MVJ Perdomo Lot 23 (25 day steep)

With the first few puffs I thought, "oh this must be a Nicaraguan blend." The grass and hay top notes on the Criolo and Corojo were very up front and straight forward. Then I went and looked up the Lot 23 and sure enough all of the filler comes from one farm in Nicaragua. A fresh peanutty taste pops in to add an extra dimension. Slowly the Maduro wrapper comes in. It starts out with a dark earthy taste with a bit of black coffee bitter. Then as you rich the 1ml point the coffee and earth turn into a creamy dark chocolate with hints of sweetness underneath.

The one thing that surprises me is the absolute lack of spice at this point. That could easily be because this is the first 2ml from a newish bottle. A little more steep could bring some out, maybe.

A solid cigar vape for those that want to figure out what a Maduro cigar vape is all about.

ETA:
MVJ says the wrapper is a Connecticut. After eating dinner and drinking it seems that might be right. But, I'm still getting a bit of chocolate undertone that reminds me a Maduro. That could be a result of the six years of fermentation and aging the leaves go through.

Get the Cigars, cigarillos are too small, you'd need 7-8 to make a decent amount of extract.

Pipe Tobaccos: Nub Cameroon, H&H Louisiana Red, Milan Old Dominion, Captain Black/ White pouch, H&H House of Lords.
Cigars: Drew Estate Cold-Infusion, Opulence 3, DE Acid Kuba Kuba, Carlos Torano Exodus 1959, Padron 1926.

Thank you Tom. At the end you'll get an identical result in taste from both ?

Cigars. You get around 60-80 mls of extract for $4. Good deal in my book. If you ever had Poet & Scholar, try the Honey Tatiana. Samo - Samo.

The Honey was 1st of my list :D, I'm glad you said it's like Poet & Scholar because it's my favorite RB juice (tried RB after reading great reviews from Jerms)

Ordered beside The Honey, Fusion Frenzy, Sweet Euphoria, Cognac, Rum, Night Cap and Groovy Blue :2cool:

Am I the only one that doesn't like the Tatiana cigars? I just don't find the extracts to be very pleasing. I just don't find the cigar tobacco to taste like good hand rolled cigars and the flavor seems to be trying to hide it. It creates a dissonance I just find unappealing.

Has anybody tried a CAO Flavours or Acid Krush?

My only Tatiana was the Groovy Blue, it was good but more akin to a Pipe Tobacco. When I prepared the Cigar for maceration, the filler was cut like pipe tobacco and rolled into the wrapper. I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't one I got a hankering to vape like I did with C-I, Carlos Torano or Opulence 3.

Hugh Downs....But on a NET note, been vaping Hump Back from QnJ and have to say this is my favorite version of a Turkish tobacco yet. It has a slight sweetness I'm guessing is from a Virginia that mixes well with the somewhat dryness of the Turkish tobacco. That plus the killer throat hit from QnJ, this stuff is a winner. It takes me back and reminds me of what a fresh pack of Camel's smelled like when first opened. Would recommend this to someone looking for a cigarette style vape for sure.

I am late (1) Anne Robinson and (2) missed the NET.com sale which is a good thing cause I have enough liquids to last me forever although there are a few flavors I could use refills. Off topic — returned my ProVari P3 as the firing button had some intermittent issues. Now I am thinking about getting the VS rDNA 40. Much cheaper than the P3 although 30 day lead time. They have Nautilus temperature sensing BVC coils made with nickel wire. Pricey however may need to try a pack. Also some interesting glass coils. Never ends and that includes the rain!
