Pipster,
If I might expand. The only tobacco vapes that have satisfied me are NETs. I can't think of any NET that I've been satisfied with when vaped in my PT2. I have only gotten good performance of NETs from RDAs and my KFL clone. My PT2 is dedicated to Boba's Bounty (an arti)=something to vape when I'm pre-occupied, but need the nic and smoke. That said, it's possible that some vendor's tobacco e-juices work well in a PT2, but I'll never know as I'm not a fan of vendors whose tobaccos are flavored with Baskin-Robbins flavor of the day. Just isn't my thing.
Baskin-Robbins flavor of the day TOBACCO is what is turning me off. Doesn't hit the G Spot for me either.. So I have to upgrade my gear to get the sweet spot i'm looking for with a NET? Arghh. I am just not ready for the big boy/girl stuff. Replacing the silica wicks with cotton was a an easy improvement, but that's as far as I want to fiddle at this point. I just can't see myself with a a big mod and all that goes into that..as of yet.

So far.. I do not dig the arty tobaccos, at all. I have relied mostly on fruity vapes and minty vapes so far, dessert, creamy vapes on occasion, which are great, but I would love one flavorite, satisfying go-to tobacco juice in my arsenal. It doesn't have to be analog-type, just something tasty and deep-rich, not too sweet that my brain says...yes..this is tobacco. I want the tobacco to be the front note and other accompanying flavors to be a less distracting, but enhancing side note.

Based on your description, I would say you are a prime candidate for Heathers Heavenly Vapes Huntsman NET. It's been described as grassy, earthy, woodsy with a maple note on the exhale. I just describe it as yummy! It has a rich, non intrusive tobacco flavour profile with good throat hit and a slightly sweet taste.

Following conventional advice, I tried my new A+ vapemail today in RDAs. SC was extremely nutty for me and Vurley had a great vanilla flavor, but neither exhibited much tobacco. Both had a STRONG chemical taste. Based on that, I decided not to try the JG Blend. All will be set aside for a LONG steep (especial long as I stupidly selected the default PG/VG.)

All my non-aros need a serious steep. I'm not getting chemical notes, but they are just too smooth and subtle. SC tastes like cinnamon toast crunch to me, rather than nutty.

Jerms said he thought maple burley was the tamest of the aro line. For me, Vurley is lighter. That being said, I'm still enjoying it very much.

My trident center post broke on the slot.... Not good. Guess ill have to get one of the cheap pmma ones for a replacement deck.

I got a FT origin in beginning of the week. By far my favorite of my 4 mechs. Really nice switch, threading, finish, and contacts. It's 21mm instead of 22 which I LOVE, but most won't. The locking switch is wierd at first but now I really like it. It's also the shortest mod I have in 18650 mode. I like it so much I'm gonna get another one. My 2 aquas can't come soon enough.

Sounds like you might enjoy Heather's Heavenly Vapes: NETs (mostly Cavendish blends) with tobacco and others flavors. Legend (mid-sweet pipe tobacco with cherry notes), Serendpity (mid-sweet pipe tobacco with coffee/black tea notes), Oompa (mid-sweet pipe tobacco with a spicy cocoa), Heavenly ARMY (creamy tobacco with graham, maybe cocoa), Shadow (creamy tobacco with vanilla notes). Huntsman -- woodsy tobacco with maple and honey.

NET.com: GOLD (slightly sweet Virginia), Black Cavendish (smokey with a funk and slight sweetness)

GoodEjuice: ANALOG (cigarette blend of Cavendish and Virginias, mid-sweet full bodied flavor), Acadian GOLD (strong Virginia with a hint of sweetness); Organic #1 (Burley goodness, smoky, hint of sweet and other tempting mystery flavors.

From what you've had, I think HHV would be your best choice in finding the best of both worlds.

Awesome recommendations jefs. Im probably in the minority but I didn't care for black cav or the other pipe blends I tried (Chris' blend, and coventry) but I'd agree the others are perfect places to start.

Oh yeah and Patriot of course.

I had to. Besides the gunking issues of most NET tobacco vapes, there is a taste issue for me. For instance, I really enjoy Patriot (perique/Cavendish/burley) It's probably the best none-gunking, all NET tobacco in my stable. It is great in an RDA or even in a KFC, but when I tried it in a PT2, it was terrible. If I had vaped it in the PT2 the first time I tried Patriot, I would have never tried Patriot again.
On the other hand, I have READ that HHV NET juices don't gunk and I have READ about people who satisfactorily vape HHV NETs in clearos including PT@s. So as suggested by others, HHV may be what you are looking for.

