I suspect the mods didn't want to list what amounts to a (albeit a legal version of one) vendor thread.

I'm sure that's the reason. Just a small thing, but they should have mentioned non vendor specific or something. The HHV one has more than the top 2 combined. I think Luce greased the wheels on this :p

for as many views as this thread has gotten, I hope there is a greater number of comments submitted to FDA/Congress before January 16

You have now only 3 days left (until Jan 16th) to get your comments added to the FDA's report to congress on electronic cigarettes and smokeless tobacco products. It is critical that you add to this report your experiences. Please see this thread and act now before it's too late
.

what we all do today, may be illegal/impossible in the future ... scary thought, isn't it ?

I'll remove this if someone doesn't like it, but I thought it important

Well, finally ordered the real Vita Bella. Steeped about two weeks then tried it. It tastes like nothing but a very mild syrup to me.

Wow. I got a very distict tobacco alongside the other flavor which I have yet to figure out, possibly vanilla. What juice delivery system do you use?

I ain't scairt. Scarf has shown us an easy way to extract our own. I already have some nice pipe tobacco blends picked out at the local Tinder Box. ;)

Is it cost effective to do that, or just something for kicks and giggles?
I've no clue what those pipe baccys cost.

For me, the GeJs didn't become 'good' until they steeped for 2 months. Now at 4 months they have shifted gears once more. I've had either Vita Bella, Wrangler Light or Patriot in a clearo over the last 3 months. (They all have their own now) I tasted a few times a week until they morphed into a new juice seemingly over night. All were 18mg and all changed at the same time. I suspect that if they were at a higher nic they would have taken a while longer to change. The Vita Bella now screams Vanilla over a richly satisfying Tobacco goodness. I love it! :)

Biv I have honestly not done a cost analysis. I do it as a hobby, for fun. I started out doing it to see if I could do it, and nobody was more surprised than me when they turned out good.

Keep in mind though, that even my extractions have 36mg unflavored nicquid (not Nicaragua, as my stupid autocorrect wants to change it to LOL) added in amounts ranging from 33-50% The tobacco concentrates probably have about 2-5mgs nic by themselves, but they would kill your atty in a second if you tried to vape them straight.

I too find a little bit of foreign soil greatly enhances a juice, though I prefer my Central American soil to be flavored.

I hope if there's a ban there will be a head's up before it takes effect so I can order some huge bottles of unflavored nic. I'm sure many vendors will still offer zero nicotine juices. Worse case scenerio would be I would have to pick up some vg and lorannes at Wal-Mart. Boy o boy would I miss the artisan juices though.

Tropical Bob's video on Snus would be about my limit. But I really hope it doesn't come to that as there's too many incredible flavors, equipment and newfound pals out there.

Has anyone here tried extracting nicotine from snus? The threads I've read seem kind of inconclusive as to whether or not there was a useful amount of nicotine extracted. Plus isn't snus kind of salty?

I have a very large stash of premium cigars and pipe tobacco that I want to extract flavor from (tried a small batch from a Cuban cigar using the quick extraction method and it is great!) and I would really like to be able to DIY extract a serviceable amount of nicotine and have the ability to be self sustaining vape-wise if possible.

You'll get some nicotine in your extracted juice even if you don't add any.

That's true....plus aged cigars don't have much nicotine anyway and they are still quite enjoyable.

Maybe that would be the way to go - just vape for flavor and the slight glow from whatever tobacco constituents are extracted. Maybe kick that nicotine habbit once-and-for-all!:)

If the FDA manages to do something that affects us too much, that's exactly my plan. :)

Vita Bella took a long time to morph into that vanilly flavor. One juice that changed dramatically for the better.
