So ive been vaping on my Uwell crown tank now for 3 days (Also 3 days smoke free! :D ) and have been using the pre made coils that come with it, the 0.5 ohm coil now just changed to the 0.25 ohm coil and all is good, vaping at 30w reading 2.7 volts.

Now here is my issue, I purchased the Crown RBA for the tank as i want to get into building my own coils so I build a 0.25 ohm coil and i a,m having issues, Firstly its difficult to take a hit? like there is a lot of resistance ( Air flow is all the way open) Compared to the 0.25ohm pre made coil I cant get a good hit, secondly the throat hit on my rba is killing me! its so harsh where as the pre made was nice and smooth. Finally my mod ( Eleaf istick 100w) when using my rba is reading 6.7 volts at 30w where as the premade 0.25 ohm coil was only reading 2.7 volts?

What could i be doing wrong?

The juice I am using is a 70/30 VG/PG mix, Heisenberg by vampire vape.

Thank you

heya Aidan - firstly, welcome!

second - love the crowns - have not used the rba yet though, planning on rebuilding stock heads when i finally do kill them... for the rba, i am guessing, based on what you are saying, is that you may have a wicking issue - maybe too much wicking stuffed in there (no air, too tight in coil to let juice flow properly) - also, volts are not really the number you should be looking at here - what is the OHM reading on the coil in your rba? keep in mind, based on ohms law wattage = voltage*voltage/resistance... typically, you will adjust your WATTAGE so that your voltage is in your preferred range - i generally run that .25 ohm coil around 50 watts, personally... so, depending on what the OHM rating is on your rba, you will want to adjust the WATTAGE to find your sweet spot (in general, i shoot for around 3.7 - 4.2 VOLTS, but with some fancier coil setups on drippers with good wicking, may run a bit higher)

Madeira beach, Fla
what guage wire etc.?

Rebuilding is about balance not raw power.

Thats awfully low for a first attempt. Probably 4,5 wraps?

My immediate guess is its just not enough wire mass for the power you set and its burning and not staying wet enough or wicking fast enough, too small a wick for the wattage most likely.

Got a pic of the coil?.
