There is always, I ( insert phrase here )

Helps to mix things up and put some variety in your phraseology.

True. It keeps mistakes fresh and new.

Who knows, since there has been some interest in this (I would be game), maybe Clay could extract some State Express and really make a 555 without having to adhere to 555ish principles.

According to the site you can request a specific extract from specific tobacco as long as its deemed feesable.

There are principles involved?

I thought a 555 was basically a nutty tobacco blend, arising from the popularity of DK-tab, or some British tobacco blend. Apparently they are popular, since many synthetic tobacco mixers think all tobacco has a predominant nuttiness to it. I never in my life thought or tasted any tobacco was nutty naturally.

Ok, so as I'm sure I'll get in to RBA/RDA now that I've fiddled with one a bit (still haven't rebuilt the first coil), I'm sure I'll want an upscale RDA. It's just how I am.

Now, I've heard a lot about the Kayfun and Kayfun lite. What's the difference? What makes them so great? In pics on vendor websites they seem to have at least a dozen parts. Why?

Also, The Russian is a Kayfun clone. The Kayfun is pretty much impossible to get rigth now as they're soled out everywhere. But The Russian is available at some places.

So, talk me in to or out of a Kayfun, Kayfun lite or The Russian.

Buy one, and I'll coil it for you. I'll even break it in for you. That way I'll know that the coil is working :)

The Russian 91% is a Kayfun-light clone, but it incorporates the adjustable airflow that the Kayfun-light doesn't have. It's a tank RBA. Never heard much bad about either the original or clone. Suppose to best thing on the marketplace. A warm vape, like an RDA and unlike the genesis style which are cooler, airier draws.

Sure.

I've never seen a 555 + another flavor. Maybe it exists (maybe 555 Exotic is one), but 555 tends to be rather straightforward. Principled or not, I still never got around to trying a Sate Express cigarette (still may), but I know as popular as 555s are, there aren't any NETs that are State Express sourced. 555 (the cigarette) was very popular once, but "[t]oday, the brand is still very popular in Asia, especially in the Greater China area (including mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan), Vietnam, and Cambodia. Some resources suggest it is the most well-known and popular foreign brand in China." That sure explains a lot.

I used to smoke those once in awhile and I don't remember them being anything like what 555 juice gets described as. Are the 555ish principles for e-liquid actually supposed to be related to State Express 555s?

Ah, that explains it (and why just about every vendor stocks them). I appreciate it.

Probably as much as any other synthetic tobacco liquids are; but once again, I see very little variation in 555s which is why I think makers hold tight to a "principle." I think Clay may just be the one to actually do the first real 555. Hell, if he reaches the Asian market, forget about it. LOL

While we are on this subject, the reason why I didn't say DV did the first "real" 555 is because I am almost certain they used some tobacco blend and then 555ed it up with some other flavoring. This is all speculation, but I bet it's a 555 juice with a NET base, as opposed to a straight-up State Express. If Clay were to do that, I know I would try it just to see. It could be a novelty liquid, but it could also be a way to get the attention of some non-NET vapers that used to smoke those cigs and/or love 555 (I came around to loving a good 555). I mean, hell, if there was a real cig called RY4, I bet RY4 enthusiasts would've tried the straight-up NET version of that (and I don't mean some random tobacco + the other two flavors). Gosh that's silly to think about--an RY4 cigarette? Nah.

I can't talk you in to or out of anything as I'm in the shopping stage myself, but I'm considering some of the same things, so I thought I'd share where I'm at, maybe we can help each other decide.

My Drunker Tanks have died and my Terminators (the Smoktech Terminator that's a knock off of the Killer 705, not the Rainbow Heaven clone of the Odysseus) are irritating me. I want a new RBA with a tank for carrying around with me throughout the day. I don't want a gennie as the leaking makes them unfriendly to pocket carrying. I have RDAs that I like, but again, they're not great for travel.

