I'm up to #513 and it's brand-specific and only two weeks old. It's far more a testament to Heather's Heavenly Vapes tobacco line than it is anything else. HHV makes outstanding smoke juice and they are deserving of all the rave.

Congrats luce on a great thread! I'm fairly certain Eleanor would agree but it took a good deal of coaxing on my part.

Mookie, I might suggest giving Mom and Pops RYO a shot. It's a pretty straight-forward and satisfying cigarette-style NET.

I thought M&P used tobacco absolute? And I thought TA has a tangy, grassy note to it?

Thanks so much for all the advise. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to replicate an analog. I know that isn't possible nor would I want to. I prefer vaping but just struggling finding juice that agrees with me. That is why I thought NETs may be different than the often recommended popular brands that I've tried. A few have been good but not very many that I love and want to reorder. It seems the majority prefer sweet vapes while I prefer tobacco. But I still don't know the difference between Virginia, Tennessee, Burley, Turkish, etc., and I believe that is part of the problem. I smoked Marb; what type of tobacco it is I still don't know. The constant changing taste buds has been a challenge also. One day something tastes great and the next day terrible. Thankfully, that seems to finally be leveling off though. I've been much more satisfied since I gave up the notion of finding perfection or cigarette replacement. I'm just looking for a couple of juices I can say I really love and must reorder.

I've ordered TPR Marb and Toasted Turkish and from VS I ordered Tampa and VS4 to start with.

Thanks again for your help!

I think HHV should post on the front of their website:

Home of Gandalf

gandalf+poster.jpg

They should come out with a few Variants on The Gandalf. Gandalf the Gray and Gandalf the White. Or maybe since the first Gandalf is the Original perhaps they should just rename it Gandalf the Gray and if they come out with anything else with an improvement or something they can call it 'THE WHITE'.

On that note I wonder what Radagast the Brown taste like?

Gandalf now is not the original, the original had much less of a forward presence, though it was very good. I think that should be named Young Gandalf. I hope HHV decides to add that as an option for those that think it is too strong now. I like it both ways to be honest.

From Mom and Pops, all of their tobaccos except RYO, RYO4 and Conspiracy, use TA. So, next time you go to their site and want to order a tobacco and you want to stay away from the absolute, those are your THREE options: RYO, RYO4 and Conspiracy.

Well, it's really going to be a mystery to you since you are not taken on any more vendors. ;)

Patience, Mr. M.; one must exercise patience with me! :) (That Vita Bella, as well as Ahlusion's Bella Vecchio, are sorely tempting my self-imposed temporary purchase ban!)

I've avoided Dark Horse exactly because everyone says it tastes like Malboros, and even when I was a smoker I hated those things. You've inspired me to maybe try it after all. :)

I am very, very eager to try Dark Horse myself -- not because of any cowboy-killer resemblance, but for the promise of a nice, neutral, vegetal, ashy tobacco vape!

That's probably my favorite show EVER. :)
 PLEASE tell me you're joking. Please.:laugh:

Careful Salty. The last time I was critical of this thread, Eleanor about reached through my monitor and choked me to death. That aside, I like your idea.

:D Gosh, Bronze, you say the scariest things about me, when really all I did was, er, make an observation. You're a North Carolina boy, surely you know by now not to "mess" with a Southern lady?

:)

HHV is really high on my list too, and I've only actually vaped 3 of their tobaccos. :) I am not attracted to W2V due to equipment issues, Vapenstein sounds way too gruff for me, and GeJ will just have to wait its turn. My next new NETs will be Dark Horse and Blue Grass Burley. Then, perhaps, I will stop looking. Perhaps. :)

P.S. -- Gandalf is definitely mahogany. :D

After Pirate's Booty...there's your Gandolf Light. I see zero difference between the two except that Pirate's is 30% lighter in flavor.

Actually, kind of surprising, and not sure how this happened, but the HHV focus has shifted away from Huntsman. A nice variant of 'the Gandalf effect'. A different angle, but very much akin.

And see, I see no similarities between Huntsman and Gandalf. They are in two completely different leagues as I see it. Yes, they both share tobacco. But Gandalf is a complex, edible-like flavor. Huntsman is grassy. I like both (Gandy more), but just totally different from one another. Did I even read your comment correctly?

Yes, yes you did read it correctly. Can I offer an eyeglass chamois? Atty cleanser? Palate squeegee? (kidding). Hey, we all know that juice taste is 'subjectivology', right?

It constantly amazes me how completely different the same juice will taste to different people.

My wife walked in a half hour ago begging for more smoke juice (I'm getting her started on vaping). I try to give her different flavors so she can find what she likes. She like my Johnson Creek crap but did not like Pirate's Booty or Gandy at all. So now I have her toking some Heavenly Tobacco. I think it tastes like nuts. She thinks it tastes like maple. I'd like a microscope view of the geometry of the taste buds on two different people. There has to be something physical about this more than mental. Has to be.

Hahaha. Classic.

Think of it like Sauerkraut. I can eat that stuff right out of the jar all by its lonesome, with a large spoon, but just about every woman in my life has thought it was the bane of their existence, and I was looked upon as some kind of ....... Go figure.

Edit: Since when is c-r-e-t-i-n a bad word on boards? LOL

One of my first GF's in high school was German. Her parents came over not long before. They were German through and through. Their house always smelled like saurkraut. Made me want a Reuben every time I went there. Funny one TB!

Re:p post

I don't want to come off as exactly how I am ;), but, tastes may be subjective, but exposure and experience are not. What I mean is, if you have only tried Pabst Blue Ribbon, Old Milwaukee, and Schlitz, you are not in the best place to judge beer, but surely you could decide which is best of those. Until I really started vaping tobacco, it took awhile before I could unearth, discover and find out what is was that I was tasting. Initially I never questioned tobacco and just equated it with the "misfit" flavor. Until you dive in and surround yourself with a plethora of tobacco (juices) it is hard to understand why many of us scoff at the broad title of tobacco. Sure, anyone can say that Pabst Blue Ribbon is the best, most hoppy beer and Dekang tastes just like tobacco, but is it really doing that person a positive service to substantiate those claims by supporting the comments with "well, everyone is different?" I never see that type of pandering in other arenas. It is okay to educate, and I am happy those that schooled me did in fact take the time to do it. This post is not directed at anyone or any post, but it has been on my mind for quite some time.

Well, that said Mr. Mann, I'm about ready to load up my M3 with some of the Vita Bella you talked me into trying. Natural Perique is on deck but I may save that for tomorrow. One other point about taste that isn't necessarily connected to your remarks....I can be vaping my "favorite" smoke juice and really be grooving on it thinking the entire time that I wouldn't want to vape anything else. Then the next day (possibly within the same day), I find that I don't care for the flavor near as much as I did the night prior. I've always passed it off as tongue crud shifting from one playing field to another; not unlike how a major sports arena will change their venue from a hockey platform to a basketball platform in a matter of hours. Same place, just a different venue. So here goes the Vita Bella. Bottoms up!

Yeah, I meant to add to my post: Liking or not liking is completely different from saying Dekang is tobacco. I can't argue with someone who likes a particular juice, but I can if they say a juice has tobacco in it when it doesn't. Taste being attributed to approval is different from taste making claims about ingredients.
