Hey, NETizens:

How would you guys characterize QnJ's equipment-friendliness (especially that of the newest four, "name this juice" juices)?

I don't expect anything to be as coil-friendly as Sahara Blend (Shatner's right, it's almost as if that stuff cleans coils rather than gunking them up), but I really really hope that QnJ is nothing like w2v! :D

I had no issues with the 4 contest vapes in my drippers, vaped pretty clean. I have heard some of their other NETs to be more gunk prone though.

I've yet to have a NET perform as badly as a couple W2V juices.

Bronze, I was born in March 1959 in Brooklyn NY, and moved to the Long Island suburbs in July of 1969. My dad was a depression-era Hard-*ss & NYC Sanitation Foreman who'd do anything for his family, instead of having him pay for College or Vocational Schooling, I signed up. It was the best experience, a challenging adventure and a pleasure to serve, wished I would have retired.

On Topic, I vaped some Kuba Kuba using a Kanger T2 @8.4 watts (on my newly arrived DNA20 Bogger Box), no earthiness but still some type of muted Tea/ Grass note. I"ll attribute the muted flavor to the T2, switching to the rda Octopus @8.4 watts & 8 drops of Kuba Kuba.

A few too many drops, some liquid oozing from my RDA air-hole, the tobacco notes are showing up right behind the higher/lighter Tea, not as muted as the T2. I kicked up the wattage to 9.6, the tobacco has decided to step out front, the Tea type notes are still present and complimentary to the tobacco. Tobacco is dominant @10.6 watts, the Tea/higher notes are shadowy & lurking in the background, still very good flavor... TOBACCO Flavor.

Fellow New Yorker! :toast:

Manhattan native, Manhattan and Bronx resident until ten years ago when I switched hemispheres.:)

Still working on the Eko-Phoenix. Vita Bella tastes even more marshmallow-gooey dessert in this, and I forgot what a WICKED coffee vape this is.

Ekowool is awesome. For prep, I give it a thorough rinse before torching it. It shouldn't take long to break in. What width are you using, Khaleesi? Also, how are you finding twisting the kanthal ribbon so that it does into the posts?

Um, rinse? Torch? Twist?

running away to redo my coils

I can tell the difference when I torch and twist... I'd be interested if you can. (mine may be psychosomatic... )

On an unrelated frustrating note, I had a package I shipped overseas returned to me today because there was a "problem" with customs. no details. no nada. The kicker? its empty bottles. The package I sent that contained liquids took a long time but, went without issue.

I hate the post office.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. ¿No comprendo?

That is WEIRD. Problem with Australian or US customs, did they specify?

I might have to sell my Vmod if this keeps being an issue. :(

I received my first order from Ahlusion this week. I ordered Blue Grass Burley, Vurley and Smooth Criminal.

I tried the Vurley out of the box and it's a little rough. Not much vanilla, lots of tobacco. I'm going to let it steep a while.

Next, I tried smooth criminal. It's pretty darned awesome. It tastes like graham cracker with a cinnamon / clove hint.

I vaped it most of the morning. My room smelled like baked brownies :)

Gonna wait to try Blue Grass Burley for a while.

As Jerms mentioned, the aromatics don't really need steeping. If anything, the vanilla in Vurley will fade a little in time. If it ends up not being your thing, there are plenty of NETizens that would trade you for it. Many NETizens put it second behind Blue Grass Burley as far as Ahlusion aros go.

Um, rinse? Torch? Twist?

Some people think that Ekowool imparts an earthy taste if not rinsed. I haven't experienced that myself, but rinsing is often a good idea. Torching makes it so much easier to work with. It becomes stiffer and easier to shape. It also greatly cuts down on the fraying. If I'm in a rush, I'll skip the rinse, but I'll always torch because it makes it easier to manipulate.

Eleanor, they are clean-ish. The recent four contest juices are beautiful, no problems whatsoever in clearos or RBAs. I did have a few gunk issues with my samples of Grandpa's Nightcap and Our Why Quattro, but not enough to make me stop vaping them. :)

They are NOTHING like W2V in gunkitude. (Neologism!)

They're friendly El...not like W2V. But Grandpa's Night Cap does linger. I'd dedicate an atty for that one. The rest are clean.

Any suggestions for a good price on ekowool or braided silica? Anyone tried the ekowool cord?

