Interesting RD. I need to get started on a couple of my W2V premiums that I haven't tried yet before they start moving back in flavor.

I smoked a Montecristo Classic today. Being Churchill sized it took over a couple hours, so with not vaping an hour before or a couple hours after (nic OD) didn't get much vaping in. I have been revisiting my HoL NETs and Guevara jumped up a notch for me. Nothing spectacular, but a pretty enjoyable straight tobacco vape. It's a cigar vape but not in the same way as Cigarillos and Puros. More straight pipe or even RYO. It's pretty dry and complex enough to be interesting.

Ha! We've been talking about TA all day and for some reason my mind never even went to that they could using the term extract to mean TA is being used. Especially since back then, saying these are made from an extract would only mean TA (I think). Asking them the extraction method used might figure things out, but since you'll be tasting them anyways that should settle everything.

Since my hiatus/departure I began broadening my tobacco stash to not only include NETs but TA juices, TE juices, synthetics and mash-ups. Basically, if "tobacco" is in the title/description, I may give it a shot. Now I really like appreciating regular juice mixers, skilled extractors, and of course, flavor chemists (though I know of only one). ;) I think that including some synthetics like VS Tampa or Phoenix, High Desert Vapes Dueling Banjos, or even lab RY4s like SI's RY4 can keep your palate fresh without veering to far from the profile. It is something quite fascinating and reaffirming going from an hour of vaping VS Phoenix (Synth pipe) to GeJ's Patriot--it's what I like to refer to as "strategic deconditioning" (a term I borrowed from Hypertrophy Specific Training). Essentially SD, for vaping, is a way of giving your palate a rest as to prep or come down for/from the real show. The lowered intensity helps to keep me tasting at a level of high intensity. "Modulate to appreciate" is my new motto.

I'm with ya Mann. Getting into NETs actually has me interested in synthetic tobaccos more than before. I've had some great ones, but don't compare them to NETs. Just a different type of vape experience, like fruits or teas. I recently got two really old school synthetics, Janty RY4s, one of which is considered the original original RY4 in the Big RY4 round-up (I'm sure you already know this) but with an asteriks that the history is so convoluted it may not be the first.

Quite so. I have been happily puffing on some synthetic tobaccos (AVE Blend 4 and C&D, HHV Vapin' Chimp) in between NETs. And of course there are the non-tobaccos like A+ Blueberry Vanilla Cake and TPR Creamy Mint that keep my life interesting.

...I was able to finally remember what the taste is likened to... for me at least. It isn't the same, just reminiscent of something I have only experienced long ago when I was working as an assistant to a horse vet way back in around 1977 or so. They have ( or had ) an iodine scrub that they used back then to sanitize an area on a horse they were going to operate on... as well as what they would use to wash down the operating area with. The air would get thick enough with it that you could taste the iodine and other chemicals they used in it. Sort of a heavy medicinal flavor and smell...

Wow...reminiscent of horse doctor iodine...sounds like they really nailed the whole European cigarette experience!:D

Just kidding.

How is Andrea over at TPR doing? We haven't spoken in awhile. She was incredibly, incredibly kind and generous to me! We had some really detailed and on-going conversations that informed me on a lot about vendors. I wish her continued success.

Oh, I finally got White Beard after my brain toot of thinking it was a menthol. I don't have the awakeness to write a review, but I found it to be quite tasty with standard dripping. I am trying to get Aria to make a Red-Headed (Beard) Tobacco; well, and something else much more elaborate :sneaky:, but we will see.

They're very busy... I think they are planning to move? But they were one of the vendors I stocked up on while I was in the USA...I ordered an extra 30mls of Candied Cavendish because going without that simply DOES NOT BEAR THINKING ABOUT:ohmy:. I also ordered from HHV, MyVapeJuice, AVE, HoL via the Fantastic Mr. Nick, and of course Ahlusion--which was actually the first A+ order I ever placed myself as a customer, rather than having someone else do it for me and "mule" it over. But I still had to borrow my dad's credit card to do it.

EDIT: I like the White Beard too...what would be in a Red Beard tobacco? And what else can I come up with?

Yellow Beard-banana tobacco
Pink Beard-fluffy cupcake tobacco
Purple Beard-grape tobacco, maybe brandy-flavored?
Green Beard-herbal tobacco
...

Oh, let me tell ya' about Sahara Blend! I just about flipped my wig when I got that juice and tried it fresh out the mail. The craziest part is how close it is to all other "Turkish" blends, but simultaneously being what I consider to be the pinnacle! I would go so far as to call it universal for NETV, but of course there likely exists a parallel universe where all things grand suck. I once started a thread called Universal Juice Recommendations...where I called Gandalf "universal," and I basically still stand by that, but this is strictly for the NETV universality, not any vaper like I was referring to with Gandy.

