I'm getting an Evod soon to see if it can replace Boge cartos for my on-the-go vape. The last time I tried a clearo was a top-coil affair that I hated. Taste sucked, lots of gurgles, and had to always tip it up. Like you said though, tanks (indluding clearo tanks) have come a long ways, or so I've heard.
The one requirement for me is, the thing absolutely cannot leak. The carto has worked for me out on jobs cause it can be in my pocket and abused without any worries of leaking. Hopefully the filler-less Evod can do the same. I also need something I can take out of my pocket and count on being able to take a quick stealth vape without any tilting or fiddling.

Jerms, I think you might find your Boges redundant once you try an Evod based on all you've said. I also used a top coil clearo such as a Kangar T2 (and even the T3's being BCC don't compare because they still have the inherent plastic taste in them). I too liked having Boges on the go. Boges were my favourite carto. They have great vapor and plenty of flavour. But ever since I got an Evod, Full sized Vapeonly and Mini Vapeonly I just have not had any desire to pick up a carto.
Here are the benefits of an Evod or Mini Vapeonly over Cartos such as Boge IMO:
Evod's hold 1.5-2mls of liquid. Boges requiring filling every 10 drops or so even though they can hold up to 50.
Evods vape consistently. Boges vape according to when you last filled it and then might cause juice to get in your mouth if overfilled.
Evod's have better taste in my opinion, fundamentally better.
Evods never leak in my experience whereas Boges do occasionally leak if you overfill.
Evods work with thick and thin liquids - Boges only with PG liquid or 80/20. 70/30 or over don't vape well in Boges or any cartos.
Evods are quieter therefore being better for stealth vaping. Boges are noisy.
As far as I can tell from limited experience, Evods don't leak even if upside down where a full Boge might.
An evod can be emptied and refilled with a different flavour liquid with no run off flavour but juice overlap is inevitable in a Boge if you try switching juice in the same carto.
I haven't touched a Boge or Dual coil carto since I got my good quality BCC tanks. I just haven't had a need to which is sad really. This new breed of tanks have spoilt me. I used to love Boges and still have 7 or 8 boxes of them.
