I'm glad you are finding some good juices Mookie. I've said before, smoke juice is like fish. Mommy fish will lay 10,000 eggs but only four will make it to adulthood. Nothing wrong with not liking an entire line of smoke juice. I'm not an expert on the kind of flavors it seems you're after. But I'm sure someone will be helping you with more suggestions now that they have an idea what suits your fancy.

If anyone knows or understand what I'm trying to describe as that "green" flavor is please let know. Also any other recommendations of juice that is like VS Tampa would be greatly appreciated.

I understand exactly what you're saying here. I usually inadvertently think "green" when it turns out I'm vaping something grassy and "yellow" when I'm vaping something that's haylike. For me, I'm sure it's a mental association between the colors of grass and hay. Interesting phenomenon, eh?

I've got some VS Tampa on hand and I'll give it another go and try to get back to you with some recommendations.

Told you Mookie. Now that you have found a couple of flavors that are in line with what you like, one of these guys who can relate to those juices can start looking and recommend some alternatives that might interest you. At least it would improve your odds. Don't be afraid to continue offering them info or tell them you think they are not understanding you if you think they are not interpretating you right. Descriptive adjectives are difficult to find. You wont hurt anyone's feelings if you correct them. These guys just want to help you and they are the right people to do it based on your preferences.

Natural Perique. Nothing cigaretty here. Dark, smooth pipe tobacco. This is probably the mildest of the four I've tried so far. Slightly dry, a little hint of sweet, clean, nothing complex, just tobacco. I must say it's surprising how realistic the "tobacco" experience has been with all these GeJ juices. Vaping this NP I can close my eyes and imagine I'm holding a pipe and not a PV.

Exactly. In my opinion GEJ, W2V, VapeRite, and now I'd add relative newcomer Ahlusion, are the very best at crafting NET juices that really are just plain good tobacco flavor. And I like that... It's not always what I want in my PV but a day rarely goes by when I'm not vaping some "straight" tobacco.

I wanted to say thank you for the juice recommendations. I got some from The Plume Room and from Vapor Station. I really like the VS Tampa and VS4 with Tampa being my favorite. I'm not eloquent or good at reviews so I will not even attempt. What I can say is the VS is very clean, straight forward cigarette tobacco tasting to me. I love Tampa and will be ordering more and would like to try some of their other flavors as well.

The Plume Room isn't for me. It has that flavor that makes me think green if that means anything? It has a tangy, possibly what one might call grassy note that doesn't agree with me. I always thought that flavor came from tobacco absolute but now I wonder what exactly it is so I know how to avoid it. I am not in anyway trying to bash TPR. It is a very good quality juice and I'm sure loved by many. I wish I could describe the base note better but Im not familiar enough with individual components or types of tobacco juice to do so.

If anyone knows or understand what I'm trying to describe as that "green" flavor is please let know. Also any other recommendations of juice that is like VS Tampa would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try the Plume Room Honey Fig Tobacco, Candied Cavendish or Burley With Candy? Unique and outstanding IMHO... But not at all like a cigarette, or any candy I've ever had...

The NET I've had that most closely resembles the "good parts of the experience" of smoking a light cigarette is the GeJ Wrangler Light. But I haven't tried the Tampa and don't care for RJ4-type juices (with the arguable exception of Patiot) so have no point of reference to your experience with that...

Tobacco is a plant. "Earthy" and "grassy" are often used descriptions of that taste. It seems more pronounced in some tobacco strains than in others, and more noticeable in the real, extracted tobacco juices as opposed to the non-extracted kind. I'm speaking of the ones that don't cover it up. Gandalf (from HHV), for instance, is a extracted tobacco, but there's nothing earthy or grassy in it, but then there's a lot more in Gandalf than just tobacco.

I've never tried Tampa, but your description of it sounds like GeJ Wild Turkey or Acadian Gold. Both fall into the "cigarette" type tobacco category to me.

Tampa isn't a NET but a lot of folks, including Vapenstein, swear by it's cigarette likeness. Haven't tried that one yet for myself...

Yeah, I can't even pick out the tobacco in Gandalf it just "feels" like it's in there to me, which of course it is.

Virginia Tobacco is supposed to taste grassy and hay-like. Not a top favorite tobacco for me overall, but still better than a fake pineapple... And every now and then i do "crave" some Virginia.

