The Mobile Homers.. They are playing pretty darn good, but the refs have screwed The Golden Domers on quite a few occasions.. It blows

The refs have been really horrible this year in a lot of games....if Bama wins 28-17 then I win a 3 meat combo from Lippy's BBQ!!

coils look good and evenly spaced.. I wouldn't twist the legs like that though. You are basically shorting everything out, before it can do anything. You get the wick oxidized enough? How tight did you roll it? Untwist the legs and re-assemble.. put a few drops on the coil and fire it up. Try and take a pic or two of the coils after they have fully heated, with the liquid on there.

Hate to break it to you, but the second quarter just started and the tide are up 21-0.. Don't worry, I have the final score at 27-24. I don't see that happening either..

The last time I put it together I didn't twist the legs. I oxidized the crap out of it, then tonight before I started I hit it with the torch and quenched in vg 4 more times just to make sure. I rolled it pretty tight, but I think tomorrow I might try another one. How wide do you cut your mesh? I did this one about an inch wide. I'm done messing with it tonight....baby is getting fussy and momma keeps giving me the evil eye....I told her I was only gone mess with it for a bit, then I would help her with laundry.....that was at 530.....oh well she'll get over it.

Look at the first pic, do you see how the ends of the mesh are? Is that how it should be? It started off pretty even on both ends but as I was trying to roll it tighter the innerds of the one end kept coming out like that....I messed with it for quite a while trying to get it even, but it wouldn't tighten up

An inch should be fine.. I think I do mine slightly wider, but that's for the gennies. Sounds like you oxidized it more than enough, lol. If it's shorting out in the coils, you would typically be getting those staggered, low readings. With it jumping that high, I would probably guess it's not grounding properly.

Well, go get your laundry on!

I haven't had a problem with it rolling like a poster. Are you rolling it like a cigarette? Shouldn't really matter, as it's probably not touching anything metal in the nova, so shouldn't ground out anywhere.

Would it be a lil easier using a lower gauge wire??

I didn't want the wick to end up too thick, then it wouldn't fit in the slots on the head. It's been sooooo long since I've rolled a cigarette...

Should be easier using what you are..The lower the gauge/thinner, the more difficult it typically gets to work with. I haven't messed with the nova in a while, but I don't remember having problems with that rubber grommet burning.. I will see if I can't uncover anything for ya

Alright boys.....time for laundry.....I keep telling Becky that if everyone just wears one outfit the entire week it would really cut down on laundry.....for some reason she just won't do it.....I'll be back in a bit...

I like extra fabric softener in my delicates, thank you!

Isn't the lower the gauge the thicker the wire? I was thinking the thicker the wire the easier it would be to work with.....I'm probably way off on this though.

I guess it depends on how you look at it and if you are going off of 3 hours of sleep, lol. The lower the number, the thicker the wire is, yes. I am thinking (or rather 'was' thinking) in the lower, as in thinner, rather than the actual 'lower' number being thicker. Forgive me, kind sir!
