I've read on this forum, maybe it was even in this thread, people using the descriptive term funky to describe a tobacco flavor. That makes me think of a heavy, dark, deep, bitter scent like skunk or an old sock or an unwashed hippy :p It's a word that clicked with me when I would vape GeJ Natural Perique. Not in a bad way tho, I really liked the funk that Perique brought to the table.

I rotate atties, having a 510, 901, and 306 that gets switched every few days. Every atty I use seems to have it's own quirks, muting certain flavors and bringing out others. That funkyness of NP only really came out on a couple atties. Today I loaded up some Ramagalia's Toscano Gold from TPR on a different atty then I've been using the last few days to get to know Andrea's tobaccos. That was one flavor that I was very indifferent to at first. Not bad, not terribly exciting either. But on this 901 atty there it is.. funky! RTG from TPR is bringing the funk in a good way for me today.

Unwashed Hippy... LMAO. Have a lot of experience with that odor, Jerms?

wow there are a bunch of pages in this thread! I've read a few here and there (half an hours worth)

*unwashed hippie flavor* made me giggle

anyway.. I'm on the hunt for a 100% VG tobacco flavor with no sweet at all .. no other flavors.. just tobacco for my S/O.

I've gotten him some perique.. an exotic blend.. Turkish and one called *full tobac* on the label. He says he can detect other flavors in all of them.. be it vanilla, cherry or some other fruit or just sweetness.

His last couple years of analogs have been bouncing among pall mall, L&M reds, Marlboro reds and occasionally American spirit full flavor.

Recommendations please?

Is he looking to reproduce the 'smokey' taste of an analog, or the tobacco taste itself?

Since Perique is actually fermented tobacco the funk better be there :D

It is actually pressed into whiskey barrels and aged like that under pressure for a year before being released... Now that will give it some time and motivation to get funky when its let out, haha.

One thing about vg is it's naturally a little bit sweet. I've had some mostly vg liquids that have a good tobacco only taste but no experience in the 100%vg ones.

Lol well that explains that! When I was still smoking I realize now I would have enjoyed smoking a pipe. I love the differences in these nets between burley, perique, virginia, cavendish etc..

There is only one Mann I know that might have the answer. I'm sure he will chime in on this one soon.

Today marks a dubious milestone: vapemail I was actually disappointed to receive:(

Yes, the notorious Virgin Vapors tobaccos finally got here, looking every bit as nauseating as the pictures that we have all seen. What surprised me was how bad these SMELLED... rubbery and thoroughly industrial. I am not sure I want to waste a clearomizer even tasting them.

I must say that the Kona Caramel Milkshake and Drunken Pirate Pudding smell very nice. But that is no consolation. I plan to ask for a refund on the tobaccos. Will report if and when I get it.

Opal I would recommend HHV Dark Horse or Huntsman. Both are available in 100% VG.

As I like to say, how will you know how much better they get until you test them every so often? :)

I actually did fill a carto with some shadowfax and pirate's booty. I like shadowfax as it is, I kind of get a chocolate taste. Pirate's booty seems like it needs a little time to steep, but I can tell I will like it. Since I now have 6 flavors in my rotation I had to use a label maker to mark which carto contains which juice.

I was so close to pulling the trigger on those when they came out, really glad I didn't. Let us know how it turns out, I think I remember them offering a refund if asked. Hopefully they don't ask you to spend the time and money sending them back. Also scarf, let me know what you think of the kona caramel when you get to it. I had the famous kona coffee milkshake and was very unimpressed. Usually when I don't like a liquid I can still see why others would, but that one I didn't understand.

There is only one Mann I know that might have the answer [to the question about a 100% VG tobacco flavor with no sweet at all]. I'm sure he will chime in on this one soon.

Clouds of Vapor COV Tobacco is "natural" and 100% VG. I don't know if it's an NET for sure, but it tastes nothing like Tobacco Absolute or Tobacco Extract to me---the flavor is closer to "real" cured tobacco and nothing at all like a typical synthetic-flavored tobacco juice). Like all 100% VG juices, it carries some of the sweetness inherent in the VG, but there's no additional sweetness at all, just solid tobacco flavor.

Along with GEJ house-extracted tobaccos, COV Tobacco is one of my go-to juices when I want solid tobacco that that tastes "true" and isn't a blend with other sweeter flavors added.

When I first got Natural Perique I didn't really like the musty funky thing going on in there but after vapin both 30 mil bottles of Wrangler light and Wild Turkey I had to move to the others I got. I don't know if it's just because Im only vaping non sweet GeJ and my taste have changed or the month long steep, but im likiin it now. It has a good Tobacco taste that's on par with the other GeJ house brewed, just a little different. Sorry but thats as descriptive as I can get, It's Tobacco lol.

PS: To me it's like trying to describe the differences between similar brands of cigarettes with these three.
