MrM,

I don't dispute anything you wrote in your post about Boba's. My personal experience vaping BB sporadically at every stage from fresh to 18 months old is that I've never been able to taste any tobacco in it. To my palate, BB is a TINO.

I too regard BB as very simple, probably just a couple of ingredients---two, maybe three tops. I just don't know what they are.

AnthonyB,

Same disclaimer---I don't dispute what you wrote about Boba's, and offer reaction only as anecdotal reporting rather than challenge. I've never picked up any banana flavor from BB. Might be there---Lord knows Boba's is famous for being a mystery flavor---but my brain balks at identifying any flavor in BB as banana. Raisin? Yes. Graham cracker? Yeah. Cola? Perhaps. Banana? Uh, no. Doesn't mean that you're wrong, just that my mileage varies.

-----

In other reporting, after months of vaping (sporadically) many of the MyVapeJuice natural tobacco extracts in DIY, something snapped in me last night. I experienced a welling-up of disappointment and even aggravation with the murkiness, lack of crispness, one-dimensionality, and general sameness of MVJ NETs. Now, I like Diane a lot, especially since she's the only vendor I know selling NETs in extract form, but I fear that the crystal-clarity and wonderful complexity of Ahlusion tobaccos (to use the most obvious comparison) have ruined me.

In a classic purge, I retired most of my tanks/clearos that were loaded with MVJ NET DIY juices. Savage Cocoa and Country Squire survived my wrath, but My Hero and Wicked Wench in various hybrids went right down the drain. I still have more of each extract, though, so my hissy fit wasn't terminal, merely radical.

In the early days of this thread, any NET got a pass from me simply because it was an NET. Not any more. Now that I've produced my own home-brewed NET, I guess I expect (require?) that retail NETs be clearly superior to my amateur efforts. Ahlusion, MOV, and GeJ all succeed in this. Not that I like every NET by those vendors, but the overall quality of their tobaccos shines through quite obviously, and in a way that impresses me, like them or not. MVJ and QnJ, however, both fail my new litmus test: They are no better than my own home-brewed NET, and some of theirs aren't even as good as mine.

That's subjective, of course, and not meant to imply that others don't or shouldn't love MVJ and QnJ NETs, but---having publicly praised both vendors' natural tobaccos initially, and even more recently having continued to give them the benefit of the doubt---I'm afraid that many of their NET juices must be removed from my stable of daily vapes, at least for awhile. I'm sure I'll revisit them later, so perhaps I'll recant. Maybe my palate just went wacky (it does that...). For now, however, I'm simply too spoiled by superb retail NETs to vape anything that strikes me as less.

I don't mean to sway everyone away from a vendor based on my experience but, I did want it to share it.

It seems to me that the vaperite juices need some steep time - I have a few left to taste before I post but, keep that in mind.

./jealous of your Ahlusion order arriving... I got the one that I placed on Monday but, not the aros yet. soon :)

We steer each other to vendors. It works both ways.

All over the place
Bill, I wanted to say something about MVJ that I had written and deleted along time ago. Part of the reason I deleted it is because I like Diane so much and I appreciate her efforts (and I had hoped this would change as her line grew), but in keeping with honesty, I would have to say that I don't care to mess with any tobaccos that have sediment that is extremely visible to the naked eye--it's not a good look. I think that I am understanding why the truly one proprietary process from all the respected NET makers is their filtration--it really does separate (no pun, LOL) them from the rest. All that said, I would bet that Diane is not going to stop pushing ahead until she figures out what needs to be figured out. I wish Diane all the best and hope she achieves better.

Dale, chin up, chest out! Your wife will likely need, at least for a little while, something sturdy to lean on.

This thread has taken some twists and turns of late... always interesting, informative and entertaining.

Welcome to the new posters here.

It's been an "odd-jobs" weekend, but got paid cash which is good. Bad news: a bad tooth, and my face is swollen; and my head got sunburned whilst doing those "odd-jobs."

@ Jerms: haven't had any problems with NETs in the BCC Protank, so your Evod should do well with them.

Stainless eVod came in today. Took it apart and very impressed right away by the look and the simplicity of the design. 3 flavor wicks, kept them in but don't see the point. Hooked up to VAMO, 2.7 ohms with stock build. Suprisingly, doesn't work with VAMO which I thought it would, but air-holes are blocked. No big deal really, could get an adaptor but I intend to use on Twists to replace cartos for on the go vaping.

I've been quiet for a bit now... simply because I've been busy with some of the tornado cleanup in the area and didn't feel like formulating a well thought out post... In fact, trying to think things through after cutting up tree's all day ... is a bit of a challenge in itself. Today differs in only because I have to get my own chores around the house done... ie mow lawn, laundry, clean dishes etc..

Now back more on topic... All of the Kanger BCC's share the same design... with a number of flavor wicks placed over the coils. These are used to help control the flow of e-liquid into the coil so it either doesn't flood or get too little juice. If you are vaping a thinner say heavier PG ratio juice, you will likely want to leave all of the flavor wicks in, on the otherhands, on thicker VG ratios you will need to remove a flavor wick or two in order to get it to flow enough and not have a dry hit. I've been moving to heavier VG ratio's so I end up leaving only 1 flavor wick in place usually.