I'm looking at the Kayfun Lite, the Russian 91% and the Fogger v2 (not quite the same family, but it's similarish and in the running for me). The Kayfun and the Russian are out for me because I prefer the price and size of the Lite/91%. The Fogger is bigger, but it's much cheaper, so it gets a partial pass on the size.

All of these have been receiving rave reviews from many reviewers.

Overall, I've got the impression that the KFL/R91 is a bit less fussy than the Fogger (and the Taifun GT which the Fogger is based on), but the Fogger has the potential to be almost zero maintenance once you get it set up right (per PBusardo's video on cleaning the Taifun, if that applies to the Fogger - I'm really not sure, but I think it would). The Fogger has a glass tank vs the plastic or metal on the KFL/R91.

BTW have you found the Russian 91% in stock somewhere? I have been looking but haven't found it. I did find the Kayfun Lite in stock here, but I've never heard of this vendor and I haven't been able to find anyone saying anything about them so far.

I've used the Kayfun Lite, Kayfun 3.1, and The Russian. As far as rebuildables with capacity go, they're far and away my favorite. I like them much better than Genesis-style atomizers. Rebuilding is easy; if you can handle a dripper then you can handle these bottom-coil silica atomizers. The Kayfun Lite is relatively easy to get. The Russian 91% is a copy of the Kayfun Lite, but with airflow control. The Kayfun 3.1 and The Russian are exact copies. The price difference between the Kafun Lite and The Russian 91% is $15 to $20, depending on the vendor. Personally, I'd go with the original. The price difference between the Kayfun 3.1 and The Russian is $65 to $75, which makes it more appealing.

This style of atomizer has been the best for how I enjoy vaping. The flavor is great, rebuilding is easy, and the draw is satisfying. While you can get somewhat better flavor from a Genesis-style atomizer with the right build and materials, rebuilding is harder, the draw is looser, and they're not as pocketable (they can leak).

Busy weekend in NETopia; welcome to the new posters.

Stressful weekend myself. The few hours I was at home I vaped Balkan from NETcom. Man oh man.. after vaping mainly non-tobacco flavors in a Protank, dripping a bit of a smoky Latakia blend is HEAVEN. I was tempted to bum a couple nails this weekend but Balkan was much more satisfying than they would have been.

I have seen The Russian in stock, but I was pretty tired last night when I did see it. I'll find it after the gym and post it.

Ok, so they are easy to rebuild? Quite honestly they look like a ..... and a half.

Ray, here are my questions on these. First, I've heard the draw on the KFL is airy (which I hate). How airy, compared to, for example, a Vapage 510 atty? This is why I've considered the clone, which has airflow control. I'd pay the $20 extra for the original, if the draw was suitable for me. Second, how does the flavor compare to a good 510 atty? If I vape, say, an Ahlusion aromatic, will I get the nuances of the tobacco and the complementary flavor as completely as with a good 510 or 901?

I've been meaning to ask you and Tez about these, because you both have similar flavor and JDS leanings to mine. So, here's my chance.

Honestly I find the Kay Fun Lite easy as hell to re-build and I'm a total noob. This is my first RBA and I don't see the difficulty in it. The deck is very easy to work with. I honestly don't see how so many people have trouble with their KFL's, I have gotten nothing but perfect performance from mine with different builds. I'm currently on a Mesh wick setup aided by cotton tails and its bloody fantastic!

What I like about the Kayfun Lite is it holds 4+ mls of juice. The flavor/feel is like a dripper and the juice feeds like a bottom coil. Yes Shat, there are lots of parts but they are all needed. It's no big deal. No need to be intimidated by all the parts. The Kayfun Lite is actually very easy to rebuild. And it is tasty using a variety of wicking materials. And the thing is built like a brick :censored:house!

Oh, and I'm still waiting for the first molecule of leakage. :)

And here is the business view (wick is an old beat up silica wick but still hits like a freight train.

The only thing I'm not liking about my Kayfun is that it's getting tiny scratches from handling it so much on a day to day basis. I use it left handed so it rubs against my wedding ring at times. Meh, not much of a big deal. A little off topic for this thread, back to the NET's!

That's easily solved. Get a divorce. :)
