scarf,

I appreciate my VelvetCloudVapor tobacco juices more and more over time---Blue beard and White beard especially. VCV's proprietary in-house TA is markedly different from commercial Bulgarian TA. I find it much more palatable---lighter and more flavorful.

I'm excited to hear that you like their chocolates. I almost pulled the trigger on a couple of those and now probably will after your recommendation. Plus, of course, I'm with you all the way about VCV's sophisticated graphics and graceful web site layout and presentation. Artistic savvy done well is a great joy.

Definitely try Night Shift and Mewlew's Magic Blend. I seem to recall liking Chocolate Pudding too (they sent it free) but I cannot quite remember. I liked it a lot mixed 50/50% with White Beard, that I do recall.

I think the fact that the juices are 100% VG has something to do with it... it gives a richer and silkier mouthfeel that works well with the chocolate flavors.

Apache from www.mountainoakvapors.com review.

The juice: Aged 3 weeks. 70/30 pg/vg at 18mg. Apache is an English pipe blend of Flue Cured Virginia, Oriental, and Latakia tobaccos.

The hardware: The Dream Fatty V2 clone with a dual wire coil at 1.1 ohms and the A6 rebuildable dripper at 1.6 ohms. Vaped on the Smoktech chrome epipe.

Sweetness (1 equals little to none, 5 equals sickenly): 2. There is a little sweetness to be found here, not much but it's there. It's a signature sweetness found in the other MOV NETs, and is almost the same as what I found in QnJ's Turkish and Fire Cured. The signature sweet taste I get from this and those is my favorite of any tobacco juices, and seems to elevate the vape experience in a way smoking can't. It's also that sweetness that makes it possible for such an intense juice to be enjoyed for long periods.

Tobacco Impact: 5. Aggressive and complex. Probably too aggressive for many vapers, but is really just at the line of medium-strong for seasoned NET vapers. Other than the signature sweetness, this is a very pure tobacco vape with zero non-tobacco tones. The Latakia provides a lot of smoky depth. Latakia is a pretty intense tobacco, and is what will turn people off from this vape if they don't like it. It took a bit for me to adjust to the Latakia and then I noticed the flavorful and slightly leafy Virginia. I'm sure the Oriental's playing a role, but I don't have the experience yet to pick out exactly how it's shaping the vape. The complexity is deep, and after vaping a couple days I'm still picking out new notes.

Vapability: 3. Much higher grade than I would have given it for the first several hours of vaping, with the possibility of going higher. First try had me thinking; too smoky and intense, I'm not in the mood. Second attempt was close to the same, but I stuck with it. After adjusting to the aggressive tobacco, the light sweetness and layers of flavor grabbed me, and several ml later I don't want to put it down. Not an anytime vape, but perfect when in the mood for a high impact bacco. That I understood early, but to my surprise it's also working as a long session vape.

Flavor Accuracy: 5. They were going for an English blend with Apache, and that's exactly what it is. Much like London from Want2Vape and Devil Dog from Ahlusion. I got what I was expecting, similar to those with it's own unique layers and tones.

Overall: 5. Apache is a powerful tobacco experience for those who appreciate super-authentic tobacco vapes. Based on my memory of Devil Dog, it's a bit milder and sweeter than that powerhouse. I may even like it a little better, but would have to vape them side-by-side to know for sure. This isn't the type of juice I want to vape often, but always want to have on hand. Like other great Latakia inspired vapes like Devil Dog from Ahlusion and Fire-Cured from GoodeJuice, or super-authentic baccos like Blue Grass Burley from Ahlusion or the soon to be released Fire Cured from QnJ, Apache is a juice I have a lot of respect and adoration for.

Got my Ebaron Dripper and... not feeling the love.

The flavor is okay, the vapor is awesome, but I can't get over how gurgly it is. I try to inhale and it's all bubble bubble bubble. Definitely not stealthy at all. I tried dripping into the ceramic cup and outside where the wick lies, and it is gurgly both ways. Really annoying and I am certain it inhibits the liquid's ability to vaporize properly.

