Puh. Thanks Anthony. I have ordered the smooth throat hit and a minute ago i have canceled the smooth nicotine. Hope they will change the order. My order is now with 50/50 pg/vg, extra flavour and 6mg.
One question. If you buy at net.com, do you choose the heat or the cold extraction ? I have always ordered the heat extraction with 70pg/30vg, extra flavour and nicotine. If you have other tips, please let me know. I am still learning all the stuff.
Jonny, I really hope Vash changes your order on time. Vash is usually quite attentive and unless he sent your order out already most likely will see your email if you send one.
To answer your question about heat extraction and cold extraction, I tend to get both because with many juices, the cold extraction is not available. When it is available I tend to prefer cold extraction.
Cold extraction is a process where a tobacco which is being macerated in a solvent (quite simply, a tobacco soaked in PG/VG), is left at room temperature to mature. The ideal time to do a cold maceration is about 6-8 weeks. A cold extraction is said to give the flavor of the extraction a little more nuance and complexity.
Heat extraction is when the tobacco is macerated in a solvent which is heated up, usually to about 120-160 degrees Fahrenheit which is just warm enough to leave your finger in for 10 seconds without it getting uncomfortably hot, kind of like the temperature of a hot bath. The jar of Pg/VG with the tobacco is put into this warm bath for a period ranging from about 12 hours to 48 hours. This is done to speed up the maturing process of the extraction. The result with heat extracted liquids is said to be stronger, more robust but lacking in some complexity.
As a general rule, but by no means, a rigid rule, I tend to like cigar and cigarette like liquids heat extracted and pipes with a delicate balance of tobaccos, cold maceration, if they are available. Cavendish, Latakia, Turkish and Periques are probably better of getting cold maceration if available to bring out the complexities in those juices.
I suggest you try both but it does seem as time passes that cold maceration seems to be the preferred choice for NET vendors.
