Shadowfax for example has a definite vanilla flavor to it, that is not part of any normal tobacco, it is flavoring that is added in the process of making many pipe tobaccos. My best guess, since I don't have the actually information from HHV, is that they are extracting a Vanilla Cavendish pipe tobacco as the base flavor for Shadowfax? I am only going on their claim that they are only extracted tobacco base, no flavoring added after the extraction.

And there you have an example of how one can say one thing technical while not revealing what's up. Tobaccos, the aromatics, are generally containing added flavor. I didn't take money out of your purse, mam :nun: --- but, I did take some out of your wallet! :sneaky:

Gandalf, Serendipity, Huntsman, Dark Horse, Pirate's Booty, and Dragon's Fire are supposedly straight extracts.

"Straight" meaning nothing added.

Just sayin'.

I do have to say that HHV has created some amazing flavors by using pre-flavored tobacco, big props to them... I really like a bunch of their juices, and will continue to regularly reorder them. Their twist on extracted tobacco is one of a kind right now, and the creaminess of their extractions is wonderful and unique. Most other NETs have a sharp tobacco taste to them... But like a true flavored Cavendish pipe tobacco, their juice has a very smooth, rich, silky quality to it. And as a side note, my favorite pipe tobacco to smoke when I used to be into that was Vanilla Cavendish from the Tinder Box by my house... Not sure the brand, but it was great.

So long as it tastes good, I don't really care. A purist I am not. :)

No reason to be, HHV is still NET juice... It actually has created it's own category within the realm of NETs, to some extent.

It reminds me of a coffee shop in the Mission, San Francisco, called Philz. They brew some really unique coffee that is a like Chicory coffee in New Orleans. They drip flavored coffee that has notes of cinnamon, cardamon, cocoa and so on... But the coffee is not actually flavor infused beans, they use spices in the dripping process. The end result is like a cross between coffee and tea... I wish I could figure out how to replicate the stuff.

I don't either. However, I love clarity just for the sake of it. For instance, Moondrop liquid states they sell naturally extracted tobacco, which is true, but it's actually TA. For me, now, that is a huge selling point, but I'd beg to bet that some around here would be ...... for that slight of hand. After my blind allegiance to American Spirits where all I knew was what was on the box (and always cited it), I will always dig and dig. Me? A purist? Nah. I am a vaper always on the internet!

And therein lies the problem. When you are doing something as unique as HHV, you almost have to hold your cards close to your chest.

I thought it needed to be added. I wish the makers would add it. When you get a juice like Patriot, VB and many HHV juices (though I am not saying factually they are or not), the juice shouldn't leave one scratching their head. Just call it a hybrid.

GeJ and A+ use Hybrids, but I think W2V mainly does Pure with maybe one exception (Tobak Especial).

Actually, I think the only straight NETs from GeJ are FC, WT, NP and AG. Ahlusion is DD and BGB.

All of A+ hybrids are labeled in the description as containing "other" natural flavors. It gets real wonky, but we are trying our best to make sense of it all when most of the juicers are not all that forthcoming.

Not mentioned here a lot is Vermillion River. They use mostly hybrids and their straight NETs are not hardcore tobaccos, though they are good, they just taste more like tobacco concoctions. Prime Vaping NETs are straight up, though from my experience, they we really weak, even with extra flavor.

Tabak Especial is infused, like Blondie and Cold Infusion... This is different than liquid flavored, soaked tobacco. Infused cigars are made by placing the cigar in a sealed container with coffee, for example (like Tabak Especial), and so on.

Also, I am not sure, since I just got it... But I think Patriot might be a pure NET? I also wonder if the cocoa in Wrangler is added before the extraction... The subtle quality of it makes it hard to believe it is cocoa flavor added to the extraction, how small of a drop can you add, haha.

Patriot is a hybrid (a message from Nick to Vapenstein). I was conflating infused pre and after the fact. Boy, we really get into the weeds around here...I LOVE IT!

Trust me, on Patriot, I had no idea. Nick is very craft with the subtleties. I don't, however, know what the hybrid part is, aside from it not being Flavour Art. http://.............../the-lab/juice-review/275-juice-review-goodejuice-patriot-tobacco Check out the comments -- see who started it off? hahahahaha! Who is this Mistermannerisms guy?

Nice... I had seen Mistermannerisms on other forums before, so funny. I now have to sample some more Patriot, you have me intrigued. It is still fresh, since Nick rocks... It got here basically the day after I ordered. I know it is still new, but I find that picking some flavors out can be more easily done prior to steeping. The final product after steeping is usually better, but sometimes the flavors are less distinct.

VERY interesting! Before they meld, sometimes they are a little more free roaming. Pick 'em off. I have been waiting to order more from GeJ cause they have a sale coming up in December, but I don't know how much longer I can go without Patriot.

I understand the cards and chest reference... But it sure is nice how A+ list the ingredients in their juices, like tobacco extract, natural flavor, artificial flavor, alcohol and so on. That is enough additional information to not spill the beans, but to give you a better understanding of what you are getting. It is sort of like buying food products you put into your system... Sometimes you don't care about reading the label, and other times you are interested in what you are ingesting. On the back of a food product it lists natural or artificial flavors, or both, it doesn't say exactly what they are, but you get the picture. A certain level of disclosure is cool without forcing someone to reveal the secret spice recipe, so to speak.

One phrase: proprietary blend! I HATE THAT phrase! LOL. Yeah, see I that is the info that I care about. The rest is just fun.

Oh yeah, this just in: RAWR got back with me an confirmed that their tobaccos (most) use TA. The heaviest TA juice is their Poison series of tobaccos.

I quickly snuck a few more drops of Patriot in an atty to see if I could tell what might be added... The only thing I get that is a little strange is an overly dark fruity flavor... The perique should have some of that, but I would assume that to be a minor part of the blend, yet the flavor is a little bit up front. I still really like the overall taste, and can imagine over a few weeks the dark fruity sweetness will probably settle into the mix a little more, and it will be even tastier, if that is possible. This stuff is awesome :vapor:

The initial thoughts on wrangler and wild turkey are both positive too. The Wild Turkey is nicely smooth, yet spicy... And the Wrangler has a great dry tobacco flavor, with an almost unnoticeable cocoa hint.

The fire cured... Wow. This hits like a mack truck, but still has a wonderful grassy, hay-like earth tone to it under the woody smoky flavor. I actually checked my voltage after the first couple pulls, wondering if I had it at like 12 watts or something, hehe. It is a keeper for sure... And I look forward to puffing on it with a nice neat glass of single malt in the near future.

Fire Cured is the watts amplifier!
