... and you let them steep for how long? .... Most here have stated that the non-aro's need a long steep in order that their flavors develop. I've let my Desperado and Smooth Criminal steep for 3 weeks now, the going recommendation say 4-8 weeks before they start to hit their prime. I'm getting no odd chemical flavors in mine currently, though I do have an odd flavor I don't recall seeing mentioned in SC before so I'm going to re-read the reviews on it... The odd flavor that I wasn't expecting... cinnamon. It's just either me, or I missed reading that before.

Just aros. No steep required. SC in the aro group would be Smokin Cherries. No non aros in my post. Smooth Criminal does have some cinnamon though.

Probably flame bait here, but I have to post. I tried the majority of the A+ aros last night. From several I got the same strange taste that I did from the two I ordered last week. CB, HC, BGB, SC all had it. I didn't get it as much from SGP and Vurley and not at all from DD!. Surprisingly the most approachable and my favorite was DD! which makes little sense based on impressions here. Anyone else notice this chemical taste?

What kind of strange taste did you get? I've never gotten a chemical taste from the aros, but I HAVE gotten chemical taste from other juices that other people don't get. So you got it the most from Cocoa Blend, BGB, Smokin Cherries, and Honey Cured? None of these NEED steeping, but maybe with age the note your getting will go away.

Say hi to the Dog for me.

CB=Caribbean Blend, didn't try Cocoa. Sorry, abbreviations cuz I'm lazy and on my phone. It's hard to describe what the taste is, but I haven't had it with any other NET. Something from the extraction process maybe? Whatever it was i could even smell it when Johni was vaping it in the same room. I did get a bit of it from Sahara and Dulce Cubanito as well but just decided to let them steep longer since they were fresh non aros. Gonna try a day with the caps off for the aros.

I would have thought that SC is closer to either Honey Cured or Vurley based on the previous reviews I've read... none had mentioned a cherry flavor in SC but several have mentioned honey and vanilla ( and I've seen several mentioned cinnamon also since I've re-read several now )

No dude, not Smooth Criminal in my original post. There's an aromatic flavor called Smokin Cherries. And it has a strange taste to me. I think you're mixing them up because of abbreviation (SC for both).

Hope the caps off helps. If I get any chemical type notes from a juice it's a no-go for me.

Ah... got it. We are both posting about different SC's at the same time... I'm currently trying out both Desperado and Smooth Criminal... easy to get confused with abbreviations that way I guess

What are you vaping them in? Many clearos impart plasticky tastes; some people taste the filler in cartos. VG has a sweet creamy taste. If you're trying them all in a fresh dripping atty, and you're getting a chemical taste, I think you must have the rare palate that can taste PG or glass. Because VG, PG and tobacco is all that's in those juices, and they're in a glass bottle. I think the answer to your problem lies in changing the vapor delivery device.

Tried them in evod, t3, cutie rda, Phoenix v5 rda, and 510 bridgeless. On egos, VV, mech mods. Puzzling. Maybe glass bottles but didn't get it from various W2V or MOV flavors all in glass. I rarely vape any PG higher than 50% though, and these were 70%. Hmmmm......

I'm guessing it's a flavor of the tobacco, maybe the burely they use, since you're getting it from some and not others. The extraction process they use brings out different notes than maceration. Maybe it's a new flavor note that your reading as off. Vape it until you like it, or chalk them off as not your thing.

I get the same note in Ahlusion aros that roots brought up, only to a lesser degree or maybe I find it less offensive. It is not related to the juice delivery system as it is apparent in all that I have tried. It is a slightly "chemical" taste that I attribute to the carbon dioxide extraction process as I get the same taste and mouth feel from soda machines when the CO2 isn't being added/dissolved exactly right. It does dissipate with time in the aros and I am experimenting with more cap off steeping time (than Wlad recommends) to see if this accelerates the process. My guess would be that the sensitivity to this taste varies widely between individuals.

