It was the randomest thing... I was trying to remember the name of a juice he used to like, and I almost messaged him (!!) but something made me go to his FB profile page instead. I saw all the condolence posts.

@scarf-ace (Scarfy, Sasha) just messaged me on Facebook that Adam "Shatner" Wilson passed away last year at age 32. I found more info here: Adam Wilson Obituary - Geo. H. Lewis & Sons Funeral Directors | Houston TX

Too early to go.. RIP @shatner

Sharing for those that are not already aware of his passing.

@classwife @retired1, Adam's account info may need to be updated.

Thanks for letting us know Dusty. I am shocked. We had so much banter in this thread with him over months and months. A colorful character with a big heart and who loved vaping NETs.

I missed seeing him around here when he stopped posting and now I miss him more.

I could have sworn he dropped in here back 6 months ago and just said hello and a few words about his life.

RIP Adam Wilson (shatner).

Hey there, clnire. How've you been?

Hi, EleanorR! How have you been?
It sure does! But it's hot as hell blowing glass in the summer, even in a A/C'd shop. Not complaining, just saying. I love what I do so I put up with it.

Thanks for answering. Please give us your thoughts once you've had some time with them.

I just found the time he came into this thread. Post 13901133.

So I was way off. It was a year and 6 months ago.

Gosh you never know when you are going to take your last puff do you? :(

Hey everyone, was putting some stuff in the classifieds and decided to drop in and say hello to my old vaping friends. I haven't been much for tobacco lately so I haven't been in here in a while. Been busy as hell with work so I haven't been on ECF at all for a long time.

Hope everyone's doing ok and fighting the good fight to stay off the analogs. I'm coming up on 4 years. Have a great week, friends!

This was the last post of Shatner's that I could find on this thread. Rest well "friend"!

OMG! How sad. We did have a lot of fun here when he was active. He made a lot of great contributions. He is dearly missed. Thank you for the update Dusty and and Scarfy. Godspeed shatner.

By the way, hi, if anyone remembers who I am.
I remember you! You were one of my mentors in home extracting! Good to see ya, hope all is well.

Hmmm. My juice control moves a lot. It moves even when I unscrew the tank from my mod.

How open do you leave the air holes and do you
leave the airholes open when you stop Vaping for a while, like overnight for example?

I vape with the airflow wide open. Did you mean how open do I leave the juice holes? Wide open, and close them only for filling. I have zero flooding/leaking issues leaving them open. Is yours leaking?

The part on the very bottom, the part you turn to adjust airflow, is also what you turn to close off the juice holes. See the knurled, or "ribbed" part directly above that? That's where you hold it when you screw it on. If you hold it only there with thumb and forefinger, nothing should move when you tighten it down. If you hold it by the air hole part when screwing it down, it WILL move.

So, you want to refill it...unscrew it from the mod, then turn the very bottom to close off juice flow, which also closes air hole in the process. When it's full, open the juice holes, then screw it on the mod. When it starts getting tight, hold it only by the "ribs" for the final tighten. You should be able to tighten as hard as you want without anything moving.

Once it's on the mod, use a light touch to adjust the airflow. My airflow control is really loose, I can move it with a single finger without disturbing the juice holes.

An alternate way is to just tighten it down however you want, ignoring the juice holes, then when it's tight, grasp it at the TOP, at the metal part above the glass tank section and below the drip tip, and turn clockwise (clockwise, mind you). That will also close/open the juice holes, or at least it will on mine. :)

Thanks from me for sharing that info D_D... It's hard to believe that he's gone and I'd never had guessed he was so young either...

Hey Anthony! I think, because HHV is NET based, that the harvests vary from year to year. I hear that Pirates Booty has that spicy tang again. While HHV does make some sweet nets, my favorite was always Huntsman, I've switched to Gaia as it's what Huntsman used to be and of course my old favourite Puros from HoL.

Legend has been through several significant taste variations, one of which resulted in Serendipity, but you're right. Not every batch was able to produce the the first version.

NET.com - is that Clay? If so, then I have to confess to being terribly behind, because while I know him and have heard so much good, I STILL haven't gotten to order anything! (yet).

Hula,

Have you found that HHVs flavors have changed over the years? I used to love legend and pirates booty but they just don't taste the same anymore.

There is nothing wrong with the old gear. If it works and gives you the required amount of nicotine and stops you from smoking then it's still good. I never got over mouth to lung vaping. Straight lung hits are not something I want to do all day.

I still cycle through old Tanks and RBAs and enjoy them very much. Older devices are suitable for portability. I would never go to work or out with a reveleaux dna200 or snow wolf in my pocket.

As far as your question of what's good nowadays I am trying to recall how long you've been away. You do know about NET.com right ? They have some great new sweeter hybrid nets like a hot chocolate net, Choc ming and others. Blacknote is a new boutique well marketed NET that is more expensive than the norm but could be worth trying.

Ethervapes make some wonderful NETs including some sweeter ones like vanilla Skye but the vendor might be closing down soon.

To be honest, given that you prefer a sweeter NET I think some of the more significant developments have been in the synthetic Simulated NET genre. Alloy blends makes some good tobacco like flavors and so does Charlie Noble.

Wow. Just wow. I'm so sorry to hear that. RIP Shatner. You will be missed. HHV forum has had a couple of fine folk who've departed too, so may you join them in the great vape lounge in the sky.

This is good advice. Thanks Jambi. You saved me from hAving to post my griffin newb question elsewhere.

By the way, hi, if anyone remembers who I am.

Not the faintest recall. Hi nice to meet you. Any relation to Al Pacino?

What I do remember is someone (can't remember who) giving me a bottle of home made extracted Erinmore NET back before even a single other soul in the NET thread was doing home made extractions.

Would you believe I pulled out of my inventory in the fridge last week, what was left of that erinmore and have been vaping it lately and it is still good ! What's left of the scotch cut is still good too.

Wow Hula.. NET.com is a must. Arguably the best NET vendor out there in an overall sense. His business has gone from strength to strength.

Yeah, it was that tangy spice that made Pirates booty so good and it was entirely absent in the last 3 orders. Legend was like nothing else on the market. It was truly unique but it's a bland lifeless version of its former self.

Actually, on my last order, I could barely distinguish the difference between Legend, Pirates Booty and Serendipity. They were so similar.

So I got samples from NET, Plume Room and HHV. NET was impressive though needs time to steep. TPR's honey fig is the tastiest thing i've ever vaped, and is my new ADV. It's everything i've ever wanted in a juice.
But HHV came as a bit of a surprise. Perhaps they need time to steep; I loaded up my cleito with huntsman and it tasted like nothing. Basically no taste, just a very mild smokiness. I emptied the tank and switched back to TPR cocoa tobacco. Is it a steeping thing or is just a really mild vape? I have heavenly and dragon's fire and maple too and huntsman smelled promising but was a big let-down. Should I just come back to them in a while or is HHV particularly mild?

I find them mild - but the Serendipity is quite rich, and as you might have seen above, I was Huntsman's Number 1 fan. But now I go with Gaia, because it has become the original Huntsman. They do however need to steep. If they're looking blonde, tops off for a few hours, shake and leave be till they get darker.