What am I doing wrong? Anyone got any pro-tips? Please don't tell me I just wasted $85. :(

AnthonyB, I doubt my descriptive skills will match the likes of Canned Wolf, Jerms, Vapomizer or some of the others I've enjoyed reading here and on other threads. Picking out notes or flavors is above my skill level as a Casual (lazy) Vaper, giving my opinion on the feel/experience of the liquid is more comfortable to me.

I previously wrote, I found W2V Paris the most Raw Tobacco flavor (I loved it), a heavy but not necessarily hard Throat Hit and overall satisfying vape for short sessions. The Louisville was a touch lighter overall, more enjoyable and conducive to longer vape sessions, as for the actual types of Tobacco Flavor, I couldn't identify them without knowing which tobaccos were used.

Two weeks ago I received a few Goodejuices; Patriot, Vita Bella, Arcadian Gold and Natural Perique, since I'm a Natural Born Steeper (three or four weeks is a walk in the park, I've steeped as long as 6 months), I have no problem waiting for VB. Right now I've only vaped the Natural Perique (6mg Nic) using a Bridgeless Empire Mod LR (1.8) Atty on the unregulated Bottom-Feed, the Vapor production was good but the flavor was lacking/very mild & muted. I let the NP sit, trying it again yesterday, much more Tobacco flavor, pleasant & still mild, probably due to the low nic.

I agree wholeheartedly with all you've said. One of the finest juices on the market for those who want to taste tobacco.

I find it to be somewhere between Blue Grass Burley and Devil Dog in terms of tobacco impact and boldness. I have both right now and I think you are right to say that Apache is slightly milder and sweeter than Devil Dog.

Apache is in my top 5 favourite juices. If it wasn't for you guys and gals here at Natural Tobacco, I wouldn't have experienced it.

Scarfy, sorry to hear it.

The only time you should get any gurgle is when you initially fill or top up. I suspect this is because some of the juice drips right into the ceramic cup. It should go away within a few vapes. If it doesn't, something is wrong. Most likely and obviously, you have over-filled it.

The initial fill should be in the vicinity of 12-15 drops.

Did you build it yourself or is is the ready-to-go install that is gurgly? I found the ready-to-go install just fine.

I will be honest, I am not finding it as flavoursome as other atty's but admittedly, I need to experiment with it a bit more. Perhaps the pre-built coils I paid $2.25 a piece are made with nichrome.

Got my Ebaron Dripper and... not feeling the love.

sounds like its flooded. I only get gurgling when i overfill. I also don't like the coils that it came with and rebuilt them. That helped. I use 3mm ekowool which I liked better than what looked like 2mm silica that it came with. Give that a go and see if it changes your experience with it.

So a quick look at Devil Dog and Louisville side by side. I have been told by people I really trust that DD trumps Lousiville and I said that was impossible. I stand by that. They are comparable, but really different animals I think. Does it MATCH Louisville...at least. Not sure it is a fair comparison though. I would not go so far as to refer to Louisville as "muddled" or even "one note" in comparison. Rather, it is one of the most well balanced juices I have tried. That really seems to be the Vapenstein/Signature trademark. You could make an argument that London is almost TOO balanced, if that is even possible, and that is why many prefer the robust Louisville. Anyways, I see Louisville and a robust vape to be sure. The smoky element is just absolutely perfect too. It remains #1 on my "just like smoking" list over DD. That said, DD is an animal. The layers and depths of flavor here are unmatched and extremely well balanced. Where this has it over Louisville is how those flavors unfold which is strikingly wonderful. The magic here is the oh so subtle sweet finish from the perique that really holds the whole thing together. I am not a huge perique guy...and in both juice and analog tobacky when it is used in blends I often feel let down as it complicates matters, makes it over sweet, or funkifies a blend depending on the particular blend. This one is masterfully sewn within an outstanding vape. Obviously the spice element is the real kicker here and my guess why many cant handle this in extended doses. I am not of that ilk, though as a chain vaper i do need to mix it up. But bring it on.

