Shatner, I was already doing a full training regime when I relapsed back into 25+ cigarettes a day habit about 12 months ago and kept this up for 6 months. I then went back to vaping and stopped smoking completely again about 6 months ago. My training never stopped.

Apart from the obvious negative of having smoked again in the first place, having gone from smoking to vaping all the while doing a steady and regular training routine gave me a real chance to see the health benefits of vaping. My fitness improved remarkably by doing nothing more than quitting smoking and going back to vaping. When I was smoking I noticed that my lungs would get congested during exercise and the irritation from the lungs working hard would make me cough in the gym. My heart rate was much higher as a smoker and I was less fit, even though I was going to the gym consistently and doing a vigorous cardio workout. There is a ceiling on fitness as a smoker. Cardio expands the lungs and increases their efficiency in using oxygen, smoking does the exact opposite and antagonises any attempt at fitness and health.

When I started to vape again my fitness rised sharply, my lungs felt like they had another cylinder and I didn't get the awful cough during and after the workout. Importantly, my fitness level did not seem to have a ceiling anymore. I could be as fit as I wanted so long as I was prepared to do the required training. As a smoker, it doesn't matter how much training you do, once you smoke a packet or two of cigarettes between the last workout and the next, your lungs are back where they started.

I think when we call Vaping a 'reduced harm alternative' to smoking we are engaging in extreme conservatism and semantics. Vaping to me is not a reduced harm alternative to smoking it is an alternative form of getting nicotine and still ranks as quitting smoking all together.

I have also quit smoking and gone cold turkey about 8 years ago and at that time I also had a training routine which overlapped both periods. As far as my body's response to quitting smoking 8 years ago and quitting smoking - starting vaping is concerned, they were the same. Vaping wasn't any less effective a measure of maximum performance in the gym or recovery afterwards.

And on this note, thinking about this and reflecting on how beneficial to change from smoking to vaping has been only makes me more angry that the EU has banned e-cigs but continues to allow people to buy cigarettes freely.

I've been completely neglecting my NET liquids. 230ml of Mad Murdoch Agent Orange were delivered yesterday. I'm trying to not give all of my attention to AO, but man, it's really good. I might mix up a little 3ml with some NET, don't know which yet and a bit of AO. I'll let you guys and gals know if I do it and how it turns out. Maybe with HHV Shadow or Dark Horse. Hmm.

On another note, it seems like vaping is having no negative effects causing me issues with exercise. I was on the treadmill for almost an hour (52 minutes and some change) today at with a slow jog pace, level deck. After that an hour of weightlifting exercise with my PT. Never really felt short of breath. I mean, of course I did because of intense workout. But not any more than normal. Confirmed by Brady, my trainer.

Jef I got my phoenix package just a few days ago from a co-op which included the V4-V8 inclusive. The first dripper I used was the V4. It's creating wonderful flavour and vapor. It came with a pre-installed build and they did a good job. If I had to give any advice (which I know wasn't asked and you may well be a RBA guru for all I know) it would be to keep the wick short to maximise the air flow inside this RBA's relatively small chamber. Create the coil on an angle of about 60 degrees where only one side of the wick is absorbing juice. There isn't enough work space in the atty to have both sides of the wick absorbing juice and you will constrict air flow.

It's a perfect atty for a micro coil.

Now having said all of this it is possible I have identified the wrong version of the Phoenix I am using but I am 90% sure the one I am currently using is the V4.

I think it's the Phoenix V4... I won the "big package" on Modenvy last week: k100 in black, a rebuildable dripper, a Protank and 5 pack of coils.

I had to order batteries, charger, Kanthel and Silica to be able to use the free stuff :glare::oops:

If I knew these things were under $10, I would have picked one up a while ago :)

I have to say I am quite surprised at how much Sahara has changed with steeping. My Sahara, like everyone else's was a pale colour to start and I sampled it a couple of times, with a week gap between each sampler and both times it did not appeal to me. It had a harsh flavour in it that reminded me a bit of the artificially bolstered tobacco flavours of juices like Morley from W2V and the tobacco Highbrow liquids. Having read a few posts here I decided to give it another go now that it has had 3-4 weeks of steeping. It is now an off pink, like a brown-pink.

