The kayfun has profoundly changed my life.
VAMO extension tube + K101 (or K100) = Kickable K101 with 18650 battery.
Ha! You got one too? Old Toby wasn't in my gift. I got a bunch of fruity joints. I think Rebecca liked them. LOL
I'm starting the day with Organic #1 in my 1.5 ohm iClear16.
Last night I wound down with Vita Bella and GJ4 in my Phoenix v4 RDA with a 1.2 ohm microcoil using 3mm Ekowool.
I'm starting my day with Vita Bella in a Phoenix w/microcoil. No idea what version. Probably makes no matter. Tasting great!!!
I may be ending my day like this if my wire gets here as scheduled and my nimble fingers cooperate. How many wraps do you do and how many ohms did you get? If you have a link to a video you prefer, that would be awesome too.![]()
What gauge Kanthal did you get Sharon? And what kind and size wick?
Finally, what PV are you intending to use?
28g and I'm planning to use cotton on a zmax mini.
28ga is conducive to a microcoil because it is low resistance. Search up "How to build a microcoil" on YouTube. Probably 10 wraps and it will give you around one ohm or a little more. Some regulated mods will not fire if you're too low (safety).
Among the many nice folks I've connected with who are vaping retailers, Paul is right up there as one of the nicest. I always feel a little bad when I don't like one of his juices, and in this particular sampler, I didn't like any of them. Not one. Zero for seven.

Agree with Bronze if you're using a mechanical mod. I wrap on a 1/16 drill bit or screwdriver of same size. Lightly torch wire before wrapping to remove machining impurities and some springiness. Wrap each round almost on top of last round to keep them touching. 10 wraps should be around 1 ohm. Wick with cotton, fit snug not tight and no long tails. Lots of good info here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/416271-micro-coils-increase-vapor-flavor-th.html
Bingo. That thread is huge, but will help you get a micro coil set-up that will work. There's videos in that thread by ECF members that are the best micro coil vids available. Others like ones by Phil Busardo, GrimGreen, and Todd are made as they make their first or one of their first micros, and they get a LOT wrong. The vids in that thread are by members who've made hundreds of micro coils. There's also a video by Xobeloot that shows how to do the cotton wick and just how crazily little cotton is used.
Bronze vid posted is an excellent one for the Phoenix. You won't be making the coil the same, but it points out 2 important things about that atty. First, the pin in the connection post moves around easy and breaks contact. I actually took the pin out and wrapped floss around it before inserting so it fits snug. Second, you can't screw the top cap down all the way. You need to back it off a bit so the airhole points directly at your coil. I actually dislike the Phoenix except for vertical SS mesh builds, but others have better luck with it.