If you are not able to get some soon, once I get a BIG bottle (like 60 mL) of SB, which will be soon, maybe we can start of puff puff pass on the bottle? Try it and pass it on? I thought of you specifically when I tried it for the first time.

So Sahara Blend will be available soon then? I'm really looking forward to that...the right Turkish Blend would end my search for an ADV...for a while anyway. Then I would feel more like trying other stuff (pipe and cigar flavors, etc).

Hey Bill, have you tried Nicotiana Rustica Tobacco Absolute? Some members have posted in other threads that they prefer it over the more common Nicotania Tabacum Absolute.

VM,

I don't know if I have or not. I have two 6ml bottles of TA in my flavorings stash (plus a 6ml bottle of TFA Tobacco Extract). The older bottle (almost two years old) is EcigExpress' proprietary TA. Some people have suggested that EcigExpress TA is different from standard commercial TA. I sorta doubt it. The label states only that it's diluted 50% in pure grain alcohol. The other year-old bottle is from Signature Flavors (from TFA sold through EcigExpress) and has no ingredient info at all on the label. Both liquids are almost opaque black, with that characteristic oily greenish-yellow radioactive tint. LOL. I've used both in DIY, although not recently, and I don't remember them tasting different. I'd guess that they're Nicotania Tabacum.

If anyone is interested in some juice not mentioned in this thread yet, try RiZe e-Juice Flue Cured Tobacco. Now, I DON'T know if they're any good at all, but I figured I'd at least let you all know. Maybe Bill has tried them?

MrM,

Nope. I don't remember ever having been to that site before, although the name does ring a distant, rusty old bell inside my head from my early days of vaping in late 2010. Whenever I visit a vendor and come across text that says, "liquid for refilling your carts," my mind remembers blue foam then suffers cortical brown-out. All those memories are essentially incompatible file types with my current operating system. My first PV was a Riva eGo kit that came with atties and carts. I never even tried to use the carts and went immediately to bottom feeders, box mods, and cartos. It's been all downhill from there. LOL.

My bet is that the RiZ-e juices are TA hybrids. Somehow, the idea that these are made with in-house NET or even third-party extracts doesn't quite fly for me. That's a lot of trouble to go to, along with a certain hard-core dedication to natural flavorings, especially when synthetic tobacco is plentiful and cheap. OK, they sell ECO-pure, but still, I don't get any artisan alchemist vibe from the site. My initial NET purchases (Nov 2010) were from VapeRite and Want2Vape, and neither vendor was shy about stating which of their tobacco juices were made using in-house naturally-extracted tobacco.

Yes, I've had all the TA/TE juices from Moondrop (Straight Up, Straight Up Caramel, Smith Barn Sticks), Mom&Pop (10Forty, Tobacco Haze, RYO, RY4, and RY4v2)---I still have some of all those---and more recently the in-house proprietary TAs from VelvetCloudVapor (Burley Beard, White Beard), but someone else will have to take a bullet for the team to check out the RiZ-e juices. My "sample pack" of 6ml bottles of all the CravinVapes NETs arrived today, however, so it's not like I haven't been doing my bit to keep my ridiculously huge juice warehouse growing ever-larger.

I noted your recent NET juice sale in the Classies. Baby's gonna need a new pair of shoes, eh? Belated congratulations!

Is it available now, or did you get a early sample?

I asked for it as a sample and received it, I can't say whether you'll have the same luck. Wlad might have been extra nice to me because of my ordering difficulties in the past.

It's a not as ugly as Best Damn Tobacco (what a name for that juice, LOL) but it ain't pretty. I sent some to Skinnie and TCP so they could try it. Holler at Paul from Moondrop and he may clue you in on how much. It is only "pure" in the sense that there is nothing else besides PG/VG. I think M&P may have one or two, like RYO and Bud's Blend, that is straight-up TE with varying degrees of saturation. Undoubetdly there are more, but those are the vendors that I know of that will tell you what's up.

That's funny the whole TA discussion came up today. I actually pulled out straight up last night and was vaping it and I took it with me for the day today. It's definitely down and dirty but it is satisfying when the mood strikes. Had I not know about nets it probably would have been some sort of game changer. However now having tasted the majority of nets out there I feel that TA definitely has its own place and cannot be limped together in the NET category. I do like the Moondrop TA's and will probably order more just to have on hand for when the down and dirty mood strikes.

I'm sorry but my self imposed exile is gonna be cut short!
All of a sudden, it seems, an idea has so established itself that I feel practically powerless to eradicate it! Somewhat like a well established cottonwood tree.
WHY DON'T WE HAVE A DISLIKE BUTTON???
Ya know? Instead of a little heart symbol there would be a little flaming devil next to your name. :D
I realize that I would rack up a bunch but wouldn't it be fun?