If you can wait, co-ops are the best way to get a good price for Ekowool. The ones I've participated in charge around $17 for 10 yards of the hollow versions and $24 for the solid 1.5mm. Stormy's sells it for $4 for two feet, while Kidney Puncher is a little more.

1320 pages is unbelievable lol. I'm not even going to try to follow this discussion. So here's my question: I've tried both DIY and pre-mixed tobacco flavors and I have to assume they are all (so far) not (natural?) good. American red from WL tasted like a dandelion field, and the 5-star rated RY-4 tastes like chemical soup. I recently tried a pipe tobacco called Couramin from desert vapes, and it pretty much tastes just like RY4 to me. I've tried almost every tobacco from WL, only to find a mix of RY-ish to flowerpots.. but nothing that remotely tastes like real tobacco. So far, the saddest admission is that the BLU tobacco flavor has been the closest. I'm told that's from Hangsen, but wanted to ask before I order.. are those also "chemical" tobacco flavors?

Any suggestions for someone like me who is apparently sensitive to florals (they make me gag). I love almost every dessert flavor I've tried, so I'm not just adverse to DIY flavoring or something. In fact, most pre-mix stuff to me is off-putting, whereas I can tailor my DIY to my preferred TH, chest hit, vapor, nic, etc...

I just want a decent tobacco flavor, and getting a solid marlboro or other flavor would be nice, and getting a really nice pipe tobacco would be even better. I've wasted a ton of money searching for it

Sounds like you'd be happy with e-liquids like Ahlusion Devil Dog!, Ahlusion Blue Grass Burley (my personal favorite NET), Want2Vape's Signature blends, and Mountain Oak Vapor Apache. I'd also keep my eye on Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco.com.

Just got my IGO-L in the mail. My first dripper!
Loaded up London for the first time. For me, this is a little better than Louisville, but it's too sweet on the initial drip (I'm probably over dripping). It's crazy how much this feels like smoking a pipe... but better. Not the ADV I'm looking for, but diggin it.
MOV order should be here in a couple days. Got the 15ml 3 pack (Apache, Southern Gentleman. and Hey Jack).
Thanks all for info.

I thought London would be my #1 and thus loaded it in my prize pipe Stirling - labuenapipa.com and vape that juice exclusively on it. And I do love it. But while nights and weekends are W2V cigars and A+ Maple Burley, the workdays find me turning to Lousville time and time again. Based on just what I vape the most it is way ahead of the Dog and London right now. In spite of myself I keep coming back to it.

Those Camel Turkish Royals were gorgeous! Unfortunately they were difficult to find in the NYC metro area, and completely impossible to find in Australia (not distributed). If you liked those you should also check out Quick Nic's new Humpback in addition to Sahara.

The Sahara Blend is from Ahlusion. That juice smells spot on like a Camel cig. QuickNicJuice also has a really good Turkish called Hump Back.

Yeah those WL flavorings are synthetic tobaccos. MyVapeJuice and naturally-extracted-tobaccos sell concentrated natural tobacco extracts for DIY.

For pre-mixed natural tobacco, my opinion is GoodeJuice's House Brewed line is the best place to start. Amazing pipe and cig vapes.

Big Juicy, though I haven't tried the Dog or London, I agree Louisville seems to have just the right balance of straight Tobacco flavor, sweetness, and a satisfying mouth-feel that keeps you wanting more. It doesn't have the excessive earth/dirty taste, overly aggressive throat punch, nor gunking factor of Paris which I like as well.

Great looking e-pipe!

The vapor on the Eko-Phoenix is improving. I confess I never did redo it after hearing about torching and twisting (I did neither) because as you all know my patience with RBAs is pretty low. I had to use my tweezers to lift the coil nearly to the level of the screws, and that helped a lot... previously the coil had almost been submerged.

The only reason I can see for not preferring this to my mesh Phoenix, is that the Eko tends to hold onto flavors a bit longer. It takes about two fill-ups-worth to get the old flavor out completely, whereas with the mesh it is pretty much instantaneous. Also the vapor is still thicker and better with the mesh. But it isn't bad, not at all.

Also used the ribbon Kanthal to wire up my AGA-T, which I filled with an old favorite: Red Pirate. If ever there was a juice designed to be vaped in an RBA it's this one: icky icky sticky. Half a tank down on the Kamry and it is delightful: all the toasted-cereal graininess I love plus an Ahlusion-like aromatic edge that perfectly suits the decaf mocha I'm having before bed.
