You got a short in there somewhere, it sounds like. How are you wrapping your coil to the pos post?

I'm wrapping it clockwise between the top nut and the middle nut.
I've been hitting it pretty good for a few minutes and it's doing alright at 11.5 watts....as long as I don't take too long of a draw. I'm gonna leave it alone for tonight and use it some more tomorrow....hopefully it will break in.....thanks for all your tips and advice.....you too Hawk, and Bop!

If you are running your coil around clock-wise, you should wrap it counter clock-wise around the pos post

Why is that? So it doesn't pull on it? I thought I read somewhere someone suggested going clockwise.....but I tend to remember things backwards....lol

It creates a shorter distance from wick to post, eliminating more chance for an upper hot spot. Same should be done on the neg. end.. Should wrap around the neg screw going closest to the center post. I suppose it would also help stabilize the coil and wick some.

I do the negative that way, I'll try the positive that way next time....so far it's doing alright....

Hope this wick/coil do the trick. I read somewhere that the top coil hotspot can be a result of pulling that last coil tighter before going to the pos post. I loosened mine up a bit and it seemed to help....some. I just think this aga is finicky. Mine is working pretty good right now. I'm afraid to touch anything and screw it up...lol. I would like a higher ohm coil but as long as the VARI is happy with this one I'm going to vape it as long as I can.

Hope you get an inside gig today. If not have a snowball fight and build a snowman. Pics please.

I mixed some tobacco absolute last night. 9ml, pg, 33mg nic, 5 drops of absolute.
This stuff is crystal clear and has NO smell???? In fact the bottle of absolute had no smell???
It is so NOT what I expected. I envisioned dark and thick with an overpowering aroma. Going to put a drop or 2 in the tank today and check it out.

I completely agree with you on the finicky part! It seems like I can get a coil working well and just the slightest bump will screw it up! This setup I made last night is still working, I haven't vaped it too hard yet, but I'm gonna leave it alone for now......someday I'm gonna get this wick rolling figured out!

I'm hoping for the snowball fight! I think it's funny that they canceled school and it hasn't even started snowing yet.....would be hilarious if we ended up only getting an inch!

No smell at all? Wow I would have thought it would have been pretty overpowering. Let us know what you think of it!

I will have to pull mine out (the tobacco absolute, you perve lol) and take a look at it.. I don't remember it being odorless.

Mine has a light yellow/amber color and has a distinct odor, but not overpowering. Kinda sweet and bitter at the same time.