@pipster: I find I prefer NETs in top coil clearos when I use clearos. I think tobacco need the warmth, or, at least, it seems right for the tobacco flavors. I have ran NETs in Kanger T2s and Innokin iClears with satisfactory results. The iClears are fairly easy to dry burn as well and the flavor is good -- not Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer good, but good enough. T2's can be dry burned as well, just a bit less room to work with. I've run Organic #1 from Goodejuce, Analog, and several HHV liquids through both types, and yes there is gunking, but dry burns work.

The only bottom coil systems that have worked for me are the rebuildable tank design, such as the kayfun-style.

Others here have used top coil clearos with NETs, some more exclusively than others and have been happy with the results. Don't despair.

Do you mean the vanilla is lighter than the maple or that the tobacco is lighter?

Jerms may have a point. It could be that I like chocolate milk made with Hershey's and A+ is chocolate milk made with Nestlé's Quick. Hershey's has always been my favorite, but after a while I've acquired a taste for Nestlé's too. Oh, and a shot of malt in my chocolate milk now and then, too. mmmm

A+ is chocolate milk made with fresh cocoa and unprocessed sugar made from Michigan sugar beets and raw whole milk from a local organic dairy farm. But I get your point.

If your using Protank with cotton wick

then maybe start with ahlusion (NON aromatic Tobacco's) and HHV purity line tobacco's

they are good medium to light bodied NET tobacco's
and when your ready to upgrade you know you will get more tobacco feel and presence with heavier NET's

but all of these are good its where I started and still vape them along side other newer to me NETs
and can tell you
I cant stand most non NET tobacco's for long anymore

Good analogy. About every NET enthusiast is going to want to try Ahlusion, HHV, W2V, GeJ, and MOV. Chances are pretty good at least one isn't going work for them, but need to try to find out. Some people find they like just one or two vendor so much that the others just don't work for them.

I think another possible issue is that your expectations were set way to high ;) If that's the case, they may really turn around for you later. With as bad a reaction as you had though, I wouldn't be surprised if you never like them. Unless you're like BJ who despised certain flavors and then suddenly changes his mind and loves them. :D

Great advice. Yep, there's a few great options for very clean NETs that work in about any system. HHV, Ahlusion's non-aros, a few from MOV. CravinVapes seemed pretty clean, and random ones like H1N1 from Nico are clean.

Like VCJ said, it's mostly light to medium tobaccos that fit that bill. The heavier and more aggressive tobaccos tend be be bigger gunkers and work best with drippers like atomizers and rebuildable drippers.

I don't know what was wrong with DD but my bottle is awesome. Granted, this is my first time tasting it so perhaps there's been some changes that I'm not aware of.

More than likely... and we are just guessing of course... it was only an issue with the particular mixes in question or the batch... that is part of why the reluctance of posting it and mentioning it to Wlad was being talked about as well.

Thanks for posting this, rdsok!!!! Let it be known that DD was a revelatory vape for me. So yes, I was completely apprehensive about posting what I said and bringing it up to the maker--especially having known the liquid so well and having stated (repeatedly) how much I was a fan. If what anyone has is awesome, I am not surprised; conversely, if what you have is not "right," I can understand that too. Hopefully it was just that one batch from late November early December that erawk and I both seem to have experience with.

My first bottle on SC had a VERY strong solvent/perfume smell. The BG Burley was the same. I left both uncapped except for a daily shake. If you sniff the bottle before shaking you'll get a good idea as to how it's doing. After a full week of this they were both vapable and quite tasty. I just reordered 60 ml of SC.

I went to two vape shops last night and a few employees mentioned that they don't really care for tobacco e-liquids. I let them try some Sahara Blend and Vita Bella...and they were blown away. The recurring theme was, "Wow! I didn't know a tobacco juice could taste like that." While I love the number of high-quality vape shops in SoCal, it bugs me that the vast majority of them don't stock NETs. It really bugs me that many shops believe that Halo is the best tobacco e-liquid company. *sigh*

Halo? HALO??? I'd say that you must be kidding, Ray, but I presume you're not. I hope your experience is atypical. If it isn't, what a sad commentary on this young industry.