I'd agree that Wild Turkey has a flavor profile more like a full-flavored cigarette, especially a Camel. WT is a constant presence for me lately and I am vaping some now. I clearly taste the Perique element in Acadian Gold so that puts it squarely in the Mild Pipe category for me, but I can see your point as far as it being more cigarette-like than Natural Perique or Vita bella...

Ahhhhhhh!! BAD USPS, BAD!!

So sorry...

Just noticed the "We Care", sorry about your loss but that made me grin.

Have you considered filtering what remains through a coffee filter? (not a recommendation, just saying...)

El Toro is one I much want to try too.

I dropped a 30ml of something once and shattered it. Must not have been that good because I can't even remember what it was, but as elegant as glass is I opt for plastic when I have a choice now.

Apple Cured. This is pretty nice, although I'm fairly convinced it needs more steeping. I can barely taste the tobacco (egads! faint tobacco flavor in a GeJ juice!?). The apple is really over powering everything else and I suspect that will even out better with some age. The apple is really nice though, not a sweet apple taste, but very tart, almost (but not quite) a sour apple kind of taste. I think tart says it best. Very realistic. It's really strong on the exhale and leaves a "I just swallowed a bite of apple" lingering in your mouth. I can even taste it again when I swallow. That's neat. I don't know what tobacco is in this, but it's really, really mild.

I'm kinda digging on this. It's apple, it's tobacco, what's not to like?

A Camel was EXACTLY what I thought of vaping WT ( I was scared to say that out loud). :)

AG wasn't nearly as close to a cigarette as WT was to me, but also didn't neatly fit into what I think of as pipe tobacco.

Hay, err, hey, at least VS worked for you. I had a nagging suspicion that you would like the lab work, but I wasn't sure so I also suggested TPR. I see you are verified, so go ahead and put it in the classies.

Not really, though I can see how you'd come to that thought, VS lab tobaccos taste more like a cigarette than NETs (I believe) because the majority of cigarettes don't exactly taste like tobacco -- actually cigarettes taste like they were made in a lab.

Well. like I keep saying, I don't know how else to describe them. They aren't a cigar, nor really pipe tobacco. "Cigarette" is as close as my unsophisticated taste buds can come. :)

Strictly speaking about WT and AG here by the way. None of the other NETS I've tried taste anything like a cigarette, just those two, and mainly WT. Some NETS I've tried (eg Gadalf) barely even taste like tobacco, much less a cigarette. :)

Well I can't knock what it is that you taste, as it is what you taste. I think Vic was the one who said (or maybe you) something to the effect of AG and WT smelling like a fresh pack of cigs, and I would agree with that. I think the thing about those two juices is that they are (back to that other topic) non-aromatic tobacco leaves without heavy top-notes which are maybe not as "exciting" as other blends or flavored (aromatics) tobaccos, but they are sincere and honest -- that's why I adore them. YMMV (LOL)

GJ4. *sigh* I'm afraid this is going to confirm Mr.Mann's worst fears about me. :)

I'm not going to say this is the best RY4 I've ever had, although it's way up there, but I will say, this is probably what God meant for an RY4 to taste like. :)

After a brief respite with the Apple Cured, the tobacco is back. This is a bold tobacco taste, but the caramel and vanilla break it up so nicely you have to pay attention to notice it. The flavors are very complimentary. I can't tell you how many RY4 variations I've tried where the sweet flavors completely covered up the tobacco, and some where there was never any tobacco in the first place. Not to mention the ones where the juice maker for some unknown reason thought RY4 was supposed to taste like chocolate or something even worse (where did I put that duck sauce?).

This is tobacco and caramel and vanilla, emphasis slightly on the tobacco. The tobacco is playing the high notes and the sweets are playing a little duet in the background. I guess I'll stop trying to categorize these NET flavors. My understanding is Burley is primarily a cigarette tobacco, but there's nothing resembling a cigarette here.

This is good stuff.

And you say it gets a lot better with a good steep?

Great! Maybe you'll get a winner out of that batch. That's all anyone can ask for after sampling a handful of samplers. Just one good one and I'd be thrilled. Hope it holds up for you and, please, do report back on this one.

Well, it wasn't like HHV where I loved most everything I tried, but there were some possibilities. Apple Cured was good, and Vita Bella has grown on me a lot. Even the ones I wasn't exactly crazy about were still good, and I could see myself vaping them on occasion. I didn't get 7 winners, but I didn't get any losers either. All of them were worth trying, and GJ4 was a pretty solid hit.

And I only have one more to go and I hear big sighs of relief out there about that. :p
