So I made my first SS mesh wick, a curled one for my IGO-L. Rolled it on the diagnal so it was flexible and oxidized it fairly well. 4 wraps of 31ga kanthal, metered out to 1.5 ohms. Sweet that was easy. Until I fired it. Major hotspots that I worked out by pulsing on my mech. Glowing even so loaded it up with Puros, and watched it slowly go from 1.5 to 1.1 on the first fill. Put it back on the mech to work out all the hot spots again. Not sure if that's normal or a sign of a bad wrap since I haven't read much about SS mesh wicks. It's hugging the mesh but not tight. Back on my VAMO and it's staying at 1.5 so I think I got to the right destination, even if I was taking the wrong roads.
Vapor and TH are great. Flavor seems a little lighter but pretty good and clean. I think I've read it takes a little breaking in for ss mesh to reach it's full flavor potential. I haven't been able to get as good flavor from my IGO-L with silica as my smaller drippers, so I'm pretty happy with it. It'll be nice to try with juices that otherwise aren't working for me on the small drippers with the micro coils.