Not sure that helps...but to wrap it up, Louisville is currently on my desk as an ADV. I rotate a couple aromatics and Louiville all day, but primarily am vaping the Louisville. By contract, while I am not in the camp of saying DD for ME is not an ADV, because though it it kicking some ... I can handle it and I do love it, I do not WANT it to be an ADV. It needs to be sat with. The environment needs to be spot on. Outdoors...preferably a campfire...after a long day when you have at least 20 minutes to sit with no phone, tablet, music, noise...just you and the dog. Like any good dog it sometimes requires your undivided attention. That is where it shines. It will be shelved prepped and ready for just those cherished moments.

I love them equally but for different reasons...and I am not drawn away from louisville which while working I continue to reach for though they sit side by side. I can work with Louisville and puff irreverently. The DD is not a casual vape...

EDIT: I am just going to say it...I prefer Louisville which means it is currently my favorite NET. Many others are up on the tasting block, including BGB and Maple Burley today and Paris for car vape in a couple weeks.

These Ahlusion juices are...well...WOW. They are mamma jammas to say the least. Just fired up the Maple Burley. Now remember, I haven;t tried the BGB yet, only the DD, so take that into account. I have/had high hopes that a slightly mellower NET with maple could be a very nice ADV for the office. I am not so sure. F me this is hitting hard. I am not getting a lot of maple, almost an afterthought or undercurrent of maple, but the burley...oh my. There is not much "mellower" about this juice from even DD at first vape. It is hitting like a freight train. I don;t know if I can handle it as an ADV...if I do I will be forced to stop chain vaping that is for sure. I am a dyed in the wool tobacco guy too, cigs, pipes, and ridiculously high quality cigars...so that is saying something.

These Ahlusion juices are blowing my mind to be sure...and they are not for the faint of heart!!!! They demand attention, peace, contemplation, like a fine smoke should. Maybe that doesn;t work so well for working and vaping...or for a quick jaunt outside to escape the kids...but if I have the time to dedicate like 20+ minutes to them, damned if I am not "smoking" and slowly but surely relaxing. Maybe that is their genuis.

Mftoms,

I also loved Paris but it is definitely a vexing liquid with its gunking factor. Once the atomizer starts to gunk to liquid starts to 'shift' too because of the residue on the atty. it's a very high maintenance liquid.

The Patriot and other juices in the range from GeJ probably just need steeping. I felt the same about Patriot in the first few days and mine was already a week and a half steeped because I live in Australia and it took that long to get to me. It still needed steeping at that pointed. Being in Nevada, your Gej juices were probably mixed just days before you got them.

In its pre-steeped state it tasted like a soft, diffuse liquid without much bite or boldness. After 3-4 weeks I found the liquid transformed for me. Let us know how you feel about it after a month.

Great review. Lousville is one of my favourite vapes as well. I agree with your side by side analysis. Lousville is an all day vape. Devil Dog is a top shelf 'cognac', there for special occasions or a little tipple as a lovely little embrace from something potent and luxurious. I really love that lingering finish on Devil Dog. The mouthfeel and after taste is divine.

The gunking & flavor shift is why I'm planning on filtering some of my Paris, maybe an additional filter or two will curb the "Gunk Power" of the juice.

After reading many of the thread's posts on Patriot & Vita Bella I knew they'd need a steep, with ~60 assorted bottles of retail juice and ~1.5 Liters of base, ~50 vials of flavor, and 150ml of Nicotine, I'm occupied for now.

I figured the natural Perique and Arcadian would be ready after ~1 week, and I have a few from W2V, Vaporite, HighBrow & Quicknic that's been steeping ~3 weeks now.