The sharp off flavour I got in the beginning is all but gone! Rare is the juice that can transform profoundly enough for me to dislike it unsteeped and like it in its steeped disposition. This juice is one of those rare ones. Now I am really liking it. Now it has an acidic tartness to it with a lovely undertone of sweet powder. The mental imagery it gives me is of sand heated under a brilliant sun. Fertile Earthiness, gold and tan. How this Sahara from ahlusion has gone from hsit to shine is amazing.

On the topic of Turkish tobaccos the Quicknic Name Your Juice Turkish is blossoming for me as well with some steeping. It's a bold, non nonsense oriental type juice. It's quite different to Sahara from ahlusion. It's got distinct medium spectrum cigar notes in it and a hint of grass.

These are my two favourite turkish tobaccos at the moment.

AnthonyB, thanks for the tips! I should have it tomorrow at the latest. My batteries and purchased supplies will be here today.

Hey everybody, I know I haven't been extremely active (post-wise, anyway) on this forum, but I consult it religiously (especially this thread) and want to start by thanking all of you for the gold mine of information you've supplied. I am almost exclusively an NET vaper and have sticking mostly with GoodeJuice and HHV (I like to switch between the incredibly rich tobacco flavors in the House Blends and the subtle-sweet delights from HHV) but have been thinking about branching out (certainly not out of disappointment with the aforementioned vendors-- I just received more Dragon Fire and Serendipity today and only moments ago ordered some Acadian Gold).

I have heard great things about Ahlusion, but when I checked out their site they warned about their NETs being particularly partical-laden and thick. I use a Vamo, generally with a protank, or other Kanger BCC clearos (T3s and EVODs specifically). Should I worry about Ahlusion NETs not working well with these devices? And if it's a green light, what do you experts suggest I start with from them?

Obviously, I am also open to any other suggestions regarding vendors and/or juices you strongly recommend.

Thanks again in advance-- keep up the good work! If it weren't for all of you I probably would have gone back to analogs after giving my blu away; instead I have a torrid love affair with vaping. Keep fighting the good fight.

I haven't found that to be true. The non-aromatics in particular were very clean (to me).

I agree. I think the warning on the site says they don't recommend the use of cartos and tanks. That's not because the juices contain particulate matter, but because the flavor isn't as good in cartos. I think.

Yeah, it was a vendor's opinion on hardware more than anything.

This is spot on advice. I'm vaping this now, and the wick can be even shorter if you want. Put the cap on so the hole is pointing right at the coil and you're golden.

Looks like my coil is starting to get dirty, I'll vape some of my atty refresher (Sahara Blend) to clean it right up :D

Well said Anthony. My guess is both Sahara and Dulce involve some synthetic tobacco to add certain notes. Or maybe a touch of TA or some other ingredient to play with the extracted tobacco. Sahara has worked great since day one for me, no issues. Dulce has a synthetic Cuban cigar taste that's familiar to me, and wasn't a fan of initially. Suddenly last night it was just ROCKIN it for me, I must have been in the right mood for it. It reminded me that the juice it seems familiar to did the same thing for me, sometimes it worked really well and other times it was kind of meh. So Dulce will probably be a "when in the right mood" juice. Sahara is anytime baby.

Also agree on your sentiment about Hump Back. Both are fantastic Turkish vapes that play quite different tunes.

Like others said, Ahlusion NETs are clean, you're good.

For suggestions, mine is to try MountainOakVapors NETs. I love HHV and GeJ, you love HHV and GeJ. I love MOV, you may dig them too. My favorites from them are Pendragon (similar to HHV's style), Southern Gentleman, and Apache (if you want to try a really bold vape).