The VAMO's come in two general varieties... plated and all stainless. I have a SS and a chrome plated one. On the chrome, the Evod's do just as Jerm's described and are completely choked off. On the SS version they work just fine. The T3 and MT3 both will require a 510/eGo adapter no matter what though. If I'm carrying both VAMO's while out, I always have extra adapters so I can use whatever I wish on the chrome plated VAMO. I hope to see Vision make a minor change to the head on the VAMO's so all of the Kangers can fit without an adapter, but we'll have to wait and see on that.

Nice CW! I remember not being overly impressed with Vaperite, but then again I was mostly using clearomizers at the time which got horribly clogged by them. I wonder what they'd taste like now that I use mostly RBAs. I think I still have some Madagascar Vanilla somewhere...

Well, I'm not overly impressed with them but, I'm not disappointed with them either - there are others out there that have similar flavor compositions that, on initial pass anyway, are pulled together a little better. In some cases, the lack of complexity leaves something missing from them. I'm not sure I would rush out and buy larger bottles of any of the flavors I tried.

That said, they are better than a lot of what I've tried (especially early on) - you can taste the tobacco and what is there is fairly well balanced. I can definitely see them being a choice for someone that enjoys less complicated flavors. (definitely not a bad thing - I find that I tend to lean more to complex mixes) If it tickles your pallet, go fer it.

If I remember correctly (and forgive me if I am miss-remembering) I remember it being said that Vaperite was one of the first NETs out there and haven't changed their recipe since then. Now, I wasn't vaping then so, I can't speak first hand but, if they were the first (or even in the first 5) vendors I tried, I would have been happy buying more.

if you do have some Madascar Vanilla laying around, I'd be interested in hearing your take on it.

Lastly, it is amazing to me the flavor differences between a clearomizer and cartomizer and a dripping atty and a RBA and the spheroid (or similar) and and and... I've said this before but, will repeat it. I love that we have a hobby that allows us to identify exactly what works for us out of the plethora of options and we can discuss those options without it turning into a fight of who is "right"... especially since what we cane from had such limited options. it always makes me smile when information is shared and people are trying new things :)

I don't think many ( if any ) would dispute the descriptions you gave that I've bolded, certainly I wouldn't. I simply have a different "take" on it... How many of the OTC tobaccos, whether they are cigarettes, cigar or pipe tobaccos, have you tried that had any other description other than that same murkiness, lack of crispness or one dimensionality? I think that MJV's e-liquids provide a similar flavor profile to the OTC tobacco's which is why I do have it in my rotation. When I'm in the mood for crisper or more interesting flavors, I will certainly vape the other vendors such as the ones you listed... but when I'm in the mood for a simple flavor profile more like the cigarettes I smoke, these do fit well.. IMO

PS.... It is a real pain in the rear to vape while cutting down trees and limbs... lol. Someday, I hope, they get the stick batteries where they can also vape at higher power settings.

I dont know. It is incredibly frustrating... makes the purchaser feel as if they have wasted their money. The unfortunate side effect is that I will never purchase from them again and I will never recommend them.

Granted I am only one person but, in the last 3 months, I have converted (or at least have gotten people to try vaping) 4 in my office and 3 that consistently are in the building's smoking section. All of them so far have been given HHV, QnJ, and Ahlusion as juice recommendations.

BWB will not make that list.

I agree with you 100%. BWB is run like a small town antique shop. Open...Closed....Open....closed. They just reopened after a cruise vacation. I used to vape Casablanca, Adirondack, and 555E, almost exclusively, and was a regular on their sub forum. They locked one of my threads because I complained about their lack of reliability for always closing their store.
They replied saying that they were sorry I felt that way but they still had plenty of "loyal" followers.
Now, their selling AVON products in their store as well.

Thank God their not the only juice vendors out there.

It could always be worse jef. You could have a bad face, a sunburned tooth, and a swollen head. :)

Finally got around to trying out the iclear30, and I am impressed!

If anyone needs a tank for on-the-go activities, grab one of these. It's a warm, top dual coil vape, a tighter draw than the Protank, but it doesn't mute the flavor like a stardust or T2. In fact, the flavor is as good as with the Protank.

The iclear16's I have tend to gurgle a bit due to condensation build-up, and if screwed onto the battery too tight will leak. Haven't had that problem with the iclear 30. No leaky, no gurglely. And it goes through juice about the same as the Protank, depending on your voltage.

I only mentioned this, because while checking out a link from ........'s, I discovered that Hoosier Vapes has the iclear30 for $8.99! That is the lowest that I've seen then to date, and a fantastic buy.

The tighter draw and warmth of the vapor hits all of my buttons, and I have the same great flavors as with the BCC Protanks. I drained a tankful of Heavenly Army yesterday, and filled it right back up. I'm really enjoying it.

Maybe, uhh, anything "new?" LOL. Yeah, let's talk about new stuff.

(Sorry for the blatant diversion, but I saw something happening. Though I can sympathize with what was going on.)

Sorry, I'm stuck on the oldie's ( er... classic rock, some progressive jazz, older blues etc )...

I do have a couple of Ahlusion e-liquids that came in on the 20th... so should be good to try out by this next weekend ( if I get time that is )... The selection was still limited when I ordered... but I did get Smooth Criminal and Desperado at least. Since they got the others that interested me in stock... I'd been spending my spare budget on other items non-vape related ( gas, 2 cycle oil, water, gloves etc ). Hopefully they will still have Sahara and Blue Grass Burley around when I free up some cash for that type of thing... If not, I've got plenty of other NET's to keep me going for a while.

PS... I may have a good lead on some firewood if interested ( joke )... :D
