Ha!

The truth is much simpler; quitting smoking more than pays for this hobby. Almost $5 a day saved over three and a half years means I could buy a couple dozen Reos and Provaris and still be ahead.

$20 a day in Australia. It's ghastly here.

Sounds like something is going on with the build if you getting such a harsh hit and metallic taste. Hot leads or the coil getting shorted somewhere, or something may be wrong with the the attie or it's connection to the PV causing a short.

I played with it a little trying to soften the TH, and found that offsetting the coil from the airhole helped a little. I brought the coil in closer to the center of the attie so the air flows over the face of the coil instead of directly under it. Also play with the vertical height for different results.

Thank you Jerms. With the long weekend on our doorstep over here I shouldn't have a problem finding the time to do a rebuild. I will experiment with the placement of the coil as you suggested.

I know my builds are not great and most likely account for the issue. The sheer potency of the Magma probably accounts to a degree as well.

I didn't insinuate anything Mr. Imovedthecoilawayfromtheairhole. You are reducing your "flavour" component by not letting the air waft around the coil and pick up all the flavour molecules lurking there. Now, you're only getting flavour at coil-face value. :p

I'm a mouth to lung hitter as well but, those thick moist 100%VG clouds with a dual coil wide open setup.. MAN!!

I still don't grab the mech more than once or twice a week. :(

If you are going to vape 100% VG you might as well vape unflavored liquid ;)

Anthony, sounds like you're heading in the right direction with nicotine and that's great! However, are you experiencing any flavor changes while dropping the amount of nicotine? I did.

Checkum, perhaps. I don't think I've dropped enough to really notice. I'm still alternating 18mg, 16mg and 12 mg and very few of the juices are in different strengths.

Though my first HHV order was 18mg and my current batch is 12mg and it most definitely has lost flavour but I think it is attributed to other factors with HHVs mixing and supply.

Maybe a little with 12mg.

I got some of johni's extracts in a trade and mixed them up a few days ago. Thought I would take a taste of a couple even though they haven't really gotten a good steep. I tried Virginia Spice and Danish Burley in a Magma and Plume Veil respectively. They weren't kidding about the spice part. Jalapenos perhaps? Wooh, hot, hot, hot. Hope it settles down some after a few weeks. The Danish Burley was a nice mild vape but again too soon to judge without more steeping.

I'm awaiting a 35W variable mod in order to try multiple coils in my different RDA's. I have a monster Tobh on a Hades but I'm wondering if I need 50W for 4 coils.

Just a short while ago I laughed at people going for these high powered rigs. But the higher I go with multiple coils, the better the taste. Who woulda thunk it? The 26650 batteries still give me pause and SONY quit making the VTC5. The price of VTC4's went up to $12 a pop and only 2100mah. Anybody recommend a good high drain battery?
H&H Virginia Spice is a blend of matured Virginias, Perique, and Maduro. No actual spice in it beyond the tobaccos. To me, it vapes like a Va/Per with more bass notes and a nice creaminess.

Probably not steeped enough. I vaped it for most of the afternoon and it stayed the same way well after the wick was broken in. I'll come back to it in a couple of weeks. I should know better than to try unsteeped juice, just gives a wrong first impression with almost everything.

It usually works just the opposite for me. When I taste a fresh juice I usually find it light on flavor then marvel at how it blooms later. I just tried clnire's Lane Very Cherry which was initially not rich with cherry flavor but now it's CHERRY! And a decent cherry at that, not candy.

I hope the Virginia Spice comes around for you.

Dusty what do you recommend for the pipe flavors. I tried a couple long ago and didn't care for the ones I picked. I do like my DIY of Hangsen pipe.

I posted this in response to another post some days back:

From my last batch, Drew Estate Heirloom Cherry, Sutliff Private Stock Charlemagne and Hearth & Home Louisiana Red. You must try these.. I ordered with extra extract.

From my previous batch Dunhill Early Morning gets the top spot, also with extra extract.

All four are re-orders for me. :)

These are all pipe tobacco's?? The cherry is out for me,can't vape it but I'll try the others.

Yes, all pipes. You'd be missing out on a good pipe tobacco if you skipped Heirloom Cherry. It's nowhere as a top note. Barely registers, but if you try hard you can find it.. the rest of the tobaccos though in it are AWESOME!

Here's a more professional review of it:
Drew Estate's Heirloom Cherry is legit. While most cherry pipe tobaccos come saturated with topping, Drew Estate's Heirloom Cherry allows the topping to take a backseat to the exquisite tobaccos used for the blend. In the end, Drew Estate finds the perfect balance between the tobaccos and topping making for a smooth, cherry blend that is highly aromatic.

Boomer, I just fired up your Cornell and Diehl Pennington Gap as I was very curious about this flavor. Any blend described as "all-American with a southern accent" is on my list to try! This stuff is delicious! :thumb: Kentucky Burley, black cavendish, Perique and bourbon make this blend a winner. Most blends topped with booze have little more than a slight booze aroma. The bourbon in this one almost violates my sobriety but it melds well with the tobaccos for a very interesting flavor. Running it in a Phoenix v5, dual micros at .6 Ω on a mech mod.
