VAMO extension tube + K101 (or K100) = Kickable K101 with 18650 battery. Huh. Figured that out on probably the last combination of mod parts I tried to fit together. When my Nemesis comes in I'll have about 50 new combos to try.

Totally, 100%, absolutely sold on cotton for my drippers.

Using a metal drip tip that happens to touch the positive post in a dripper produces a new flavor note for all juices.. tingly.

That is all.

Ha! You got one too? Old Toby wasn't in my gift. I got a bunch of fruity joints. I think Rebecca liked them. LOL

Among the many nice folks I've connected with who are vaping retailers, Paul is right up there as one of the nicest. I always feel a little bad when I don't like one of his juices, and in this particular sampler, I didn't like any of them. Not one. Zero for seven.

I'm starting the day with Organic #1 in my 1.5 ohm iClear16.

Last night I wound down with Vita Bella and GJ4 in my Phoenix v4 RDA with a 1.2 ohm microcoil using 3mm Ekowool.

I'm starting my day with Vita Bella in a Phoenix w/microcoil. No idea what version. Probably makes no matter. Tasting great!!!

I may be ending my day like this if my wire gets here as scheduled and my nimble fingers cooperate. How many wraps do you do and how many ohms did you get? If you have a link to a video you prefer, that would be awesome too. :)

What gauge Kanthal did you get Sharon? And what kind and size wick?

Finally, what PV are you intending to use?

Go to tasteyourjuice.com, Pbusardo has his original microcoil video on the front page, plus a follow up article on the "proper" way to set up... he makes it easy to understand, and he also tried other things but came back to one. Always entertaining, always made for the everyman.

What gauge kanthal did you buy, Sharon? What ohms are you looking for? What are you going to use as wick?

Sharon, there are a billion ways to build a Phoenix and there are a quadtrillion videos showing you. No matter how I tell you to rebuild one, someone will come along and say I'm an idiot and their way is better. Just the nature of ECF and people. The first vid I pulled up is as good as any. Your resistance will depend on the number of wraps, wire gauge, and how big the wick is. This vid shows a good median point using 32 ga. One point, some Phoenix have a hole in the screw terminal where yo can insert the wire and screw down. Some yo have to wrap around the screw and tighten. I don't know what kind you have. Doesn't matter...they work all the same. Ask more ?'s if you need to. Someone will help you to be sure.

28g and I'm planning to use cotton on a zmax mini.

28ga is conducive to a microcoil because it is low resistance. Search up "How to build a microcoil" on YouTube. Probably 10 wraps and it will give you around one ohm or a little more. Some regulated mods will not fire if you're too low (safety).

Agree with Bronze if you're using a mechanical mod. I wrap on a 1/16 drill bit or screwdriver of same size. Lightly torch wire before wrapping to remove machining impurities and some springiness. Wrap each round almost on top of last round to keep them touching. 10 wraps should be around 1 ohm. Wick with cotton, fit snug not tight and no long tails. Lots of good info here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/416271-micro-coils-increase-vapor-flavor-th.html

While I do not doubt this, check my recent post at negative retailer reviews forum

Looks like you won't be ordering again from Moondrop. Getting stiffed (ignored) is especially aggravating. That's happened to me on more than one occasion with different vendors.

Just as well I guess. The Old Toby was so bad it made me sick. I had heard and read it was forbidden plant flavor combined with tobacco (either artificial or TA) and that sounded nice enough to get me excited. Maybe the tobacco would balance out the pine taste. Nein. It was really dreadful. An insult to the Tolkien name it took its name from. Unlike Long Bottom Leaf from EPM, which while not an NET, to many hardly a tobacco vape at all, and not for everyone I really enjoy. It is the only non NET juice other than A+ w&A sassy that is in my current rotation.

But back to the topic...

I am spending the weekend with NETCOM H+ Yellow Mane and W2V Managua. The yellow mane is an expceptional portrayal of an acid blonde. Quite wondrous. If you are not a heavy cigar person, but enjoy Big Spirit, GEJ Analog or Wrangler Light, or even VS Tampa, then I suggest getting a sample of this. In the simplest terms possible it lies exactly between Big Spirit and Managua. That is a pretty good place to be.

Bingo. That thread is huge, but will help you get a micro coil set-up that will work. There's videos in that thread by ECF members that are the best micro coil vids available. Others like ones by Phil Busardo, GrimGreen, and Todd are made as they make their first or one of their first micros, and they get a LOT wrong. The vids in that thread are by members who've made hundreds of micro coils. There's also a video by Xobeloot that shows how to do the cotton wick and just how crazily little cotton is used.

Bronze vid posted is an excellent one for the Phoenix. You won't be making the coil the same, but it points out 2 important things about that atty. First, the pin in the connection post moves around easy and breaks contact. I actually took the pin out and wrapped floss around it before inserting so it fits snug. Second, you can't screw the top cap down all the way. You need to back it off a bit so the airhole points directly at your coil. I actually dislike the Phoenix except for vertical SS mesh builds, but others have better luck with it.

That's the fun of their videos. Todd and Pbusardo made their first micro-coils on tape. We all got it wrong the first time, so it was nice to see others do as well. Good for the old self-esteem :) But they tried more than one approach, and both have continued on and made note in other videos on their progress. Not everyone can jump in with DrifterX skill and prefection, and yet ones first few coils will, more than likely, work. And then we strive to get better and make a better coil the next time.
