LOL. Yes!

Among the more surprising results of this thread is the irony that some of us have developed a greater appreciation of good synthetic tobacco than we had before the thread. One of the best uses of synthetic tobacco flavorings is as bases for RY4s, especially in Classic RY4s, where the balanced, unified flavor profile downplays the synthetic nature of their lab-based tobacco flavorings.

Of the 165-or-so RY4s retail RY4s I've reviewed and ranked on The Really Big RY4 Roundup thread, only 28 RY4s get an "A" or "A-" grade from me. Of those 28 top-rated RY4s, 24 are made with synthetic tobacco (14 Classics, 10 Customs), while only 4 are made with natural tobacco flavoring. (The ratio in the retail marketplace of synthetic tobacco RY4s to natural tobacco RY4s is about 8:1. As group, I grade the natural tobacco RY4s higher, because I think they're tastier overall than the average synthetic-based RY4. Clay's recent entry, N-E-T RY4.1, is another worthy contender among natural tobacco RY4s, most of which are very good. The synthetic-based RY4s are all over the map, from brilliant to dreadful.

That said, the Classic genre (with its synthetic Chineseyness, LOL) offers some terrific, delicious RY4s. The RY4 that was mentioned in the thread recently---Smokeless Image Volt RY4---that kicked off this diversion, is one of the best Classic RY4s ever made by the Chinese. Inexpensive, too! I don't know of any NET-based RY4s made in China, however. Natural tobacco RY4s seem to be exclusively an American invention, as is the whole genre of what is now called Custom or Modern RY4.

I was under the impression that Hangsen tobacco's are made with TA. Is their RY4 an exception ? Sorry, don't know too much about RY4's. Tried some Dekang and Hangsen RY4's a long time ago, and i thought they were better than some i had tried from my local vapeshops. Haven't had a synthetic RY4 for over a year. I have tried the Goodejuice and Quicknic and thought they were pretty good and kinda similar, just not my thing.

Finally, my taste buds are starting to come back so will be sampling these tonight and over the weekend. Just dislike the fact that I missed tasting it out of the mail and seeing how it changed due to a ridiculously long cold/flu I had...

IME, sealed glass bottles are virtually steep-proof, steeping really starts once air is introduced to the juice. I kept all my Retails sealed & refrigerated, regardless of juice or container, my juice tasted like it was freshly made, I now do the same with my mixed DIYs.

I just built a new coil in my magma rda and dripped some goodejuice Organic #1. I've had it for about 3 weeks. I tried it when I initially received it and it was good but vanilla notes came out too strong for me. Those strong vanilla notes are gone and just a hint in the background. It's just a beautiful deep dark tobacco taste. A definite reorder for me.:)

That's good to know since I thought the same thing about the vanilla. Glad to know it darkens up. I've also got a bottle of Vita Bela still meditating.

Love O#1! I didn't get vanilla from it like you guys do, but I can see it.

My taste buds seem to have gone on strike, again. It's kind of weird. Vaping three of my favorites today and getting essentially nothing. This has happened to me several times and so far only lasts 24-36 hours. I drink water all day long and clear my palate for each juice. Does this happen to any of you guys?

It did the first year I vaped, but since, it hasn't been an issue for me. I guess it's different for everyone. I will qualify that by saying that sometimes I do get a dull taste from my juices. It may have something to do with what I have eaten, but it's always rectified by a shot of McCallum's scotch whiskey.:D No, really.;)

Yep, happens to me. Or flavors I know I like just taste blah. I have found (not to sound gross) an occasional squirt of saline nasal spray helps me. Since I started doing this I stopped the Zyrtec allergy meds I was taking daily and still don't get stopped up like I was. Keep the smellers fresh the taste stays better. I have read and tried all the remedies - smell coffee, pickles, whatever. Keeping my head clear helps me. Plus lots of water! Just make sure you know where the bathroom is.....

BTW, if you like Ethervapes Vanilla Skye I suggest Vash's Dark Skyes. Just tried it tonight for the first time. Good stuff! Vanilla Skye vanillas in a straight black canvendish. The creamy Vanilla, haven't tried his new spicy vanillas.

Mazinny,

In 2012, Hangsen came out with its Premium Range, a limited selection of "natural tobacco" liquids, originally four---three straight tobaccos and one menthol. These juices use Hangsen's proprietary"natural tobacco aroma essence" extracted using "molecular distillation techniques." The HS Premium range is marketed mainly in the UK. CaterpillarVapes is, as far as I know, the only U.S. vendor that carries Hangsen Premium.

I have three of the Hangsen Premium tobaccos---HS Delight, HS Impulse, and HS Storm. They taste exactly like TA to me. Unmistakably TA. Similarly, Dekang has its Gold Series, a limited selection of five natural tobacco liquids that use TA. I haven't vaped any of those.

I see that Hangsen added two additional selections to the Premium Range in 2013---HS RY5 and HS RY6, but recently changed the names of those newer juices to HS Silver Tobacco and HS Golden Tobacco respectively. From the descriptions/reviews of both, I'd theorize that Hangsen changed the names because neither juice is very RY-like, but more straight tobacco flavors. CaterpillarVapes doesn't carry the RY5/Silver Tobacco, but they do offer the RY6/Golden Tobacco, so I just ordered a 30ml bottle---$8.75 + $2.99 shipping.

The vast majority of Dekang and Hangsen retail tobacco juices and Hangsen DIY tobacco flavorings have always been and remain synthetic.

thanks for that history, bill. I have tried a couple of Dekang's juices in the past, but I am always reluctant to vape any juice that originates from China. I believe litecigsusa.com offers some of the premium juices from Dekang?

All I can find on the litecigsusa site are regular Dekang liquids, no Gold Label juices. (If they're there, they're hiding from me. LOL.)