Ahlusion Desperado

PG/VG - 30/70
NIC - 6mg
Born on - 05-16-2013
Tasted on - 06-09-2013

JDS - Evod 2.6Ω
Wattage - 8w

A really nice sweet tobacco leaf flavor with a nice rich medium tone to it. While it is sweeter than a cigarette, I can see how others would get that feel from it. If this develops furthers as others have mentioned, I'd like to see a few darker notes show up but only time can tell how it will change. If this one doesn't change further... I'd be perfectly happy with it as it is now. This is a really nice vape that is velvety smooth and rich just as described on it's webpage.

Ahlusion Smooth Criminal

PG/VG - 30/70
NIC - 6mg

JDS - Evod 2.6Ω

I believe that this one certainly needs additional time to steep. Currently, while I do get some light tobacco flavor, it's still a ways in the background. When I first tasted it, I was surprised to taste cinnamon ( I hadn't remembered that being mentioned, though I did find reviews with it now ) and then a little later the honey flavor started to show up. Many have mentioned tasting vanilla but I'm one of those that have trouble discerning that flavor... for me it usually blends in with creamy/sweet flavors and has to be really strong for me to notice it, perhaps it will come out more later for me. As it sits now... I'd like to see the tobacco come out a lot more in front of the other flavors and hopefully it will in the weeks to come. I can easily see myself vaping this in the morning with a cup of coffee.

I had the same problem with my Want2Vape order. Usually it takes about 10 days to get an order from the US to Australia but my W2V took 16 days. I noticed it took 8 days just to leave the US.

USPS sure is messing up these days..

My MOV order is doing pretty much the same for the last week and half. Shipped from MOV, went to Chattanooga, TN, got misdirected, went back to TN, shipped again, went to Florida and now is processing from there. Here's hoping that it makes it to me this week!

Grrrrrr..

You tell us whether tobacco can be hydroponically grown successfully and a variety of other questions on tobacco extraction, including natural nicotine quantities occurring in the extraction process and we will tell you what a 'NET' is. :D

I know Google is my friend, but I've not been following too closely lately and I'm lazy.
So would somebody tell me... What the heck are NETs?

Had an interesting night last night. I was a bit gunshy to pull out my e-cigs around what appeared to be a bunch of non-smokers until finally, after a few gulps of a good Australian beer I couldn't help but to pull out my Evod with Smooth Criminal. Immediately I got the attention of the crowd and people wanted to try out my electronic cigarette. 3 of a group of 5 were all either reformed smokers or social smokers but only one was smoking.

The guy smoking analogs commented on the Smooth Criminal tasting like a cigar and it was only after he said that I could actually detect some cigar like qualities to it. Another said 'vanilla'.

Imagine the responses I would have gotten if I had Patriot or Want2Vape juices with me!

This week is E3, the big videogame trade show. Since game's are my primary business, it's going to be a super-busy and super-fun week. I've chosen Ahlusion's Gold Rising and Peachy Criminal to help me get through the show (and the various post-show parties). Peachy Criminal is probably my favorite new (to me) e-liquid of 2013. Honey Cured is up there too, which brings us to Gold Rising. It probably needs some more steeping, but I'm loving this one after day one. While it's listed as Ahlusion's take on the RY4 formula, I'm not really getting anything close to any classic or custom RY4 I've had. To me, it's Honey Cured's younger sister. They're both beautiful, but Honey Cured is sexy and in-your-face, while Gold Rising is so adorable that you can't help falling for her.

Edit: On the USPS front, I recently had a problem with a Priority Mail letter from my family. It was shipped on a Saturday with an estimated arrival date of Monday. Instead, it arrived on Friday. The letter was HNL to LAX, so unless it was floating around the Pacific Ocean for a few days, there's something funky going on with sorting.

Funny stuff. I didn't know what prompted your comment until I saw my likes which reveal he put a like on a comment I made in this thread on April 13.

Looks like MFTom is getting close to finishing reading this entire thread.

Yeah I notice when I check my likes he's gotten a little further in the thread lol. That's what I did before I posted, started from page one and read a few pages as I had the time. He's got a lot more posts to read than I had though.
