyable flavor, but often I prefer the multiple notes of tobacco found here with the flavors adding subtler complexities.

I'm enjoying the vape experience more in my Origen today than my Magma yesterday. Flavor just as good, but minus the ravaging kick. I like a warm vape, but yesterday was just too hot of a blast, which I'm hoping to remedy with higher resistance for it's rebuild.

I extracted half an ounce of Cornell & Diehl Autumn Evening pipe blend last week. It's cased with maple and vanilla, but very lightly, so that the additional flavors are quite subtle. They remain floating in the background, more an aura than a strong presence, letting the tobacco shine, but augmenting it wonderfully without turning the blend into a dessert vape. Yum.

Heavily flavored tobacco can be really good, as long as the flavorings added to the tobacco are tasty in vape form, bit there's something special about subtly flavored tobaccos that go easy on the casing.

Switched over to RBFS's Admiral's Pipe, which is another big win for me. Seems more heavily cased than Petner's, probably because it contains some black cav, but the chocolate and vanilla aren't heavy at all and the Burley and Virginia still come through.

It's interesting you say this.

The 1st time I ordered NETs I had the same experience. They had a mustiness I didn't like and wrote them off. I actuallu hated them.

I stayed with the vapeland flavors I was used to and put them away for a number of months.

I came back to the N-E-T juices I had and found that they no longer had that same flavor to me. not sure what changed, but I wound up really enjoying them.

the one thing I've found is that NETs do smell a bit odd out of the bottle, oily, musty etc... but they don't often taste the same way they smell.

I also found that if I vaped them like a pipe, short puffs and exhaling through my nose as opposed to inhaling them into my lungs, they had a completely different flavor. They were indeed very tobacco-y when exhaled nasally.

I'm still not sure if it's my taste that have changed, if I was overly sensitive since I was still only a few months into vaping ,or what. But after coming back and "learning" what i consider to be the ideal way to taste them, (nasally), I really enjoy them now. When done right, NETs are the closest smoking experince i can find but I do seem to take some getting used to, as well as not vaping them like their fruit or pastry flavors...

I also notice they have a very tobacco-y room odor as well, but a sweet tobacco leaf odor, not the odor of combustion.

Maybe put them down for a few weeks and steep them as well and come back and try the "pipe" style of vaping and see if you get the tobacco experience I now am very happy with...

ALSO: keep those coils clean, or change them often. You get really quick carbon buildup and that will ruin the flavor. I dry burn at least once a day and am digging these a lot now...

Fantastic post Cloudcity, thanks for that. I was looking for this thread to update Dusty (He appreciates your post also lol) and my "find posts" led me to page 855 to read your response now the thread is up to 950!? Jumpin beans man this one moves quick. (I know its been 3 weeks ha) I need to become more adept at "subscribing"

That said I have found 2!! of the NETs from NET and VapeJuice to finally start mellowing out and Im digging them! They have been steeping well over 4! months. Im trying them at lower wattages, and even much higher like 36 (Very warm and intense, like it) Later

Would you mind explaining the term "full inhales", please? Also, what nic level are you using?

Hey Dusty, I am a typical mouth to lunger. I take a nice long inhale into my mouth, inhaling for about 3-5 seconds, and then draw it into my lungs. I don't hold for longer than a second and then exhale.

With the Magma I am finding that I am unconsciously taking a shorter draw, maybe half of what I take in.

I used 18 mg until about 3 months ago and dropped to 16 mg and then to 12mg with my most recent batches. I have used 18mg, 16mg and 12 mg liquid in the Magma.

Regards

Anthony, sounds like you're heading in the right direction with nicotine and that's great! However, are you experiencing any flavor changes while dropping the amount of nicotine? I did.

I'm on a Dibs List for a Magma clone. I'm also still at 24mg nic with 18mg the lowest I can go as of now. Do y'all think 24mg is too much for a Magma style? This will be my first toe-dip into building as well.

Thanks

Lowering the nic level is extremely common when going to rebuildables because they produce more vapor and go through juice quicker. I was using 18mg for around a couple years using disposable atties, then lowered to 12mg not long after switching to RDAs. My nic level was lowered, but I'm certainly not taking in less nic throughout the day.

If 24mg nic is what you're used to, you'll be fine with it on the Magma as long as your not building sub-ohm and opening up the airflow for massive clouds. There's a good chance you'll decide to lower your nic level soon after using it though.

I plan on keeping it within the legal limit since my cat has asked that I don't go low because she knows my clumsiness and would like to keep being fed.
Thanks Jerms!

p.s. I am hoping to lower the nic eventually but, I've only been completely off the cigs for two weeks and still need the boost.

I think it's much easier to stay away from smoking at the beginning if someone stays good and nicced up. The brain says 'I need a cig!" when it craves nicotine, but after some time passes it switches to 'I could use a vape'.

Vaping Ahl's American Blend No. 3 and I'm a little shocked at how well this has come together. It's in the Xpress pre-steeped line, but many of there juices continue to change, sometimes drastically.

It started out spicy, unique, and decent, but several weeks later it's really bloomed. So many layers have emerged to create tobacco notes, some of which are similar to Smooth Crim after several weeks. The chai like spices, cardamom maybe, have smoothed over and play alongside sweeter, silky, almost creamy SC type tobacco notes.

I kind of love this juice right now. Well played Ahl, surprised me again!

Flavor was pretty much the same. I like this juice Up front Burley with just a whiff of Maple. I wouldn't have bothered diluting it if I didn't like it.

I got some of johni's extracts in a trade and mixed them up a few days ago. Thought I would take a taste of a couple even though they haven't really gotten a good steep. I tried Virginia Spice and Danish Burley in a Magma and Plume Veil respectively. They weren't kidding about the spice part. Jalapenos perhaps? Wooh, hot, hot, hot. Hope it settles down some after a few weeks. The Danish Burley was a nice mild vape but again too soon to judge without more steeping.

I'm awaiting a 35W variable mod in order to try multiple coils in my different RDA's. I have a monster Tobh on a Hades but I'm wondering if I need 50W for 4 coils.

Just a short while ago I laughed at people going for these high powered rigs. But the higher I go with multiple coils, the better the taste. Who woulda thunk it? The 26650 batteries still give me pause and SONY quit making the VTC5. The price of VTC4's went up to $12 a pop and only 2100mah. Anybody recommend a good high drain battery?

I guess the next steps will take us to plugging into a 240 watt wall socket........
